So City sold us Muric (who apparently is better than Trafford) but have agreed to buy Trafford back but haven't done the same with Muric.

Kompany who spent years working with Pep was involved in a sickly hug because he is helping City with their finances. The same City who have recently sold players like Palmer, Mahrez, Laporte, Sterling, Jesus & Zinchenko for probably more than 200m but needed to sell Trafford ?

Did they also sell Bazunu for the same reason ?

Muric has not played one league game this season so how do you work that one out?
With my eyes.
Have you played a game in the Premier League this season ?
I’m guessing you haven’t but I’m pretty sure you aren’t good enough either.

It’s just an opinion of course but it’s based on what I have seen from him as a keeper. Just because you move up a level doesn’t mean that you all of a sudden improve the areas you were weak in. If anything as a keeper you are likely to be punished a lot more for your weaknesses when you play better teams.

So basically you have seen Muric play in the premier league and you have seen it with your own eyes.

Ok

English premium has a lot to do with it. Its valuable for UEFA competition requirements, and one of the reasons they keep Scott Carson around the place, after all

No I’ve seen him play in the nets.
Is it really that hard to understand how people can have an opinion on a keeper even if he has not played at a certain level or in a certain league ?
What do you think happened with almost every keeper who was signed by every other club in the PL ?
Think before you post rubbish…..

Are you a bit slow or something you might be suffering from delusions if you think Muric has played in the league this season. What a very odd comment.

When you say they agreed to have Trafford back it implies that if Burnley want shut of him City have agreed to have him back,I would have thought that the deal is that City would have first option if we decide to sell and possibly have an option he we don’t want to sell him if he wants to leave, meaning that City hold all the aces as usual.

It’s an over reaction saying hatred. I’m pretty sure 99.9 % of people don’t hate Trafford it’s just a case of enough is enough. A change is needed exactly what Kompany does with his outfield players on a weekly basis. Just because people say Trafford shouldn’t be starting doesn’t mean we don’t like Trafford or he won’t be our long term goalie he is just struggling and in my opinion only needs a break from the 1st team to then come back refreshed and hopefully better.

Interesting that being compared to someone who supports their players is seen as a bad thing by you, mind.

No hatred just as with Joe Hart under Dyche it just isn’t working and when you’ve only won 3 games in February then surely a change is needed? Thankfully Dyche did it earlier in the season in bringing Heaton back in.

How many more times… heaton was number one. Hart took over when he was injured and Heaton took back over when fit

Couldn’t swear to it but I’m sure either Heaton or Pope were both fit and Hart was still in the nets ,and Pope talks somewhere in an interview getting back into the team when Hart was playing.

Not forgetting the defence, who’d played together for the best part of 2 years previous and had qualified for Europe the year before.

This defence (all 13 variants of it this season) can’t really be expected to change just because Muric gets the gloves.

I’d love to know why but VK decided Muric wasn’t good enough in June. Something must have happened.

Regarding my previous post ,does anyone know if City have the first option on JT or do they have the choice to buy him back whenever ,possibly a bit like Ramsey.

Kompany should have bought Joe Hart and Tom Heaton in January, then he could have played Hart and dropped him for Heaton and we would have stayed up.

Definitely has a buy back clause, although I believe its substantially higher than the fee we paid them. You'd imagine they have first refusal as part of the same clause.

On the football 365 website Trafford ranks 12th out of 26 keepers with Flekken sitting in 26th with the comment “A massive downgrade on Raya”.
Obviously performing out of his skin tonight (first 45 minutes anyway).

Mark Flekken made 9 saves for Brentford in the first half against Manchester City. The most in a full Premier League game all season is 10 saves, by James Trafford, Martin Dubravka and Alphonse Areola.

I agree - but Trafford is the one who has kept us in games - pretty much every week. He has an ever-changing and poorer defence in front of him, yet he receives all the abuse on this board (but not from the wider audience). You can choose most of our players in the side to have a go at, singling out the keeper is massively wrong.

He is not responsible for the change in playing style - he does what he’s told.
I disagree that he keeps us in games pretty much every week.

The one game where he did was definitely Brighton away - without a doubt but that's also a game that had us holding on and being a bit more 'Dyche Burnley' like. If that's the system we want to employ then go for it but then... why pot Dyche?

On actually trying to play a progressive, passing game? I think his inclusion makes us notably worse. Like mind-numbingly obviously worse and just I can't understand the persistence - 23 games in now and all the good aspects of our style of play from last year are pretty much gone when he plays.

Just doesn't have the vision or speed to execute quick passes to get us on the front foot and I'm beyond bored of watching us cocking about with tepid, purposeless play at the back.

Fullback, DM and GK are crucial positions in our team, if we were keeping a good player on the bench in other positions that were more suited for our style then i'm sure that there'd be contention there also.

I genuinely don’t think anyone has a “personal” issue with James. The issue is certain players getting a free pass and starting every game regardless of either their own performances or the need to try something different. Trafford falls into that category.

Same reason roberts wanted to go coz we play an average championship RB ahead of him every week.

VKs stubbornness is the issue, love the guy to bits but he is looking more bizarre each week that goes by tbh.

Or he knows that players grow in confidence and therefore performance like Vithinio and Trafford generally have the more they’ve played.

After the opening games a more settled side has produced far better performances (our gd settled down remarkably).

Every team has a designated number 1 keeper (apart from Brighton) and vk picked his. We also need a capable number 2 that is an injury or suspension away from starting every game.

Allison had one sub par game by his standards.

He's had 6 years of exemplary performances for Liverpool - it's not remotely the same.

Perhaps keeping us in games is a bit too far - as we’re seldom in games. But he’s certainly kept things from getting too embarrassing on a number of occasions

The mind numbing kicking it around is to invite the opposition on to us - Championship sides obliged, but we’re up against wiser teams and we haven’t figured it out. Muric would be better at kicking, there’s no doubt, but because of other weaknesses we’re under continual pressure - so we need our best shot stopper and that is Trafford

My entire point is that one of the reasons as to why we're under continual pressure is because we can't pass through the lines - which starts with the Keeper.

We've seen it at Spurs away the difference, it's like watching two different teams.

We're going down as is - why not at least try and play our game?

Watched Arsenal on Sunday beat Liverpool with 3 or 4 men confined to a small area between the penalty area and the touch line ,did it without even thinking about it ,but that’s why they pay £50 mill + for players that are so comfortable on the ball where our young and experienced players look like they may sh-T themselves under pressure.

We literally lost due to a hospital ball by Muric. People should at least be consistent when criticising.

Didn’t CT ask us to be more friendly towards one another even if we don’t agree, not nasty but not very pleasant saying ‘ the likes of you’ Nori
He did, and quite rightly so, though I don't see how my comment for 1 minute fits any type of abuse, but then again it's not me who was recently banned for being abusive towards another poster,is it?

If I remember correctly, we lost because Amdouni can’t control a football.

Or play a simple pass inside to his teammate.

See,

Not only is that a point of contention on who's 'mistake' it was but it's also not the point.

It's about the rest of the game - how players relate to each other and how they pull together as a collective.

We were far more fluent moving the ball and should have won it in all honesty.

It's not about one off incidents, it's about judging their impact on the team as a whole.

Hart didn't do much wrong when he was in the net, made a ton of saves but it just didn't work.

Just to put the record straight Nori ,it was a comment about you ,I didnt use bad language ,I just posted what I thought about you ,and the comment made to Bumba was just the sort of thing I was calling you out for,and it appears you do have an agenda regarding certain posters who put comments on here that’s not to your liking, and if this is classed as abuse towards you ,then so be it ,but I’ve seen a lot more personal attacks by you on other members.

Couldn't agree more, he's had several posts removed for the way he's spoken to people.
Anything that isn't agreeing with him is an 'agenda' I find it really strange the way him and one or two others see Trafford as this god.
