‘Mad as a Hatter’ - food count v Luton (January 12th, 5pm cut-off)
Ladies and gents, please accept my apologies for being late to this crucial ‘Mad as a Hatter’ food count. In all honesty, I had set my phone to remind me to put something up this evening, but that was with the game being played three days later. I forgot to bring that forward by a few days when the game was re-arranged, so thank you to StayingDown4Ever for the reminder.
So this week, I have been in conversation with my good friend and West Yorkshire Clarets Mascot, Rosie, who asked if she could pick this week’s item.
After her selection, I had to refer to redbeard’s famous rule manual and under rule 17.4 the following item has been passed as an edible food stuff…
So this week, Rosie has chosen CRUNCHIES: Earls Oven Baked Assorted Biscuit Shapes (500g).
She would like you to guess how many of each shape there are in the box, and she says that if you have not guessed by 5pm on Friday, then she’s going to start eating her biscuits, as that is the official cut-off time.
Please guess (shape numbers only, colour is irrelevant):
Diamonds:
Hearts:
Bones:
Rectangles (indented):
Ovals:
Circles:
5 points for the closest in each shape category
10 points for anyone who guesses ‘on the nose’ in each category
NO GUESSES FOR GRAND TOTAL this week.
Best wishes
John and Rosie

Thanks to everyone who has joined in with this week’s count. Apologies for only starting it a couple of days ago, but I see that the vast majority of seasoned players have participated. Congratulations to anyone who has collected points during this particular round. Let’s hope that This shower of points, transfers to the pitch tonight! UTC

Thanks for the count! More points for meeeeeeee!
Please can someone post the table when they are over the shock of the match!
Dissapointed not to hold out for 3, the sooner we back in the Championship the better for me

Only just checked the results here - what a guy I am.
Soured my good haul with that shambolic goalkeeping in the game.
Thanks for the count.

Bosscat scores 10 points to take the lead on 67 points. Eloise Laws scores 15 points to move up to joint 4th now on 51. Charlieinnewmexico scores 10 points to move into 5th on 43 with bfcjg scoring 10 to move into 6th on 40 points. Rick_Muller also scores 10 to move into 8th place on 34 points. Last, but definitely not least, a big 20 points sees StayingDown4Ever bound up the table from joint 20th to 11th now on 25 points.
Thanks to jdrobbo for an intriguingly different count. There have been quite a few different scorers so I am happy to submit the updated table for a VAR check. If there are any clear and obvious errors I am confident they will be picked up because that’s what VAR is for, isn’t it ? Otherwise I say what’s the point of it.
A frustrating end to the game. 3 points again eluded us. Still I hope we keep battling in every game but we are going to need things to start going in our favour to stand any chance of staying up. Up the Mighty Clarets come what may.
