Just ignore him. Like all trolls he just wants the attention so if you give it to him he wins.

He's clearly realised his career is no longer in coaching and is trying to manufacture credibility elsewhere...

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Can’t quite work out what he’s doing.
He appears to be trying to tweet his way into a new career as some sort of cultural commentator, but then that would be at odds with his notion that you should only be able to commentate on something when you’re recognised as an elite within the field.
Whether you agree with him or not, he’s coming across as a really unpleasant character. His attacks on Aluko are really personal and completely unnecessary.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Not sure what he’s trying to acheive.
Last week he was having a go at, and not knowing who Rachel Brown-Finnis is, despite her being from the town of one of the teammates played for twice, played for the women’s team of the club he supports and is married to the caddy of the golfer that he’s mentioned many times and played with before (both of whom he follows on X)

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Comparing people to incestuous rapist-killers sure is a new low, even for him. He's jumped the shark this time, but he's too thick to realise this at the moment, but he soon will do, because I can't see him making much money from his new 'career'. Yes, he'll get talked about, but the dosh isn't going to come rolling in.
Re: Joey’s in bother again
He rebuilt his career and credibility at Burnley and its all in ruins now.
Re: Joey’s in bother again
Shows what a fantastic man manager Sean Dyche is. Not a hint of an issue whilst he was here.

I dunno, there's a whole slew of right wing grifters cashing in and that's where Barton seems to aligning his podcast.Clovius Boofus wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 2:06 pmComparing people to incestuous rapist-killers sure is a new low, even for him. Re: Joey’s in bother again
For his contribution to Burnley FC, he'll always be a god in my eyes. Don't think I've seen many make such an immediate impact on our team.
He's been a bit of a bell end? Meh. So what? Who hasn't? Many times over. If you haven't....well done. But have you done what Joey did for Burnley?

Condemned by ITV in a statement tonight.
Barton looks like he’s on holiday in an incredible place looking at his pictures. Looks amazing.
He’s currently threatening Gary Neville on Twitter.

Great player for us but a tool off the pitch. Making light of twisted evil murderers whilst his brother is in prison for murder. Serious issues.

He's off his head is Joey, he really needs to get some mental health support before he ends up in real bother.AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 9:43 pmTold Gary Neville to effectively shut up or he'll fill him in. Seems violence runs in the blood.

Another tweet this morning about Philip Schofield and ITV but pretty inappropriate language. Jeremy Vine asking if he's got a brain injury.

Barton is and always has been a gobsh!te. His new iteration of GBEEBIES ready grifter should surprise nobody.
And let’s not kid ourselves, look past the crass, shock value, West comments and he’s not saying anything some folk on here seem quite comfortable posting.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
I’m not so sure it’s an audition.
He’s a guy who’s spent his life in football, in his book, which was a good read, he was certain he’d be a success as manager.
Now that’s failed and he’s realised there is no future for him in football it appears he’s really struggling. Lashing out at anyone who’s still involved.
It’s probably a window into what a lot of players go through.
He’s just more highly profile and thick.
What’s certain is that he needs help.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Pretty clear that his relatively trouble spell at Burnley was the exception in a life full of him being a complete pr-ick.
Says a lot about the management skills of Dyche though I also suspect that even at Burnley it was not all plain sailing with Barton….how could it be with someone so outspoken, thick, highly strung and opinionated as him

Re: Joey’s in bother again
I used to have some sympathy for him and have defended him in that past, but I stopped doing so after his last couple of 'misdemeanours', and I'm not talking about his desperate attention-seeking stuff on Twitter. My mates who said 'once a scumbag, always a scumbag' were right, and I was wrong.
Re: Joey’s in bother again
He's made some pretty valid points to be fair.
He just maybe needs to tone down the language a little.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
As mentioned earlier I’ve muted Barton however have seen a screenshot of his tweet to Neville, it has my toes curling in embarrassment for him. Needs to be intervention and quick. Wouldn’t be surprised if legal action has already been taken by a number of people.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
Obviously his views are pretty abhorrent but he is of course entitled to them, however from the escalation of his posts I can only see this ending in criminal or civil action against him. I read a post yesterday where he was mocking Ed Balls for having a 'trannie' child. The guy's an absolute melon and always has been, I bet he's surprised by how little support he's receiving on social media.

Re: Joey’s in bother again
I'm not putting anything on Dyche, but you claimed that there wasn't a hint of an issue whilst Barton was here, whereas he got an 18 month ban from the entire sport. I suppose it's indicative of Barton's career that this is almost regarded as a misdemeanor.
Re: Joey’s in bother again
No i was referring to his off field conduct. Gambling addiction doesn't come into that.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2024 4:21 pmI'm not putting anything on Dyche, but you claimed that there wasn't a hint of an issue whilst Barton was here, whereas he got an 18 month ban from the entire sport. I thought the bets he got in trouble for were placed before his time at Burnley?
