Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
Only saw the last 25 mins or so but we looked fairly tidy on the ball and did get forward a few times. .Not once in that period though did we get any effort on goal. Their keeper could have gone and put the kettle on.
We've been playing better recently and we've improved our points return too but as I said to Mrs Babylon when she said we played well - yeah but we lost.
This is a team of losers at the moment. We might fight a bit and some of our side are showing good improvement but **** me we handed that on a plate to Spurs. I mean Amdouni coughs up the ball (again) and stops throwing his hands in the air - no effort at all to win it back or even try and take the player out. And people complain Ramsay is out of his depth.
That's why we are going down.

I think they said 3 or 4 in the documentary (someone with a better memory will confirm or correct that hopefullly), 15 every window would see us achieve nothing. It's my biggest concern but I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as we are right at the beginning of the journey (hopefully).Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 10:45 pmPretty sure that level of turnover is the model though Vegas

Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
there was one but in the second half when we were playing it around the back and it was skin of the teeth stuff. Nice post mate and yes, that's how I thought we would play (more) in the PL. Time and confidence......CoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 10:04 pmThey were poor because we ran them bloody ragged. Pressed them like mad and moved the ball exceptionally quickly.
That is exactly how I thought we’d play from the off in the PL.
Bit Kamikaze, playing on the edge a bit but having a go and being relentless. Proud Claret tonight.

Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
It’s such a strange season, I’ve never seen the fan base be so divided on their opinions of certain players.
Muric, Trafford, Delcroix, O’Shea, Amdouni, Foster, Tresor, Larsen, Cullen, Brownhill, Vitiniho, Al Dakhil, have split most folk right down the middle.
It makes interesting reading but some folk have really strong views on players abilities, I’ll sound a bit naive and a kiss arse but I’d trust VK if he thinks that certain players have the potential or are good enough to play at the level, even if at times I do scratch my head.

You're right there. Most posters (not all) make their minds up about certain players and it can't be changed whatever they do..Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 8:46 amIt’s such a strange season, I’ve never seen the fan base be so divided on their opinions of certain players.

The Muric / Trafford debate is beyond annoying. They're both the best and worst keepers in the world!
I had to nip out last night so I saw the first half hour and last half hour.
We barely had a kick in the first 25 minutes and it was wave after wave of attack and the game could have been over.
But relatively speaking, this team has improved a hell of a lot over the last month or so.
I can't speak highly enough of O'Shea who I initially thought was our worst signing and it's no coincidence that this has coincided with a much tighter and organised defence.
We're creating a lot more opportunities, if not clear cut chances but need to take the ones like the Amdouni one in the first half.
I personally don't think we've gelled quickly enough to avoid the drop but feel a lot more positive moving forward

I agree, I’ve also been critical of half our squad but I’m also happy to hold my hand up and say, I can see I’ve probably got it wrong and the players have shown they can play at this level.Neil wrote: ↑Sat Jan 06, 2024 9:12 amYou're right there. As most have said, it just looks 9-12 months too early. If we do bounce back with the majority of this squad, I think we would look a different animal.

Wish you hadn't typed that on the weekend before we play them.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Jan 05, 2024 10:45 pmWhat, on strikers?
And we will comfortably finish above them because they are crap.

Don't worry
Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
Like clockwork.
Lot of people on here are in denial regarding how bad we really are.

I feel we have been down since we got beat at home by Palace: my biggest worry is that this team will struggle to finish half way in the Championship next season.

Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
No. That was the thread title for a different game.
If ClaretTony writes the headline for this game as "Blake Scores Volley as Burnley Beat Manyoo" then it will be the wrong title.
I haven't called anybody a name on this forum for longer than I can remember, even in the face of personal abuse but you deserve to be called a twerp.
Just start a thread of your own and give it a relevant title.

I hope that was worth the effort it took to type out, but naturally, nothing but positives tonight.Rowls wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 10:54 pmNo. That was the thread title for a different game.

Re: Nothing But Positives Tonight
The effort for me was nothing. It's just tapping away with my finger tips.
The value in the post is only really for you to learn to grow up.
You're packed for of potential, like any other human being. But if you think bumping irrelevant threads is worth your while then you're wasting that potential.
You can claim you were always doing it "for the lolz" or that trolling was your original intent but that's a sad and pathetic route to take.
I hope you have a think about it because although I stooped and called you a name, I don't doubt that you're far better than this. FWIW I'm utterly pis*ed off with events tonight too but at least keep you personal dignity and your integrity intact.

We were down long before today. Can’t really believe there’s still any discussion about that.Gazclaret83 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2024 10:08 pmHaha. I 100% agree. Luton bossed us for large parts of that game. We're down now unfortunately

Disagree with that entirely that we’d struggle to finish half way up the Championship. This team is absolute levels above anything in the Champ bar Leicester (who will go up anyway). Blows my mind how little fans seem to be able to understand the differences in quality between the leagues.
