Padiham v Isle of Man
Anyone need a football fix today go and support your local non league team who are at home 1pm kick off.
1/2 entry for Burnley season ticket holders.
The Storks are in a magnificent run of form only being beaten 2 times in the last 17 games.
Hope Padiham can do better than the last time Burnkey played Isle of Man eh

Comfortable 3-1 victory for Padiham.
Quite a few of the Helmond lads were up as well.

Should have been out sight at half time, weather was terrible for second half.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:41 pmComfortable 3-1 victory for Padiham.

Mozzy got a settled team now if they keep this run of form up they could easily make the play offs.

They’d need to win most of their remaining games. Think they are currently six points adrift and have played a couple more than the sides above them too.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:49 pmShould have been out sight at half time, weather was terrible for second half.

Not sure how James missed that open goal in the first half

Got top of the league Wythenshawe Town at home Tuesday. Be a test to see how good they are.StayingDown4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 3:53 pmThey’d need to win most of their remaining games. Think they are currently six points adrift and have played a couple more than the sides above them too.

Good win for Padiham.
My lads went up to watch. Every time I go up they seem to lose, so I've accepted I'm a jinx for them and stay away.

Re: Padiham v Isle of Man
Enjoyed it this afternoon. I thought Padiham were going to stroll to a huge win the way they started.
Was very close to the incident that saw Dave Lynch and the IOM player clash heads. It was horrible to see and thankfully both were able to get up although Lynchy did come off soon after.

Must be hard work for the IOM team playing with three legs.

I had no idea there was two teams.
How’s a small place like that ended up with two teams competing at a pretty good level?

Neither did I until a couple of weeks ago when I spotted that George Boyd wasn't playing, totally unaware I'd got the wrong team.Bordeauxclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 9:14 pmI had no idea there was two teams.

Glad it wasn’t just me then. I’ve checked their team for the last few weeks.

Paul Weller got Colne on a decent run as well. Won 7 nil away today.

Re: Padiham v Isle of Man
Are any of Colne, Nelson, Padiham and Barnoldswick in the same league?
My knowledge of lower league football is rubbish - who is the best (and worst) out of that little lot, and how far from Conference North are any of them?

Ta. So where is the winner of Northwest Counties Premier promoted to? A (brief) google search doesn't really help overmuch.

Re: Padiham v Isle of Man
If Padiham get promoted this season they'll go into Northern Premier League, Division One West.distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 10:10 pmTa. So where is the winner of Northwest Counties Premier promoted to? A (brief) google search doesn't really help overmuch.
Another promotion then into Northern Premier League, then promoted again in National League North.
So they're basically 3 tiers below National League North.

Colne have had the better recent history, Nelson been a poor side for quite a while now.distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 9:45 pmAre any of Colne, Nelson, Padiham and Barnoldswick in the same league?

It all changes regularly though, you find players move around clubs quite a lot for an extra £10 a week, it’s all down to which clubs have the biggest budget, just like professional football.
I watched Barlick for a few years when my mate captained them but I’ve no idea what they’re like this season

Barlick seem to have changed their manager loads recently. Ben Hall is back there now, they're hovering around mid table.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 8:35 amColne have had the better recent history, Nelson been a poor side for quite a while now.

To the point where you can’t keep up with it. Often if a manager moves he takes half the players with him.

I've got out of the habit of watching Padiham. I should make the effort when it is reduced admission for Burnley season ticket holders.
I agree that there is a huge number of incoming & outgoing players and management staff from season to season.

It only cost me £4 without the season ticket discount so I was happy to pay that. Contactless payment too.Dressinggown wrote: ↑Sun Jan 14, 2024 4:53 pmI've got out of the habit of watching Padiham. I should make the effort when it is reduced admission for Burnley season ticket holders.
