Muric 7 - mixed bag of distribution but handled & saved well
Vitinho 4 - it’s a good job he’s got some pace
O’Shea 9 - solid all night
Delcroix 9* - very impressive, his best yet, was everywhere
Taylor 7 - robust, hopefully not a bad injury
Zaroury 5 - class for our first half chance but little else
Cullen 8 - brilliant to see last years POTY find some form
Ramsey 7 - stuck to the task well in an unfamiliar role
Odobert 6 - threatened a bit
Amdouni 6 - one mark for every time he slipped
Foster 5 - praying he’s fit for Luton

JBL 5 - nah
Brownhill 6
Redmond 5
Al-Dakhil 6

Amdouni 6 - some **** spoken about him from the keyboard warriors tonight

JBL 6 - not his position. Strange Jay Rod didn’t come on
Al-Dakhil 6
Brownhill - 6
Tresor 5 - not much impact
Redmond 5 - not much impact

Thought we played very well. Missed Foster (hope he’s OK) and with no focal point up front made the job very difficult.

Go on, I'll bite.... Muric was good at best... Some awful distribution, which was meant to be his strong point. At least two in the first half which went to spurs players, Lee Dixon was really critical.... The ball out for the goal was poor. The ones straight out of touch were poor.
Positives were he commanded his box, and some good routine saves for this level. Did nothing to displace Trafford in his current form.

Muric 6 - execution was reasonably good. Some very poor game management though and heavily at fault for the goal when we needed to relieve some pressure. He invited pressure on multiple occasions in the first half also.
Vitinho 5 - whole hearted but struggled at times in the first half v Johnson and then some really poor play in posession in the second half
O'Shea 7 - defended very well, one mistake in the first half apart very solid indeed.
Delcroix 8* - thought he struggled last week with aerial balls over the top and also tracking deep runners. Looked very comfortable today though when the game was mainly infront of him.
Taylor 6 - solid, hope the injury is nothing serious.
Zaroury 6 - looked a lot more comfortable when switched to the left. I'd have kept him on, best pass of the game to Amdouni in the first half.
Cullen 7 - got through a lot of work and used the ball relatively well, the yellow was very harsh.
Ramsey 6 - another who worked hard and made some good interceptions.
Odobert 7 - worried Spurs every time he got on the ball. Suspect the substitution was to protect him.
Amsouno 4 - I like him but the miss in the first half was a shocker. Badly st fault for their goal along with Muric and maybe should have done better in the last minute.
Foster 6 - hopefully nothing serious and he will be back for Luton. Makes a big difference for us.

Bruun Larsen 5 - not sure the central role comes naturally to him.

A good performance all in all. We were always in the game however some poor game management at times and poor execution in the final third cost us.

How can you not see that we played so much more on the front foot for the rest of the game because of him between the sticks? It’s so apparent.

Yeah a bit of ring rust but that’s the style man. We were relentless tonight.

Bite? What are you talking about?
He did everything Trafford does plus much much more.
His shot stopping was better than Traffords too.
Two rusty passes, difference being he saved chances from his mistakes.
The goal was Amdouni's mistake give over

Muric 8 - got to say I felt more comfortable with him especially on crosses

Vitinho -5 - Roberts cannot go to Leeds.
O'Shea 7 - good game
Delcroix -8 - thought he was excellent
Taylor 7

Cullen 8 - put him in for Amdouni and get us some solidity
Ramsey -7
Zaroury 6
Odabert 7

Foster 5
Amdouni- 4 - we cannot afford to be that wasteful. He gets cut a lot more slack than he should be.

Tresor 4 - another hugely underwhelming display. I don't know what to say anymore.
Brownhill 6
Al Dakhil 7 - did well
Redmond 5 - never improves us
Bruun Larsson 4 - the one sub that baffled me. Looks nothing like a central striker.

Disappointing but we've played ok. For periods it looked like last season as we switched play and used Cullen well. But we beat ourselves again.

It's the Cup and he made changes. But no-one knows the best XI yet - and I include VK in that.

Glass half full tho - plenty of positives from that.

I'd say his ratings are more higher than lower, your very strange

Currently 9 ratings at 7 or above and 6 at 5/6, grow up your wrong again.

Muric 6 thought he was ok. Positives he controlled his box well. However I thought his distribution on the whole was quite poor (commentators shared that thought).

This felt more similar to the Burnley of last season, due to the inclusion of Muric, Zaroury and Cullen.
A decent defensive display but we were poor going forwards and when we looked to keep the ball we never looked in control, it was like a hot potato.

Another improved display but once again its a story of our mistakes bring punished and us not taking our chances. Unfortunately Amdouni was the main culprit for the missed chances and the goal conceded. He really should be improving by now but im not seeing a particularly different player than at the start of the season.

Muric 8 - A commanding presence. Claimed crosses with confidence and showed confidence on the ball. Knocked 1 mark off for thr goal, he wasnt the main culprit but taking a quick throw at that point was silly.
Vitinho 4 - First 10 mins was one of the most incompetent performances ive seen in a Burnley shirt in recent times. The rest was just rank bad. Sick of watching him.
O'Shea 8
Delcroix 9 I was close to giving a 10 here. This was the best defensuve display ive seen from any CB since Kompany came in.
Taylor 8
Zaroury 7 - Out of position but did well. Absolutely wonderful pass to set up Amdounis big chance. I think hes gone above Tresor in thr prcking order
Cullen 8 Back to his best. I think he may take Brownhills position soon
Ramsey 5 - Ok positionally first half but looked like he was going to lose the ball every time he got it. Thrn looked knackered seocnd half
Odobert 6 - Nothing much from him on the ball but deserves a 6 to reflect how much he is has improved the defensive side of the game
Foster 5 not much from him, hope hes not injured
Amdouni Missed 2 sitters and made an absolutely dreadful decision in his own half to cost us the gane. I was disappointed not to see any of our players going mad at him after the goal tbf, they really should have learnt by now.

JBL 4 understand why hes being used there but it didnt work. Incredibly harsh on Jay Rod
Al-Dakhil 7 Surprisingly excellent
Tresor 4 - the bad Tresor, im losing my patience withbhim tbf. We are all waiting for him to suddenly come alive but its now January and still nothing.
Redmond 6 worked hard, kept the ball quite well

Muric 7 - some sloppy distribution but he brings much needed presence and spark to this team. I don’t think it’s coincidental the CB’s looked better

Vitinho 5 - willing but lacks quality
O’Shea 7 - a few loose moments but solid
Delcroix 8 - played really well
Taylor 7 - solid enough

Cullen 8 - the JC we know and love
Ramsey 5 - nah

Zaroury 5 - looked rusty and tried too hard
Amdouni 5 - need to see much more. Lacking in the key moments
Odobert 7 - put in the hard yards

Foster 4 - looked way off it

Larsen 4 - baffling sub, looked way off
Brownhill 6 - steady
Tresor 6 - moments but need more
Al Dakhil 7 - did well
Redmond 5 - meh

Muric 6
Vitinho 7 - amazed at the low marks, his numbers from a defensive point of view were great tonight. Won 8 of 9 tackles, good pass completion. Yeah, his final ball could be better, but I thought he was pretty good.
O’Shea 8 - excellent again, really put me back in my box after criticism a few weeks back.
Delcroix 8 - ice cool 😎

Muric 6 - Good saves and in command of his box but on another day he’s responsible for three goals conceded.

Vitinho 5 - We need a new RB
O’Shea 8 - my MOM. Had to do his own job and Vitinho’s at times
Delcroix 8 - Only just beaten by O’Shea
Taylor 6 - starting to look slow.

Cullen 7 - not bad but still some awry passes.
Ramsey 7 - Better than his cameos of late.

Zaroury 4 - Had a mare! Plain and simple
Amdouni 5 - Half to blame for the goal despite the hospital pass! but defo should have put Porto under more pressure
Odobert 5 - MIA

Foster 6 - Great touches but looked to be injured after about 30 mins

Larsen 5 - Seems to have lost his way
Brownhill 5 - lacked cutting edge.
Tresor 6 - offered us more going forwards but lapses in concentration.
AAD 7 - Tried to get us forward at times and slotted in nicely.

Muric 8 (-1 for one crap kick out)
Vitihno 5
O'Shea 8 (Excellent)
Delcroix 8 (Ditto)
Taylor 8 (Ditto)
Cullen 7
Ramsey 6
Oderbert 7
Amdouni 4 (If it was figure skating we were marking he'd get 1 because he couldn't stay upright! He's lucky to get 4 after those two awful misses! A most frustrating player!!)
Zaroury 5
Foster 6

Brun Larson 6
Redmond 4
Tresor 5
Brownhill 6
AlDakil 8

Hugely frustrating to actually play pretty well, create some great opportunities and miss a couple of glorious open goals and then lose to a worldy. Positives: O'Shea and Delcroix looked really good and O'Shea is starting to remind me of Ben Mee a little. Plus Muric gives us something extra when under pressure at the back. Negatives: Vitihno isn't ever going to make a full back. Amdouni needs to lose the jesters shoes and get proper footy boots with studs and Ramsey needs to realise he's not Lionel Messi and stop asking for the ball with his back to play and when he's under pressure 25 yards from his own goal.

Muric 6....I like him but he shouldn't displace Trafford based on that display. Why rush the throw out for the goal ?! Great header at the end !
O Shea 7
Delcroix 7..great to see both CHs play well
Taylor 7
Vitinho 6..one of his better games I thought though I ground my teeth to dust when he overhit a great crossing opportunity late on
Ramsey 5
Cullen 8 ...thought he was terrific tonight
Zaroury 5
Odobert 6
Amdouni 5 ...the first half chance, particularly, should have been stuck away. Lost the ball for the goal.
Foster 6...gutted he didn't come out for the second half and am praying he's not injured.

JBL 4
Redmond 4
Brownhill 5
Tresor 4 ...he worries me.

Proud Claret tonight - that was the sort of performance that I thought we'd give against good opposition in the PL this season. Playing on the edge a bit, little kamikaze but relentless.

Muric I thought bar a bit of ring rust was outstanding and exactly why i've wanted him in the sticks all year. He sets our tone from the back with his vision and pace of passing. Can you recall us being ponderous at all and dallying tonight? No chance - we ran Spurs bloody ragged, just undone by one moment of quality.

Special mention for O'Shea and Delcroix who were both brilliant tonight. Really happy to see a partnership emerging and I think with Delcroix being a natural left footer he's the best choice for that LCB position.

Another special mention for Cullen who looked like the Cullen of last season.

Vitinho struggled early on but really grew into the game - if he could sort out his final ball he'd be a really decent fullback.

Shame that Amdouni couldn't finish those chances but hey ho - that was an excellent performance away from home all things considered.

Please keep that back three VK - we might have some sketchy moments but I think ultimately we will win more games with that personnel and that approach to the game.

Vitinho 6

Tresor 4 fail to see what he offers. Loses ball, poor balls and crosses.

Look well organised surprisingly with a makeshift team. We wouldn’t have scored if we’d played another hour though. This is one season I really don’t think we we need a cup run.

Decent performance on the whole tonight, it's never easy when you change half a team, not least for the rusty players coming in; much harder to make their mark. We defended well enough and carried a threat going forward bit, whilst it's a one in a million strike that has won it, it's really a case of us not taking our chances and giving the ba up far too easily. Again.

Muric 8 good handling, good, quick distribution on the whole and just has more of a presence that Trafford. Yes there were a couple of dodgy balls but that's how we play, dodgy balls at the back are our thing and he wasn't the only one tonight. No blame for the goal, that's on Amdouni.

Vitinho 4 Vitino

O'Shea 8 defended very well with a couple of ponderous moments in possession

Delcroix 8 also very good tonight, especially given he's been crap up to now.

Taylor 7 standard. Essential he's fit for Luton.

Cullen 8 had a really good night considering how long since he's played. Booked for a perfect ball-winning tackle.

Ramsey 6 unfamiliar position for him and it showed. Some good stuff some really not. Started the 2nd half better than the 1st then was shunted to the right wing where he isn't best.

Zaroury 6 rusty as you'd expect but still provided the pass of the match to Amdouni to waste

Odobert 6 clearly identified as the danger by Spurs and whilst he threatened not a lot came off

Amdouni 4 he's had a mare tonight. Has to take the shot first time when Zaroury lobbed it over for him but he went for an unnecessary touch and cocked it up. Then he tries to nutmeg Porro with a first touch and loses it for the winner. The chance at the death isn't an easy one at all, he did well to get it near the goal but on the whole we don't get enough from him off the ball that makes it worth what he does on the ball.

Foster 5 missed his presence, pace and industry when he went off, although he hadn't been great.

Bruin Larsen 4 what are we doing sticking him up top?

Brownhill 6 OK

Al-Dakhil 6 OK

Redmond 6 OK

Tresor 4 not ok

A game we could have won, that we probably deserved to draw at least, but another that we've lost.

You should watch Vitinho again, especially first half. It was comically bad, hes the worst full back weve had since Brian Easton

There was some ring rust no doubt, but surely you can see the difference in the speed of thought and passes? That's what sets it apart in that style of play. If we want to play off second balls and bit a bit more cautious then that's a different argument.

Muric 7 - some very, very good bits, but some bad bits as well. A 7 feels fair.
Vitinho 5 - targeted as the weak link.
O'Shea 8 - a shaky first 15, but was excellent thereafter.
Delcroix 9 - his best game for Burnley by a long distance. I thought he was immaculate from start to finish. Well done Hannes.
Taylor 7 - good game
Zaroury 5 - created Amdouni's chance but you can see why he's not featured.
Ramsey 6 - he was fine in the middle of the park as he always is.
Cullen 8 - best game this season. Hope he finds a way back into the league team.
Odobert 5 - nothing came off
Amdouni 5 - difficult one to rate tonight because he's putting himself in the positions, but he's got to take one of those chances. At the very least, half to blame for their player being able to have the shot for their goal.
Foster 4 - ball bounced off him

Larsen 3 - absolutely woeful as a forward. Utterly, utterly useless. Why wasn't Obafemi on the bench?
Redmond 5 - no impact
Tresor 5 - one or two good bits, one or two bad bits
Brownhill 6 - fine
Al-Dakhil 7 - did well at LB

We played well overall, and the defending was much better. Usual story of not being able to score and giving a goal away though.

Muric 8 Not his fault for goal, looked miles better with him in nets, distribution top notch

Vit 5 new right back needed

Taylor 7 need a reserve left back now!

O Shea 7 not too bad tonight

Delcroix 7 decent game

Cullen 7 did well tonight

Zaroury 5 forgot he was playing at some points

Ramsay 6 couple of wobbles but stayed on his feet ok

Oddy 6 decent enough

Amdouni 5 a stinker of a performance

Foster 6 playing ok until hooked

Brownhill 5 usual self losing ball in dangerous positions

JBL 5 looks unfit

Tresor 5

Dakhil 5

Did we have to make so many subs? the starting lineup played well until all the changes. Sometimes making no changes is better than changing for changes sake.
