What do you mean Mr Positive? I was the biggest Dyche whinger on here towards the end and one of the most vocal about my dislike of the ALK finances.

Adingra scored against him at Brighton, Kudus won West ham the game. Salah should have had a couple. Today another 2 goals.

Can’t even be arsed to think of more but he’s awful, slow and offers nothing going forward. I liked Taylor too been a good servant for us but he’s washed and finished.

I like Newcastles suggestion of Smal for left back. I’d have a look at Owen Wijndal, former AZ captain hasn’t worked for him since replacing Blind at Ajax.

Kai Wagner plays in the MLS, German left back at Philly, wand of a left foot, great attacking threat. Linked with Leeds last summer, ran his contract down at Philly, think he fancies a move to Europe.

So three games?

Heaven forbid players can score against a fullback -

No comment on the left hand side before taylor came back into the side?

‘Mr. Positive’ because you’re lashing out any anyone that has been critical of the team/manager this year but it’s fine for you to do it!

Regardless of who it is, full back and centre mid is a must in January.

Think you're confusing me with another poster there. The only time I "dug" at you under the previous regime was when you were openly racist.

Happy New Year KRBFC.

Add in a CB as well.

I don't think we can rely on the injury record of Beyer or Ekdal.

If I’m honest I’m not sure CB is critical. For me the other two positions are absolutely 100% critical recruitment positions

Agree here. We’ve got 5 cb’s and play with 2.

A dominant 6 defensive midfielder (Pape Gueye) and new left back the key two for me.

I agree the other positions are crucial, but if we're to stand even the slightest chance of staying up, we have to be able to see out a favourable score line. How many times do we concede on half time or close to full time? An experienced leader at CB would help massively, and for me it's just as crucial.

Unfortunately though, after the Forest result tonight, I'm not sure there's anything we can do in January to turn this around.

Taylor was probably at fault for the first because he seemed to fail to anticipate the direction of a run already in progress but 8 Burnley players were marking no-one.

Two Villa players were unmarked in the box for their second.

Taylor didn't do that well on the third but again Villa players were left unmarked in the box.

It's not untrue to say Taylor had a bit of a 'mare but it's also not true to say that Taylor was the only issue today.

You can't cherry pick what you see to fit a narrative.

I do agree but I just don’t think the funds will be there for a CB.

I think VK will learn from his summer mistakes and prioritise his limited funds.

I do agree though I think that result tonight pretty much ends our chances unless Everton’s form drops off a cliff

Left-back good on both sides of the ball must have mobility.
A proper 6 is somebody who can receive in tight spaces and has mobility and power can win the ball back can sit between CB at times and can play through lines.
Being greedy a CF who is mobile and a good finisher who works hard without the ball.

The priority had to be CDM to let Berge advance forward
As mentioned the Fellaini, Fabihno etc type.

Solid CB and LB/RB

Hopefully we can be active and give it a go

I think it’s more to do with the system. He’s someone that should be a back up for us and no more.

Taylor can’t offer us what we need from a left back.

Watching Forrest here and Aina going forward offers them so much.
Then we need to get what is required on the other side of the pitch. If we get a massive upgrade at right back then Taylor is excellent as the more defensive full back on the left hand side. IMO Taylor has been one of our better players this season.

Think he was 6th overall a couple of weeks ago, he is the least of our problems at present.

If I am honest I disagree. Our system is based upon full backs being really good with the ball and either getting forward to create an extra outlet or stepping into midfield. Taylor just doesn’t fit into our system.

If we going for a more traditional set up I would agree with you.

We will be replacing Cork and Rodriquez at some stage in the next few months, now is as good a time as any (if the right player comes available).

I worry about our centre halves but when all fit I just can't see where we can fit another one in.

So in short, a striker to backup/supplement Foster, an athletic holding midfielder and a massive upgrade at right back are the priorities imo.

The centre halves are never fit at the same time or mostly good enough for this level so a new one or two makes sense.

Except Taylor is decent on the ball, by no means brilliant but if we get a Maatsen style player at right back then we will improve massively.

Getting a ball playing left full back with Vitinho at right back would leave our centre halves even more isolated and a recipe for disaster. None of our centre halves are capable of going man for man with Premier league strikers (playing a high line) and coming out on top, they need support and experience at this level to help them, Taylor provides this.

That we don't panic, that we continue our improvement and start to accumulate points on a regular basis. That the players pass better, pass quicker and increase the conversion rate of chances created.

In theory we could combat that with a dedicated defensive midfielder (a good, expensive one).

This is what I’ve been staggered by. Although we’d likely be one of the favourites, some posters are fine with the what we’ve done this season simply because “we’ll come back stronger”.

Absolutely no guarantees as you say. We surrender our status at our peril.

Agreed but that'd be a defensive midfielder with the ability to protect the back four and with the technical ability to play in a possession based team, who is willing to come to a team which is very likely to be relegated to the second tier. On top of this they are currently good enough to come straight into the Premier League and make an instant impact.

Hope the analytical bods have somebody lined up on their super duper laptop.

There's one thing, nearly half of the transfer window will be gone before we play Luton at home in our next league fixture.

That is obviously a game we hope to win, the next league game after that is 31st Jan away at City, just before the window closes.

Gazdag is a 10 ok watched him live when he came on against England at Wolves. The player I like there is Jack Mcglynn but once again wand of a left foot but Has no mobility. Gazdag was on fire before the World Cup but is allowed the freedom with how they play.

Taylor absolutely wasn’t the only issue, the main issue is Villa have more money and better players than us. It doesn’t help when your experienced left back is responsible for giving the opposition 3 goals though. I think Vitinho was poor too but at least he gets forward and tries to support the attacks.

Could we do worse than bring back McNally?
Thought the same.......he's tall & physical... Don't remember what his passing was like, but he's a threat at corners which we sorely lack.

Vithinio gets forward but christ his final ball gets worse each passing week a bit like his throw ins.

I think there’s some talent in the MLS these days, I do wonder how the likes of Mukhtar, Reynoso, Lucho Acosta, Almada and Zelarayan (I know he left to Saudi mid season and was replaced by Rossi) would fare in Europe.

Bouanga being lights out for LA and average in French maybe shows the step to Europe is still huge tho. Same with Gil who was part of that awful Villa side many moons ago.

I do love Riqui Puig tho!

Trouble with this thought is there is no guarantee we would be promoted again. What we achieved last season was exceptional.
We will only lose 2 or 3, Foster, Kolesho maybe Brownhill. There is enough quality left for that league.

I suspect you’re underestimating how many will want away.

One of Trafford or Muric will defo be gone. (Potentially both)
Cork, Jay, JBG all likely to go.
Odobert, Amdouni and Tresor will more than likely go to Europe (similar to Weghorst) there’s no chance they will want a season or two in the championship.

Then you move into the fringe players like Redmond, Zaroury are they going to want to play championship football when they know are not likely if we get promoted again. (There are two I can see going to Turkey)

He wouldn’t make our bench, better where he is gaining experience
