Venky's must be quivering at the thought of this.
A 6ft banner, that'll show them.

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
What these brain donors don't realise is that even if the Venky's left tomorrow, wrote off all the debt and sold the club for £1, there won't be a queue of people wanting to take over a club losing hundreds of thousands of pounds a week (400k a week in 21/22).
It's a bottomless pit that the Venky's keep feeding.

After letting their captain go out on loan and their run of results can they afford to can JDT?

It's interesting that at 15,428 their average gate is the lowest in the Division except for soon to be relegated Rotherham.
So thanks to the Venkys they are actually punching well above their weight in terms of income.

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
Imagine the prospect of facing a protest from the most gutless spinless fan base in the country.
Even Reading have shown more fight than the most self entitled lot. Just a shame they didn't draw Man Utd or Liverpool at home again to show everyone else just how plastic they are.

1. The ultimate aim is for Venky's to sell the club to ownes who are present.
3. If there is no response from the initial aims, (so presumably to Venkys selling the club) the protest movement enters it's next phase.
Ohhh very fiendish is this...... "At that point I will get out my 6 foot banner" Is this poster for real???

Didn't they do something weird once a few year back where they announced they were going all make a late entrance for a game on Sky to highlight how hard done to they are and about 20 turned up during the first half.

Perhaps the terrifying prospect of a six foot banner could be used in Ukraine to frighten the Russians into leaving.

They should be careful what they wish for. Probably not a massive queue of potential owners who want to take on a loss making business.

15,428 is a decent average for the Championship. Didn't we get promoted with fewer watching us in 2014?ClaretLoup wrote: ↑Wed Jan 24, 2024 11:28 pmIt's interesting that at 15,428 their average gate is the lowest in the Division except for soon to be relegated Rotherham.

I’m sure we could find someone to hire a plane pulling a banner behind it over deadwood with a message on it to rile up the few who attend?

Their average gate is surprisingly high tbh, although artificially bumped up from the games with Leeds and PNE

They are artificially inflated.
They reckon about 6k were actually in attendance for the Huddersfield game.

“ 1. The ultimate aim is for Venky's to sell the club to new owners who are present, communicate with the fans and have the best interests of the club & fans at heart, and
the community it is part of.”
There's the first stumbling block…
The delusion that they think someone out there has the money to buy the club and its debts and treat it as a priority is astonishing.
The aim should be just for Venkys to engage more in the club

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
They were very fortunate that Venkys bought the club. Walker Trust were delighted and Venkys must now have massive regrets. Can't imagine a Wrexham style takeover at Deadwood and surely the saner types who support them must realize this.

Don't really understand the criticism of anti-Venky Rovers fans. They bought an established Premier League club and turned it into a crap Championship team (with a stint in League One thrown in). It's a disgrace that that club runs with such losses and under decent owners it wouldn't.

I'm hoping the Venky's sell to a Notts County/Oldham/Barnet/Darlington type ownership group/individual.

Just a duplicate from the transfer rumour thread, but apparently they have turned down an £18.5m bid from Crystal Palace for Adam Wharton. They must be expecting to be able to get even more money for him to turn that down.

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
Blackburn Rovers aren't big enough to spend decades in the PL they were always going to fall from grace once the Walker money had either gone or the PL became so big it was no longer a factor.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:58 amDon't really understand the criticism of anti-Venky Rovers fans. The losses are incurred because the Venky's throw £20 million into them every season because otherwise they aren't really big enough to be at the top of the Championship either.....

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
Is that logic not entirely backwards? The losses aren't incurred because Venky's throw money in. Venky's throw money in because they are running the club at a massive loss. Because the club is not being run well. The solution to that it not Venky's forever, it is better owners.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 10:29 amBlackburn Rovers aren't big enough to spend decades in the PL they were always going to fall from grace once the Walker money had either gone or the PL became so big it was no longer a factor.

Re: Get ready for protests down the M65
Virtually every team in the Championship runs at massive losses, it's nothing to do with the owners (other than they all keep subsidising it). For the past 5 years total wages in the Championship have been higher than total revenues.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:58 amDon't really understand the criticism of anti-Venky Rovers fans. Preston are a good example, generally around mid-table each year but still need big subsidies from their owner.

I didn't think about that. Quite a few Championship teams have huge away followings given the possibility. The away fans there must make so much more noise than Rovers'.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 25, 2024 9:04 amTheir average crowd is vastly inflated by giving away teams up to 7000 tickets, unlike anybody else in the division.
