I can never understand why anyone would want our closest rival to go out of business and cease to exist.

What is:

Tom without Jerry
Popeye without Bluto
Batman without the Joker
Den Perry without Brian Potter

It's rubbish, that's what it is. I want our rivals there, just to beat.
Rovers without sugar daddy?

“For three consecutive FA Cup wins, they are the only club in English football awarded the unique honour of displaying their club crest on all four corner flags.”

There's no evidence that this is true

Yes I came upon him while researching the origins of the football league for an academic essay. Funny enough he was not referenced… even though I did include snippets from some fans of clubs that could be accompanied by academic references…

Deluded is a very well chosen synopsis of his work.

I wouldn't want them to fold, just suffer irreversible long term damage that sees them bump around leagues 2 and the conference. The team surviving in all but name as a hollow husk that their supporters have to eventually come to terms with

Personally I get more pleasure beating them on the pitch when we can, rather than seeing them face oblivion.

What a set of saddos,I’d forgotten how chuffing irritating they were ,I had an engineering comp before I retired and dealt with companies from the Blackburn and Accy area and most of the engineers I got work from were Bastards fans it still makes my flesh crawl how I had to be nice to them on a Monday morning.

Benefactor FC.

It’s always been boom and bust for them through their history. As sure as night follows day, a benefactors cash generally follows with them being in financial distress a decade or two later.

They’ve had benefactors littered through their history. From their middle class supported beginnings with silverware buying via the illegal payment of players en masse which gained them FA Cup success when it was a smaller comp, and which probably gave them a head start when the league was formed for further cup success, to Lawrence Cotton (the Pre-WW1 Jack Walker) in the 1910’s and those title buying years breaking British transfer records left right and centre, onto the 1990’s and Walker’s title buying which has been well documented following the same blueprint.

There’ll probably be another benefactor along in a couple of decades or so and this period will be forgotten like the rest.

Oh please, please, HMRC, issue a winding up order on the Turds. 💩 It would be marvellous to see some of the great unwashed bleating on our TVs about what the Bastards mean to them, and how it is all so unfair. Let them stand outside grounds on match days shaking and rattling tins. I for one would make a donation, I’ve been looking to get rid of some rusty old washers for ages.

PHOOK EM. I hope they fold, the sooner the better.

UTC.

That is up there with the scene in Twin Town.
“Why do Swansea have square flags on their corner posts and Cardiff have triangles”?
“Because Cardiff won the FA Cup”.

I've not got any sympathy for any club that has lived way above their means for ages and derided those around them who, at the time had little money

I have little sympathy for Reading FC either, a manufactured club who should have spent the main bulk of their time around league 2

Odd club Reading. They bang on about that 106 points tally far too much. Hopefully Leicester beat it this year so we can hear the end of it.

The coffin thing is probably when they were relegated in 2017. Whenever Rovers or North End are relegated there’s a coffin in club colours buried in the cellar of a club in Bamber Bridge. Been a tradition since 1948.
