Trafford 7 - did remarkably well until the goal. It did look a foul but he also looked very weak.
Vitinho 6 - terrible first half hour but did improve and did at least care
O’Shea 8 - stood up well to Luton’s physicality
Ekdal 7 - same as above, just out muscled a couple of times
Al-Dakhil 5 - his tendency to tuck in being a natural centre half left Ogbene with too much space
JBG 5 - cares at least, but quality not there tonight
Cullen 6 - fine, but outclassed by Barkley and Lokonga
Brownhill 6 - as above
Odobert 6 - plus 1 for brilliant assist, but otherwise not enough involvement and certainly nowhere near enough defensive cover provided
Amdouni 5 - great finish but the shift he put in can’t be described as acceptable.
Foster 6 - nothing came off but the tremendous shift he put in should be the norm for Burnley players, not the exception

Roberts 5 - looked like he hadn’t played in a while

This game was the last game to offer some genuine hope really, and we were fine for large parts, but Luton won the midfield battle hands down and we have too many players who don’t want to work hard for the team and that’s obviously seen as acceptable because it’s been happening a lot this season.

I honestly don't know what people have against JBG........he played well.
He spurned two excellent opportunities - the shot where he doesn’t get hold of it, and the chance when he just needed to play it in across the box and he shanked it up. Good free kick chance wasted as well with a poor effort. Other than that, what are you left with?

Trafford 6 - standard keeping throughout
Vitinho 6 - if he had a football brain he’d be playing for a top 6 side.
O’Shea 7 - solid on the whole against a physical front line
Ekdal 7 - some really good bits of composure coming out from the back and relatively solid. Should be starting.
AAD 5 - played out of position but constantly watching that Barkley ball fly over his head to Ogbene.
Brownhill 5 - battles but complete lack of quality
Cullen 6 - ticked over
Gudmundsson 5 - missed a good chance and waned hugely in second half
Amdouni 4 (+1 for the goal) - should have come off way earlier. Offered absolutely nothing and I think he lost the ball 90% of the time he had it. It’s so frustrating because he’s clearly one of the most talented players we’ve ever had at Turf but we can’t keep him in the team for 10 minutes of a player and 80 minutes of a shadow.
Foster 7 - runs and runs and runs. The only player who looked like he wanted it tonight in my opinion.
Odobert 6 - gave it his all but a tough game tonight
Roberts 6 - couple of good clearing headers

Kompany 3 - Blame VAR all we want but for me this solely lies at Kompany’s door again. If we don’t switch to a back 5 and we replace JBG and Amdouni earlier we go on to win that 2/3-0. Invited pressure and reduced our attacking threat to be on the counter from 70 minutes on. That is absolutely criminal when we’re playing relegation rivals at home in a “must win” game. Bringing Cork on in the 95th minute sums it up.

I wasn’t able to go to the Everton game so I can’t base against that but for me, that was the worst home performance of the season all things considered. Injuries aside, we were completely disjointed, unable to pick a pass and that first 30 minutes was unbearable.

Trafford 7 much better in the air tonight. No real shots to save
Vitinho 6 thought he was OK, apart from one major gaffe first half his flank was pretty quiet and covered well at left back.
O'shea 6
Ekdal 7 best of the back 4 dealt with Adebayo and Morris well for the most part and cleaned up effectively
Al Dakhil 5 terrifying start, losing the flight of the ball or their winger with the diagonal ball time and time again in the first half. Improved as the game went on.
Cullen 6 some good, some poor passes, ratted well in 2nd half
Brownhill 6 as above
Odobert 6 (7 forward 5 defense) has the skills going forward to get in behind but needs to do it more against a big defensive unit. Not enough desire to help out the defense.
JBG 6 opposite to Odobert, disappointed with his forward end product but supported Vitinho
Amdouni 6?? this guy is a real conundrum, some lovely touches and foot work, but too much loss of possession and his pressing is not of the required standard - needs to be much more aggressive. At the moment is probably a luxury we can't afford. Maybe fofana will be the answer
Foster 7 put in a real shift and battled well despite being outnumbered, you can't fault his commitment. Passing and link up play a bit of though

Having watched the goal back i I’ve overmarked Al Dahkil with a 6. All the controversy with the foul on Trafford has helped him escape the fact he (as a centre half) fails to make any attempt to jump, challenge appropriately, head the ball giving Morris a free header.

As I mentioned on the Trafford thread, neither he nor Ekdal covered themselves in glory for the goal

Trafford 6 shame how it ended
Vitinho 5 ropey
Ekdal 7 nice to have him back
O Shea 8 continues to improve
Al Dakhill 5 out of position
Odobert 6 good
Brownhill 6 good
JBG 5 not his night
Cullen 7 played well but we have problems with our midget midfield when most weeks we are competing in the land of the giants

Amdouini 6 goal and did ok
Foster 7 we are better when he plays and adds physicality in a powderpuff lightweight ( in general) team

Not a few at performance. Hanging on and going long (not very well).

Keeper, needs to be replaced for urgency and try to remove the slowness.

From TV, so nearly some very good scores but still we miss to many opportunities, at least the defense is looking better now bar the odd clanger!

Trafford 7 some madness costs us or would have been an 8/9, he was definitely fouled/impeded though, still feeling robbed though.

Trafford shouted it was his ball so neither of the centre halves jumped to avoid getting in his way. If he isn't fouled, Trafford claims that ball with ease.
