Mark Clattenburg
Referee on the new Gladiators.
Less of a pantomime than becoming a VAR I suppose.

I didn't know that was his son. He's a prick too then by default.

I used to like this show when I was about ten.
It’s not a patch on Ninja Warrior now.

Re: Mark Clattenburg
I missed the second half because took the dog for a walk.
I like that they've not tinkered much with the format. I remembered that Sky One rebooted about a decade ago, I think Paul Durkin was the referee. This version looked better than that version at least.
I won't be making the effort to watch it again though

Re: Mark Clattenburg
Edit - Paul Durkin didn't ref the Sky Version. I’m misremembering.
He was a ref in a show called Simply the Best with Kirsty Gallagher. Who also hosted the Sky version of Gladiators.

I quite enjoyed it
Re: Mark Clattenburg
Enjoyed it a lot, glad they kept the same format but agree it would have been great to bring the fash back for it.
Re: Mark Clattenburg
I enjoyed it. Like Bradley Walsh but his son is proper boring.
Re: Mark Clattenburg
Walsh, entertaining on other stuff looked all at sea on this, clearly took the gig as a vehicle to get his mini me some exposure. Based on last night, his lad needs to be kept well away from the 'family business '.

The world really has gone full circle.
Once upon a time the BBC was making hard-hitting dramas like 'Mr Bates v The Post Office' and ITV was peddling garbage like 'Gladiators'.

It was a bit of lighthearted Saturday night fun. Everything doesn’t have to be hard hitting dramas.

I went to Birmingham to watch Gladiators in 1994. It was a great day out!

Re: Mark Clattenburg
All the miserable wankers in this thread must have known they wouldn't enjoy Gladiators and watched it anyway. An odd way to live.
Re: Mark Clattenburg
Didn't see it last night but great memories of Saturday night TV as a kid watching Gladiators followed by Blind Date

Re: Mark Clattenburg
Watched it out if curiosity, is that ok with you.
I hate you more than that Bradley Walsh fella.

Re: Mark Clattenburg
Gladiators is aimed at an audience slightly different to the demographic on here hence the early evening Saturday slot. This can be seen by the majority of kids in the audience waving their foam fingers, and holding up bits of card with their favourite Gladiator names on them.
I watched and enjoyed it for what it is "a bit of fun thats not to be taken seriously"
