Re: Ramsey
Emery must have been ******* his sides when that request came in. Bet he couldn’t stop laughing when they were negotiating a buy back clause. Stunning piece of business from their pov . Bet its paid for the recruitment teams Christmas parties for the next 20 years!

Re: Ramsey
Bit like Trafford, weak, inexperienced, powder puff in the tackle, and light year's away from this level. But of course, not really he's fault, why would you drop Berge to centre back "in a back 5" when he's arguably the best attacking midfielder we have, and put Ramsey in he's place, yet another baffling decision from the manager.

Only one ?Goliath wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 8:34 pmI feel a bit aorry for him, hes being managed really poorly just been shoved in different positions in different systems. He diesnt have the experience to deal with it and hes physically very very weak.
Im fairly sure Boro would have happily had him back on loan for the rest of the season and i think that would have been the best thing for all parties. It may be one we have to cut our losses on at some point.
Re: Ramsey
They keep saying that Amdouni has all the skills, but I can't see it. At best, he shows some of them in games but never all of them together. Today, he and Ramsey both did very little, and what they did do, they did badly. We have a big squad, time to try someone else.
One incident today. (2nd half.) Foster held the ball up, saw Ramsey coming on the right, and played him in - but Ramsey wasn't moving very fast and didn't get there. Why wasn't he busting a gut on the overlap?

Re: Ramsey
Ramsey isn't a PL player, but might be in the future.
I'm not interested in the future, I'm interested in the here and now.

Re: Ramsey
Another baffling decision by Kompany to play him in a midfield two, not his best position. Needs to be playing a lot higher up the pitch.

Re: Ramsey
we can't play players like Ramsey who are not good enough yet to play in the Premier league it's baffling why these players were signed because there value will decrease if not playing and lose more money when we are relegated if we don't start well next season we could be losing millions on some of them and what about Zaroury, Roberts will they have the fire in there belly next season when they come back..

Re: Ramsey
You are saying we will lose millions if relegated, that’s not true it’s all negotiation. Lavia at Southampton went for 70m to Chelsea, alcaraz has just gone on loan to juventus with 40m option. Lad has just left Bournemouth on loan with mandatory 25m without playing for Bournemouth.Clive 1960 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 7:24 amwe can't play players like Ramsey who are not good enough yet to play in the Premier league it's baffling why these players were signed because there value will decrease if not playing and lose more money when we are relegated if we don't start well next season we could be losing millions on some of them and what about Zaroury, Roberts will they have the fire in there belly next season when they come back..
We got relegated and made a profit on Collins despite him only playing a handful of games

Should’ve signed Gordon. At least the pies would’ve been tastierSteve-Harpers-perm wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:07 pmSeriously think we signed the wrong Ramsey. Like others disappears for weeks then suddenly back in the team.
Re: Ramsey
The combined fees we’ve blown on Ramsey, Tresor and Amdouni are enough to give anyone sleepless nights. Doubt we will recoup anywhere near what we’ve busted on them

Re: Ramsey
To be fair to him, I don't think he fits the current system we are trying to play. He's not a wide player, he's not a traditional centre mid, he's an central attacking midfielder for me, but this area of the pitch is where Amdouni like to drop into. One or the other for me.

Re: Ramsey
Yep, needs to play higher up. Some of the comments about him are very poor, even for this board.

Hard to tell yesterday as he contributed literally nothing, but he was playing high up wasn't he?

Re: Ramsey
I don't think he should be playing at all right now. Look again when (if) we win a few.
I don't think Amdouni should be on the pitch either, but that's another story.

Re: Ramsey
Ramsey is a player who floats around, finds bits of space and then will look to link play / finish in the final third. There have been glimpses of this, set up Amdouni for his big chance against United for example, and yesterday (despite the narrative that he did absolutely nothing) he played a nice through ball to find Odobert for his (decent) first half chance.
Re: Ramsey
I usually try to give players the benefit of the doubt, but he's been pretty poor for us so far. He looks like he could grow into being a solid footballer someday though.

Re: Ramsey
Interesting when both Amdouni and Ramsey walked around the pitch when substituted, total silence , didn’t notice any applause and appreciation, very telling, but quite rightly no boos, some clubs fans would have reacted quite differently I expect.

One of the most baffling selections, to put Berge in the centre of a back 5,and replace him with Ramsey, still can't figure it out.daveisaclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:40 amHard to tell yesterday as he contributed literally nothing, but he was playing high up wasn't he?

Not sure he would look good in the U21s.

Re: Ramsey
I agree, which is why in the pre game lineups I put him ahead of Berge and Brownhill in a 4-2-3-1.RVclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 04, 2024 9:52 amRamsey is a player who floats around, finds bits of space and then will look to link play / finish in the final third. Explaining what players can do is one thing - explaining what the managers asks them to do is another....
On Ramsey generally, he is a young player - playing in a team with 13 points in 23 games - it's not easy for him.
