Poor player in this team but would excel in one that is dominating the ball I feel. Like for us, next season in the Championship. I cannot see someone buying him for a fee we’d see as worthwhile - he’s not done enough.

We’re 500/1 for a draw
Re: Thread for tonight?
Fact that Fofana actually tries to do something and instantly becomes our MOTM tells you everything you need to know about this game.

We look like beginner level AI on Fifa. We jog back. We jog alongside. No challenge. Just so passive. Normally reducing a side's failings to a lack of effort is totally reductive but **** me this team is cowardly. Not arsed about losing against this lot but it is the attitude on display. Same against Luton. Our attitude has been abject

Please, we are down as is.
Please can we go 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 with the mad man in net.
At least make it semi entertaining. We are absolutely putrid

Opposition aside, as tonight is a pointless exercise...
I think this has got to be the softest, most unlikeable Burnley team I've seen. There just doesn't seem to be any passion, pride or grit. I know it's an unquantifiable thing but you can sense it can't you? All footballers at this level are pampered - Mee and Tarkowski for example included. But this is the first time I can think of where that pampering has been obvious on the pitch. Feels like the last thing most of them want to do is play for Burnley.

This is as usual the standard most pathetic post of the night and of the season “if you don’t like it go and watch Rovers”it’s like having a bloody nodding dog in the back of the car, when I was working we used to call them yes men

Re: Thread for tonight?
Amdouni per 90 minutes is outscoring, among others, Calvert Lewin, Doku, Antonio and Hojlund.
Same goals as Rashford and Jesus. All non penalty stats. Off topic and out of interest, Chris Wood outscores Haaland on that non penalty goal per minute stat this season.
Its a notorious league to get goals in, Amdouni’s skill is ensuring he gets chances, his finishing and judgement can be ropey, but that can improve.

Re: Thread for tonight?
Berge is wasted sitting him mega deep, he is so much better carrying the ball.
Don't know why he is so often played in that deep role.

Re: Thread for tonight?
Disappointed with berge tonight very little involvement in possession
Re: Thread for tonight?
Aye, that's it, why shoot when you can pass one more time.

Well maybe this will suit you better:
If it hurts you this badly perhaps support a club that rarely gets beaten?
Or give up with football, it's only a game.
I genuinely feel for you.

Perhaps they realise that being at Burnley is just a short term project as far as they are concerned.Pickles wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 8:56 pmOpposition aside, as tonight is a pointless exercise...

As soon as they show promise and increase their player value they will be sold on for a profit.

Re: Thread for tonight?
This is exactly why I felt our priority should be a strong defensive midfielder; Berge would be better further upfield (IMO)burnleymik wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 8:59 pmBerge is wasted sitting him mega deep, he is so much better carrying the ball.

Which is fine by me owing to the fact that other clubs have made this strategy a success. However, what our lot need to understand is that the big money opportunities won’t come if you are constantly s**t!!kentonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 9:00 pmPerhaps they realise that being at Burnley is just a short term project as far as they are concerned.

Got to just laugh at O'Shea getting caught out by Haaland there. He's being charged down and just does not react, completely clueless.

I know it won't make any difference tonight , but his substitutions do baffle/ annoy me . Why bring Ramsey and Roberts on when he could give Massengo a go ?

Re: Thread for tonight?
Isn’t that what a relegation threatened team can look like at times? We see it so often in other teams. That’s why I never criticise effort or desire because we have no idea what is really going on in their heads. Shell shocked is how I would describe us at times this season.Pickles wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 8:56 pmOpposition aside, as tonight is a pointless exercise...
