Yes and only lasted 2 hours.

Still poorly and have been pretty much bed-ridden since the 29th December.

Self employed so picking and choosing, and this time of year not much change around when I'm sat in Aldi's doorway with hat and dog.

I’m going into the office later today, tidy up and potter about. Those days between Boxing Day and New Year’s Day have been a non-constructive drag.

Yup, first day back for me. Only my second time out of bed since Christmas Day (the other was to go to the doctors). Still feel lousy but I’m only in for one day, Lanzarote tomorrow for a week 😎

1st day back for me too, however I did come in for a day last week. I really enjoy working and am always happy coming in at morning. I enjoy time off too.
I always think that if you don't enjoy work, then get a different job.

I took early retirement 18 years ago and have lived on the Costa del Sol for the last twelve years. Mrs. Vino and I had our breakfast at 11,30 this morning in a small restaurant by the beach, where we could watch a few sun worshipers getting a few rays....... I often what the poor people are doing.

First day back for me too. 40 working days left until retirement- not that I'm counting mind.

I have been busy, every day!

We had a last minute AirB&B lady, who had her cruise cancelled but had let her small house to a cat sitter! Then got ready for after Christmas Australians, who got caught in the weather and delayed until today. We had already prepared the room.

Then family until yesterday evening, which caused loads of work!

Working this morning changing over for the delayed Aussies. 2 days now. Then come a Spanish couple.

In between, Council work continued at diff times and full tilt today.

At 70, I am polishing showers and helping change beds! 😝

Lots of retired or nearing retired folk on this thread.
I thought I was old at 50😁
I'm fine with it now the dreaded first day is over and will be glad to get back into a routine.
Could have died when the alarm went off this morning though!

I retired Feb 2019 but that lasted about 3 months before I got cabin fever, so I’ve been doing contract work off and on since including working for the HSE during the pandemic. I just finished 6 months with VEKA in Dec 23 so we’ll see what the new year brings

Back on Thursday - weirdly looking forward to getting back into the routine. With this weather in particular, I’ve been a bit listless these past few days. The mornings won’t be any different as the dad of a seven year who religiously wakes up at the same time every day.
