Bob Lord stand - incident at Liverpool game

A bit late with this one, mainly due to my son-in-law not forwarding me the link, despite
numerous reminders and promises.

He showed me some short footage of a guy, after the final whistle, clearly the worse for wear, falling down the steps in the stand and then tumbling backwards over a few rows of seats only stopping when he hit
a lady still sat in her seat.

As I say, I was promised a link but nothing has materialised. I seem to remember him mentioning "Turf Talk" ?
Can anyone help with this please ? He also mentioned Face tok or tik book or similar.

Can anyone help out please as I don't do social media ?

What is your objective with the thread? Do you want video evidence? If so, you’re probably best off contacting the club. They have multiple surveillance cameras all throughout the ground and I’m sure they would assist for the right reasons.

Like anywhere nowadays - they won’t be able to give it to you.

For all they know, you could be seeking retribution against the guy who tripped for hurting your friend.

They could send it to the police if they had a direct request from them for a copy.

I suspect you want the footage for one of two reasons - to put in some sort of claim or to try and get the bloke who slipped in trouble/ banned from future games.

Must admit, I'd not be getting myself involved in this one, even if the accident was because he'd had a few, I'd probably feel differently if he'd landed on my daughter and hurt her though.

The only thing clear from that is that there was no safety barrier at the bottom of a steep flight of steps - that is a ground safety issue for both the persons seated and the the one who fell down the steps, as the clip clearly shows it has the potential to be lethal

Any incident rwquiring treatment should have been logged in the stadium incident log.

the club wont share CCTV to just anyone, thats a massive never gonna happen.

it'll have to be requested by the police, if there is an investigation, which is seems there isnt.

he went with some force, bet it hurt both parties, but im not sure what the OP wants to get out of this

How bad is the design of having seats at the bottom of the stairs? I would be moving pronto.
They have a safety barrier at the bottom of stairs in the upper longside. With 3/4 seats then the stairs fork off both ways to the exit.

They've been there for years and years and years.... Why after one incident, which we don't even know what caused it, why would they have to move

I sit in the longside upper and some ****** off his rocker fell coming down the stairs at the end of the Sheff Utd game. He took a bloke out in front of him and they both fell over the seats and onto my 9 year old daughter. This caused her to bend forward and bang her chin on the seat in front. It could have been much worse but luckily as it unfolded I managed to launch the guy off her before she got really squashed.

I didn’t complain (though i was approached by someone from the club) as I was solely focussed on her and making sure she was ok (she was crying) and because at the time I thought I’ve been drunk myself. The lad did try to apologise but again I was solely focussed on her so I ignored him.

But it goes to show it does happen round the ground and rather than a barrier they probably be better stopping those off their heads getting into the stadium or removing them sooner when it’s clear they can’t walk properly.

There is/was a dodgy step at the Madjeski Stadium; it must be a couple of cm higher than the others. Loads of people trip on it.

Building Regulations govern most structures, however you've also got what's known as the Green Guide that applies to sports stadia. This give details about how big the rake (angle) of seating should be, row sizes, concourse areas etc.
