Don't know why he is so often played in that deep role.

To be fair, you are generally very positive. I suspect you probably regard the teams jock straps to be the most fragrant in the PL.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 9:03 pmIsn’t that what a relegation threatened team can look like at times? We see it so often in other teams. That’s why I never criticise effort or desire because we have no idea what is really going on in their heads. Shell shocked is how I would describe us at times this season.

Re: Thread for tonight?
I understand certain quality of players fair enough but any professional football player can run for the ball.
when we have it Alvarez just runs after it and wants to get it back or create some kind of panic for the team to get it back
We don’t run whatsoever to get the ball back, letting one of the strikers run for the ball shouldn’t disjoint the position of the whole team and arguably we are getting picked off anyway so why not sacrifice a player to go get the ball instead of letting teams have it and get picked off anyway

Re: Thread for tonight?
To be honest 3-0 is better than I expected after that first 20 mins.
I am just hoping beyond hope that we really turn up for the Fulham match. It's make or break now.

If it’s only a game I don’t know why you come on this board ,it matters to some of us ,but you say it’s only a game ,but then tell someone to go and watch Rovers, there’s no logic in your comments ,anyhow I hope you’ve had pleasant evening as you only think it’s a gameboatshed bill wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 9:00 pmWell maybe this will suit you better:
If it hurts you this badly perhaps support a club that rarely gets beaten?
Or give up with football, it's only a game.

This match aside in which I only expected a drubbing I’ve no idea what they do all week and from week to week. Wonder how much the set piece coach is paid ? Based on what I’ve seen this season he’s useless. At least Pace will be pleased that the project is on track.

Re: Thread for tonight?
I think that run of really hard home games made them think “crikey, this league is tougher than I thought”. Particularly our defenders and Cullen. We were OK further forward. Add to that a bit of naive tactics and players looked overwhelmed, as you say from day 1.
What they have done though is carve out some good performances, particularly since Everton at home.
Re: Thread for tonight?
Zaroury just done more in one run than Odabert and JBG did put together all match

"How many times have we seen Doku win the ball back in his own half? He's been brilliant." - Conor Cody, 5Live
Yes it's Man City and they've got all the quality in the world on the ball. But off it, they are just as equally immense. Kompany has tried to make us a melted Madame Tussaud version of Man City with the ball but there's heaps of work to do without it. We've looked really poor all season long when out of possession.

I don’t think Dyche got a draw therebumba wrote: ↑Wed Jan 31, 2024 8:50 pmDyche also got a draw there and beat them at home with a smaller budget and weaker team.
Maidstone went and won at Ipswich how many levels between them?
We're in the same league as City we should be putting some effort in at least but City are walking around the pitch it's pathetic

Re: Thread for tonight?
We have some talented players, but we are a **** team.
The main problem has been obvious all season, no leaders on the pitch. The loss of Pope, Tarks, Mee, Cork and Barnes leaves no-one to fire these young players up, and gel them.
To get another tonking off City is hardly surprising, and shouldn't be upsetting anybody.
This season is a write off, and has been since we threw the towel in against Chelsea. Next season will be a challenge, but not impossible, but VK has to find a catalyst to bring these players together, sadly he doesn't appear to see an issue.

May aswell mention Coyles 3-3 draw there if we’re going that far back
