Redmond
Redmond looks to of had surgery on his knee, could explain lack of minutes and they have decided to just get the operation done

Re: Redmond
I don’t think it’s his knee but I believe we won’t see him again this season

Re: Redmond
This is who I mentioned in the Luton Matchday thread that I’d heard was out for the season.
Really sad for him and wishing him a speedy recovery.

Hope he makes a full recovery, but FFS another wasted wage.

Does a revised squad list get resubmitted after the last day of the winter transfer window? If so, does that give the option to remove players ruled out for the remainder of the season, from the 25 man squad?

Re: Redmond
Anyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. Something doesn't seem right at Barnfield, we miss a lot of players very often.

Never seen quite so many players out 'ill', as opposed to injured.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:33 pmAnyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. Barnfield is the cricket field stand. Something is definitely not right in there.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:33 pmAnyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. I agree, but also as we have seen with Tresor, the Belgium league and the PL are very different kettles of fish.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:33 pmAnyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. Ekdal
Beyer
Vitinhio
Roberts
Koleosho
Cork
Twine
And probably more all seem to have had long term injuries over the last season and a half.

Agreed-every game there is a surprise omision for whatever reason. Fortunately the majority of our injuries ,other than Koleosho and now Redmond, have not been serious and lengthy, but the frequency of other injuries has been quite concerningVegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:33 pmAnyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. Re: Redmond
As far as I’m aware, yes. So this is one spot that can be taken by another player for the second half of the season.

Re: Redmond
Yes. Was talking about this at the weekend. We seem to be picking up a lot of injuries - good job we’ve got a huge squad. Something amiss with training methods or are we just signing players who aren’t robust enough?Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:33 pmAnyone remember in the documentary when VK told the team in his first meeting the availability rate for his players at Anderlecht was in the high 90 percent. Re: Redmond
This really is the season that just keeps on giving doesn't it!
Re Benson do we know if he's been injured on and off or just out of favour? Can't get my head round his lack of being on the bench.

Fofana's 21, does that make him under the age limit to be counted in the 25?Jakubs Tash wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 8:55 pmYes, he needs to take a spot in the 25 but I think there’ll be a few spots to fill with departures or some players will just be left out altogether.

Re: Redmond
To be fair, Churlinov got blood poisoning after the season had finished, not really an injury/illness picked up whilst on Burnley duty.

No. Loan players have to count even if under 21.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:17 pmFofana's 21, does that make him under the age limit to be counted in the 25?

Torn hamstring for Redmond
Re: Redmond
Hope he makes a speedy recovery but cost per minutes on the pitch must be astronomical for little overall impact. A borrow and casual spend policy.

Re: Redmond
Not good news. Can’t believe we’ve hardly used him to be honest.
Re: Redmond
Can't believe we are actually going to need our 8 wingers
Re: Redmond
It’s happen fate ,with 10 games to go we’ll be down to Zaroury and Benson, and they’ll score enough goals to keep us up.

Re: Redmond
It’s not just us, there’s lots of teams reporting more injuries than normal.
I read speculation that it may be an effect of shortened break after Covid season followed by compressed schedule for World Cup season.
Could also be more intense running now that high press has become the default.

He’s in the dugout for Nottingham Forest tonight.

Re: Redmond
He's a good player. I'd have preferred him over Bruun Larsen with his PL experience but on the other hand I do understand VK giving playtime to Koleosho JBG Odobert and Tresor. And Bruun has been performing well too, many fans wanted him to be in the starting 11 even.pureclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 7:48 pmtheres more than 8 whingers on here
I dont feel he has shown his best form for us but perhaps as a few others not getting game time to get up to speed
Tough decisions. Anyway speedy recovery for the man.

Re: Redmond
If we drop, and I remain of the view that it is an if, Redmond could be perfect in the league below to help us blow teams away, if playing with a Koleosho, Gudmundsson and Foster in a front four (choosing players who may be likely to be here still). We will need experience and I would hope Kompany uses it like with Barnes.
It’s players of his calibre who would keep us as good as what LCFC are this season.
Best wishes to him on his recovery.

Re: Redmond
No, the club take out insurance. Insurance will pay his, and all the other long term injured wages. I'm sure it costs the club a hefty chunk of cash to pay for the insurance, and after the number of injuries across the PL this season I'm sure it will be an even bigger chunk next season, whatever division we are in.
