Blackburn rovers finances at mercy of judge in india
Report on how Blackburn might struggle if an Indian judge refuses venkys special dispensation https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwe ... e-in-india
Re: Blackburn rovers finances at mercy of judge in india
I hope they don’t get permission and Rovers get destroyed as a result.

Exactly this. At best we’ll have one season to get promoted if (when) we’re relegated before we implode.

Reading that article, it seems that PNE are struggling too. £15.5m in, £21.5m spends.

Its a post to highlight the financial issues facing the b'turrrrds. Cant we just leave it at that.
They gobbed off at us for years when we were struggling. So I for one could not give a shiny shi-ite if they are royally screwed. They've been artificially propped up by other peoples money for far to long and if it comes to a sticky end, so be it.
If they hadn't been such arrogant tossers I might have a slightly different opinion (MIGHT) but those of us that had to listen to them for years will all agree.

People like Paul Waine and Chester Perry will know far more than me, but I've long suspected that the money Venkys pour into the black hole which is Rovers was some kind of tax mitigation "scheme" (at best) or money laundering (at worst) because otherwise it makes very little sense given the lack of success on the field. It looks like others may now be querying this too!

We've been much better than them for years (they haven't scored a goal against us in donkeys years) but even so, I can't bring myself to be a magnanimous as you.
If it was any other club I would be more sympathetic. I have zero for them.

I don’t want Rovers to fold. Just have a very very dark time.
It would be nice to see Accrington become their more realistic rivals for twenty years as payback for the ‘glory days’ when they mocked us for our Derby games against Rochdale and Bury.
Blackburn Rovers… hated in their own town from their earliest days; they certainly shed no tears killing Darwen, Accrington FC or Olympic and tried to do the same to Burnley, Preston and Bolton over the years.
Hope they rot.

Re: Blackburn rovers finances at mercy of judge in india
Hi Dark Cloud, sorry I've no idea why Venkys continue to put money into Blackburn Rovers. I've never spent any time looking at Rovers' accounts. However, whatever Venkys are doing it's not a "tax mitigation scheme." If a business is losing money the best the parent company can do is rack up those losses to offset against any future profits in the same subsidiary's business. As for money laundering that's all about changing "bad money" into "clean money" by a process of layering which requires many, many steps and between a number of supposedly separate entities.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2024 12:50 pmPeople like Paul Waine and Chester Perry will know far more than me, but I've long suspected that the money Venkys pour into the black hole which is Rovers was some kind of tax mitigation "scheme" (at best) or money laundering (at worst) because otherwise it makes very little sense given the lack of success on the field. There are (at least) 92 clubs in the full time professional football pyramid and across 4 divisions. Keeping your place in the pyramid may be thought of as success rather than failure. Of course, all fans have ambitions. I'm always puzzled why some would prefer Burnley were playing in the Championship rather than the Premier League.

Football fans want football clubs not business and finance opportunities and the closest to the old top division is the Championship, not Premier League middle class theatre.

Burnley need to be in the Premier League however fans may not like it.
Burnley need the Sky money £100 million to survive
Promotion from the Championship in two years after relegation is a must as after that the money is peanuts .

We saw that when we sold Rodriguez over ten years ago, that with crowds of 11-13,000 and a squad budget in the bottom half of the Championship, we'd still need in excess of £7 million to break even.
It is so easy for clubs to overstretch themselves or need outside investment on a continual basis to survive. That's survive not be competitive.

The amount of abuse and s**t we've taken from the unwashed down the road over the years, i've absolutely no sympathy for them.
that being said...20/1 for them to be relegated this season is very tempting! hopefully to the NW counties!

What should truly worry every football fan is the financial control the TV Companies have over the PL. Eventually the insane amount they are paying and therefore charging their customers cannot go on for ever. Fire sticks might just be the start of the rot

Re: Blackburn rovers finances at mercy of judge in india
That’s been said many times in the past.
Do think that we have seen the ceiling though on tv money but the decline will probably be gradual giving clubs (in theory) enough time to plan.
There’s also going to be a number of clubs with stadiums of at least 60k. Little known fact but the PL team with biggest capacity in London is now West Ham.
Clubs like United generate nearly as much in corporate hospitality revenue than Burnley do in TV income.
So clubs are realising that they need to spread income rather than rely just on TV revenues. Down side for Burnley is that TV revenue whilst we are in PL will always be a massive percentage of our total revenue.

As much as I am weary of ALK, at least they are fully engaged in the Burnley Football Club. They are based at Turf Moor and walk amongst everyone involved on a daily basis and are present on matchdays.
Most of the clubs with major issues are seen to have a faceless board with much more pressing business interests elsewhere.

Very pleasant reading.
There will be no tears from me however far they fall. As far as I am concerned they will always be our main rivals whatever league they are in. When these clowns had their very short period of success there were sections of their fanbase who genuinely believed that Man Utd were their main rivals.
I sometimes think that maybe my view of their support is prejudiced because of our rivalry but I genuinely believe that they are one of the most arrogant, self entitled, deluded set of fans that I have come across.

You have to laugh at the lonsdale clad sport direction goons.
Dopey Glen has a dosier that could bring the Venkys down and get them out the club, shamefully he decided to keep it for personal reading than release it.
Wayne Wild was even worse with his actions. They have bitched and moaned for years about wanting them out. from boycotts until they draw Man Utd or Liverpool in a cup tie, to turning up late to a game to make the viewing 25k have pity on them and used every excuse going for not attending apart from being a plastic.
Reading have done more in 15 minutes than they have in 10 years, Reading gutless turds.
I hope they fold but very slowly, they could play Chorley boxing day & New Years day and the plastics who jumped on with Jacks money living in Preston , Chorley and South Ribble can make a decision.

The level of delusion from Den on brfcs
"If Venky's truly wanted the very best for our club, they should take a step back, look at the current situation regarding their ownership and difficulties in funding the club - and begin the process of looking for the right people, with the right backing, to take over from them - thereby taking as much risk out of this situation as possible. If not now, when?"
(Ring, ring, ring...)
Businessman: Hello?
Agent: I represent a party interested in selling a famous English Football Club with a rich history, including a Premier League title, though admittedly, it's currently at the Championship level.
Businessman: I'm a serious businessman looking to make plenty of money from my investment; please get to the point and stop wasting my time.
Agent: Listen, it's a promising project; the club has a solid foundation, a decent youth setup, and the potential to return to the Premier League with the proper management. Your investment could yield significant returns over time.
Businessman: Now I'm listening.
Agent: This club has a dedicated local fan base, though the current board somewhat disheartens them—there's room for growth. The stadium, however, hasn't seen significant updates since the mid-90s, and it's showing signs of wear and tear.
Businessman: Can the stadium's capacity be expanded?
Agent: Probably not, but it can currently hold 30,000 spectators, average attendance is half that at the moment.
Businessman: Is it situated in a favourable catchment area though?
Agent: Well, at least ten other professional clubs are within a 50-mile radius.
Businessman: I see. How much is it?
Agent: Clearing the existing debts is 163 million pounds.... Hello?

Re: Blackburn rovers finances at mercy of judge in india
I have massive admiration for the large majority of Blackpool fans who starved the Oystons of any further money until they left, to the initial detriment of their club falling all the way back to the fourth tier. Eventually though their actions worked and they got THEIR club back.
Rovers fans can't even boycott properly, so therefore aren't really as committed to getting their club back as they claim, or just maybe without the Venky family propping them up financially they'd already be in the doldrums with Rochdale and Oldham etc etc.

'Blackburn used to have a decent team back in the day; I remember the good times when we were the best team in the land in the 90's. One of the bad times was when we watched ******* Burnley win the league at our place; we went bust shortly after that.'
It's likely someone is going to say that one day. Horrible.

Not this time, chickens can't fly

What that story does highlight is just how much money the much derided venkys have stumped up to keep the turds afloat.
How thick have you got to be to give them stick after they've shovelled in the best part of £200M. Absolute bells the lot of 'em. 'We want our roverrrrs back' shout the gurning simpletons. Well show us your money then, and it's all yours. Thought not.
This after 'uncle jack' pampered them for years. They are utterly deluded. I honestly think they could drop down another league or two and we could be playing regularly in the Prem and they'd still somehow think they were superior to us. It's weird how brain washed some of them are.
