He's now dropoed the Fred West analogy and brought up Pol Pot and Stalin. This can only surely end up in court, he really has gone far and beyond decency and legality this time.

Very intelligent and usually correct is Joseph. Here ... well.its just a slip up but he's entertaining. Listening to BBC just now Shearer is on the other side of the spectrum. Very decent honourable guy but hell he ccould alk a glass eye to sleep.

You seriously think a moderately risqué analogy will “ end up in court “? While Barton is clearly overstepping the mark and seems to be suffering a very public nervous breakdown, this is no more going to court than Barton is going to Tai Chi classes .AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:59 pmHe's now dropoed the Fred West analogy and brought up Pol Pot and Stalin. I think it’s more the allegations about Schofield and ITV that could see him in legal trouble. He was also making truly awful comments about one of Ed Balls’ children yesterday.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Really ?
Why is he intelligent ?
Cos he started wearing glasses and told the world he was studying for a degree ? (which I believe he didn’t finish)
Or is it because he made a d-ick of himself on Question Time or put on a daft French accent in a press conference ?
As far as I can see he’s thick as pig-****.
Re: Joey’s in bother again
Entirely unsurprising that that was his next target. It's pretty clear the audience he's targeting.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 3:53 pmObviously his views are pretty abhorrent but he is of course entitled to them, however from the escalation of his posts I can only see this ending in criminal or civil action against him. I read a post yesterday where he was mocking Ed Balls for having a 'trannie' child. The guy's an absolute melon and always has been, I bet he's surprised by how little support he's receiving on social media.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
I’d imagine he’ll receive some kind of warning from whoever represents the commentators and you’d expect ( if he’s got even half a brain ) to apologise that he’s “gone over top and no personal offensive intended “ and can crawl away as his career is surely over .

He spouts absolute rubbish, to gain attention.
He was good for us.
He was a thug off the pitch.
He is going through a psychotic episode and needs help. Feels kind of weird seeing it all unfold an the circus that encourages him have a lot to answer for.

I mean, it’s not been confirmed he’s going through a psychotic episode. He may well be. But he’s also very clearly on a grift that many others are on - there’s a reason he’s now pivoting away from women in football to other stuff like anti-trans hate speech. A well trodden path, and there’s a number of people out there who cheerlead those views.

Some people start from such a low level, that they consider the ability to string a coherent sentence together as the mark of an intelligent mind. Use a 'big word' and they think you're either a king or a god.

He appears to ranting again this morning , maybe he’s an epiphany ? and woke up to find Andrew Tate at the foot of his bed in an embrace with Shola ,and hearing the words “ go forth and grift “ he’s decided to take up the mantle with gusto .

It's pretty inarguable that Gary Neville has had a much more successful football career at a higher level than Joey Barton so does that mean we have to listen to what Neville says and ignore Barton?HahaYeah wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:35 pmTodays tweets that are upsetting the Woke mob...

Re: Joey’s in bother again
One of Barton’s problems, of which there are many, is that by going in two footed (true to himself at least) from the off with his crass Fred and Rose West comments is he’s got nowhere left to go. Every subsequent rant, rather than ratcheting up his shock value schtick, has just highlighted what a sad, low grade chump he really is.
Invoking his gassed forebear as reason for his weird obsession with women’s football is almost comic book in its ridiculousness. Even his grifting is low grade, not that that seems to matter much these days.

Now he’s mentioned his great grandfather dying in the war and that Joey is simply carrying out his duty to his memory I think that puts a different slant on things.

After what happened with foster I'm surprised more empathy isn't shown towards JB with what could potentially be a similar condition.

"Woke" means being a normal, confident and well - balanced human being as opposed to being terrified of foreigners, other people's success, women, the disabled and progress.
I'm sure I've missed a couple of things but you get the gist.

I prefer Foster's more dignified acceptance of his difficulties and his attempts to use others to overcome them.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 3:26 pmAfter what happened with foster I'm surprised more empathy isn't shown towards JB with what could potentially be a similar condition.
Barton's problems- greed and or auditioning for whatever future job he has in mind or, indeed, his "potential" mental issues - make him look like a knob.
Either way, he is being badly advised.

Mental health doesn't come in 1 shape or size, I agree bartons attitude & conduct is wrong but it's still deserves a degree of understanding if the issue is a mental health problem.evensteadiereddie wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 3:36 pmI prefer Foster's more dignified acceptance of his difficulties and his attempts to use others to overcome them.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
So what do we do ?
Let him do or say anything he wants just because he might have mental health issues ?
How would that work exactly in the rest of society ?
If at some point JB is diagnosed with issues that’s when he deserves some empathy and sympathy.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Oh dear, Jakub, what happened to all that sanctimonious crap you spouted a few weeks ago about not making personal comments to fellow posters and er, sticking to the discussion?
Your counselling skills have clearly given you far more insight into the human condition, assessing and confirming Barton's diagnosis almost immediately.
Well done that man!
As I said, I'll be quite prepared to give the lad some slack if and when your diagnosis is proved correct. Seems fair to me.

Call it consistency regarding a degree of empathy towards the stigma of mental health. While googling retrospectively you can also google potentially & diagnose if I claimed what you have stated.
