Anderson bowled a masterful spell to keep them under 400...i went to bed at lunch thinking we'd do well
all a bit disappointing.......no way back from here.

Big lead for India despite a mini batting collapse 210-4 to 228-8. Three more wickets for Hartley.

India win by 106 runs . Pretty poor show from Eng attempting to get a last innings total of almost 400 in a test in India by playing Bazball

Almost every batter got a start in both innings yet none managed to go on to get the big score to change the game.

It becomes luck if you swish away. Occasionally it comes off big time. More often not.

Or - a pretty amazing effort to get relatively close to a target that nobody realistically expected them to achieve.

2 tests in, both effectively decided by a couple of individuals producing stuff that differs from the norm. Pope and Hartley first test, Jaiswal and Bumrah in this test. Good players on both sides have underperformed so far - but normally in India we get walloped - 2 tests in, and the majority has been competitive stuff.

Indeed it’s close stuff with very few batsmen properly getting in ,which is a suprise and Jimmy Anderson still looking good it’s all to play for . My previous point being the actual run chase itself where you had the likes of Foakes , Pope , Bairstow etc making almost no attempt to build an innings which I find disappointing when time was on our side and a relatively flat track . That aside we look very competitive.

Boring blaming the new approach after every defeat.

Oh no we dropped one test in India, tear it all down

We had them sweating up to the point of Crawley's dismissal.
Pope looked really good until he was well caught.....India took their catches but we were in with a chance.
Great series so far!
