Come on there is no agenda on here with Trafford. Also no irony in some crying he doesn't come for balls now crying because he came for one and was fouled. A week after the weird episode of absolving Muric of any involvement in the Spurs goal in the cup too.

He wasn't let's be honest I don't think so anyway & I actually prefer trafford to muric & regarding the foul that within itself is debatable if it was a foul roughly 1 in 3 people thought it wasn't going off the BBC poll so it's hardly conclusive.

I saw a poll where two-thirds thought it was a foul - not that it matters.

Well obviously that's what left when a third don't agree regarding not agreeing I'm definitely not a lone voice in the wilderness & it's not agenda driven because I prefer trafford & if you've noticed I haven't once waded into the boring trafford vs muric debates that have often frequented the forum.
Re: TRAFFORD
There is one very under used word re goalkeepers and that is ‘presence’. Most of the great goalkeepers have it in bucketloads. One of our 2 main keepers has it and one hasn’t. I watched Martinez ( who I don’t particularly like) yesterday and he has it in abundance. The double save yesterday certainly cost Everton 2 points. He just automatically knew where to be to give himself a chance of saving from DCL That was presence and sadly that is what James Trafford is lacking. He is every bit as good a shot stopper as any of the top guys but his starting positions invariably give him problems. He is improving and will no doubt become a great keeper but he should be learning out on loan and not in the Premier League at our expense

Which keeper are you claiming has a presence ? I presume the one we signed from Orient is who you mean ?FCBurnley wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 2:03 pmThere is one very under used word re goalkeepers and that is ‘presence’. Re: TRAFFORD
I’m certainly not fickle. Bit of a cheap shot that in my opinion as I still attend games and still support my club financially and my team on the pitch.
Just because of what he achieved last season shouldn’t exempt him from criticism. Many posters are calling VK stubborn in sticking with his approach and his team selections. I agree with them but feel it is down to his large ego which is keeping us on this path to relegation.
I believe he really thinks that all of a sudden it will just come good and he will be championed for sticking to his guns. Therefore I think he is deluded also. Get your head around it if you can but if you can’t, don’t accuse me of being fickle. It’s a messageboard remember. A messageboard to air views and opinions.
Re: TRAFFORD
May have looked like that at first viewing but I'm certain you can judge the flight of the ball and watch Trafford and be certain he's catching it.quoonbeatz wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 12:29 pmLike I said, might look like that on telly but it's not what happened. He comes out with eyes on the ball the whole time until he's knocked down by probably the strongest player on the pitch deliberately barging into him.
I've watched it a lot of times and seen many angles, he's miles away from the ball
Re: TRAFFORD
If your taking no notice of what I say why quote me and reply to me?
So your agenda is now against me and Muric?
Very odd behaviour.
Your golden boy let the team down you quickly blamed mUric for Amdouni losing possession last week but Trafford makes the biggest error of our season in the biggest game that's two big errors in two big 6 pointers yet you still defend him

How dare you critice do you not realise that it’s impossible for you to be a Burnley fan ,your always moaning ,you have an agenda,we didn’t hear from you season blah blah ,blah ,the only true fans are the ones that never complain,do all the happy clappers think us moaners do it for the good of our heath?,do they not realise that we care ,and do they not realise that this season has been dreadful, and do they remember VK saying we’d get better every game, and do they not know that VK has a vested interest in the scouting system, but hey stop moaning they know best.alwaysaclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 9:11 amChrist, surely you realise people don't get pleasure from this, or at least true fan's don't, we all want our club to be doing well, but there are so many failings this season that are leaving the majority no alternative but to be critical, and the main thing is many of the failings are basic that in my mind are learnt at grass roots level, and if the player's don't possess that, then vk has failed too, and that's the thing that lots are whinging about, no one seems to be learning, including vk.

And the point I would make is that whether JT would have got the ball or not is not the ref's decision to make.

Foul or no foul JT's decision to come and crumble put the decision in the referees hands when he didn't need too.
He gambled on a foul and lost.

You don't get it. The ref has to judge whether it's a foul or not, nothing else.
I think it was a foul. The chaps on TalkCrap this afternoon agree with me. So do plenty of neutrals who watched the game.
Re: TRAFFORD
Don't get what? The referee didn't feel it was a foul, I don't think it was a foul, many Burnley fans and footballs I've spoken too don't think it's a foul, many ex players including Shay Given who was a goalkeeper doesn't think it's a foul and this is where the problem lies. It isn't a clear and obvious error if the general public after viewing it many times still has a split decision.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 9:21 pmYou don't get it. The referee judged it as no foul, JT should never have put that decision in their hands.

No but your on the message board moaning about me.How is it that nobody comes and says what a wonderful game it was and gets hammered by the so called moaners because they don’t moan for moaning sake ,yet as soon as someone moans about a bad result the happy clappers are all over them like a cheap suit.
Re: TRAFFORD
Who's moaning about you? I'm trying to understand what's to be achieved by people continuing to try to blame Trafford and discussing whether it was or wasn't a foul on him? It wasn't given, unfortunately, but what's done is done. Best to get over it and move on..Westleigh wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 10:31 pmNo but your on the message board moaning about me.How is it that nobody comes and says what a wonderful game it was and gets hammered by the so called moaners because they don’t moan for moaning sake ,yet as soon as someone moans about a bad result the happy clappers are all over them like a cheap suit.

Course he is. Him and a couple of others are that devoid of any footballing knowledge that they think the goalkeeper is responsible for every goal conceded. My 9 year old daughter knows better than this .

Re: TRAFFORD
We've had some useless players in our squad over the years but I wouldn't have put Trafford anywhere near the top of the list for the most hated.
Why can't we all agree Trafford is better than Muric and some things and Muric is better than Trafford at other things. Both are Burnley players who are picked by a manager our club employees so surely if we are Burnley fans we support any player who pulls on the shirt, even if we think someone else is better rather than hope for a mistake to lombast or relentlessly defend based on which side of the argument you are on? I really don't want us to turn into a club where a situation like that at Spurs with Hossam Ghaly or Arsenal with Emmanuel Eboue where our own fans boo their own player just because they prefer a different player in their position?!
I genuinely like both goalkeepers and don't think there is much between them, particularly in terms of changing the outcome so far this season (as in if Muric had played all season instead i don't think we would have any more or less points so far).
