I do wonder why Dyche in conjuction with the old board found it so difficult to set up an overseas recruitment network.

Matt Williams talks about scouring leagues all over the world there, in 10 years under Dyche we were never able to acheve that, what was stopping us?

someone will correct me if I'm wrong but in various interviews I'm sure Dyche alluded to the previous owner/board thinking that overseas players were too much of a risk

Maybe Dyche wanted tried and tested. Players from other leagues that aren't playing at the top level are a big risk.

Confirms our interest in Sacha Boey last summer & that he was trying to convince him to go to Galatasaray… till Kompany stepped in.

Quite sure that SD wanted tried and tested British players who suited his system at the time

That's a couple (maybe more?) now of really impressive, detailed and honest interviews from Matt Williams. Seems a decent bloke.

Not sure about that. He said time and time again that he wanted to shop abroad but we didnt 'yet' have the infrastructure. Clearly it wasnt as difficult to set up as we were making out

I am sure now having a predominantly non british coaching team helped greatly with such a change

I know for a fact that under dyche Burnley employed several European scouts and no doubt many hundreds of reports were put on the system for dyche to oversee, but as someone else mentioned dyche was very unsure of foreign players and steered clear of them.

Shame about Assengnon, I thought he had a good game today and looks a good ‘un.

Interesting, he did used to shift the blame to the board

Very brief outlook on it after only short cameos but the 3 new signings today looked a lot bloody better than what we have got.
