Post match presser
I really want to see the VK reaction to what we witnessed today, anyone seen it and got a link at all?
Re: Post match presser
This is one where he needs to hold his hands up and accept he got it wrong.

His comment that there was nothing in the first half other than 2 mistakes by us left me sitting my tea out in disbelief. First half performance was almost non league standard.
Forfana changed the game but why oh why did he start with amdouni who has been given chance after change but is essentially just “meh”

Re: Post match presser
He’s right that we started the first half quite well. We were the better side until Fulham scored the corner.

I was quite pleased with that interview. What he said was very different than what he communicated. Very upset and annoyed that we did not win that football match… he did not see the come back as much to celebrate as a result.
He knows himself this is now time to stop stroking egos to improve performances and belief. Now it about those up for a fight and taking three not one point from clubs like Fulham.

He’ll never work at this level again unless it’s with us so that’s a bonus from our point of view. He has to get it right next season or he is gone. Will probably make a good pundit occasionally with Keane for the City match.Culmclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:39 pmHe is totally gone. Hasn’t got a clue and looks increasingly shell shocked. Re: Post match presser
I don’t think he will get us back up. We are in for another rebuild next season in the championship and he has to recruit correctly not the blunderbuss approach to signing players.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:52 pmHe’ll never work at this level again unless it’s with us so that’s a bonus from our point of view. A stupid long contact and we’re back in the Dyche situation again!

Is 13 points at this stage of the season acceptable to you?
Re: Post match presser
He isnt a busted flush but he's definitely lost any clarity of thought. That formation today was absolutely nonsensical and has me seriously doubting whether he should stay in the job if im honest. Up until recently ive seen us progressing throughout the season, with the tactics developing along the way to a more cautious system.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:40 pmI think those of you calling VK a busted flush really need to give their heads a wobble.
Today he just decided to throw it all out of the window and try an untested system in a huge game. It wasnt the decision of a man thinking rationally and worries me massively.

We only pay out his long contract until he would work again, which wouldn’t be long, so yes we can afford to sack him.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:59 pmI’ve got to agree tbh my patience has completely gone with him, he needs to go but Pace can’t afford to pot his pin up.

Re: Post match presser
funny thing is the first 6-7 months under Dyche was crap and people were calling for him to be potted. Good job we stuck with him. VK didn't have that spell and hit the ground running, now he is in that period and no doubt it's the same people wanting him potted. Truly laughable.

It is extremely disappointing. I’m sure everyone agree’s that much. However, I can see old mantras like Rome was not built in a day and previous managers I recall coming in and being honest… Stan’s it will get worse before it gets better etc. And see VK and Pace are trying to get results while having a long range plan; one they believe in enough to not allow setbacks to derail them.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 9:49 pmWhy?

I’d love McKenna but you run the risk of being right where we started as he’s unproven. Plus, he ain’t coming to swop places.

I don’t see anything but a stubborn and some times arrogant approach to tactics and formations from Kompany.

Must be demoralising to know you have such weak players in such key positions before the whistle goes who almost guarantee two goals going in the wrong net every game.

1) we still need a captain
2) 5 subs shows the selection was wrong. Berge covering the back 4 shows your defence is desperate. Luke on his own shows we had no hope
3) there are teams that will outclass us throughout the league but we don’t even have the basics that a keagueb2 club have
4) 3 good new signings

Kompany won’t go there. That’s an almost instant career retirement.

Re: Post match presser
That's exactly what I'm thinking he won't be in much demand the way things are going. They can't afford to sack him it's plain & simple. Everton did us a favour before because dyche was worth going for he was more proven no clubs bigger than Everton will want Kompany & the clubs that might want him will be more prudent & cautious.

I don’t think either of those are bad options. I think they’re both achievable, we’re not a small club anymore.

We do that most games. Look decent for 10 minutes or so, fail to really trouble the keeper, then the opposing team get a grip and we drift out of the game. Often we concede and then when we do they look beaten.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 03, 2024 7:50 pmQuite right, we were looking good but like so many times this season, conceding a goal knocked the stuffing out of us.
This side has zero chance of remotely looking like it might stay up. And I'd say it's 50/50 whether it can make a half decent stab at promotion next season.
We are a total embarrasment

If we accept we will be relegated it will mean Kompany has failed in his first attempt at managing in the PL . I think that can be accepted considering he is still a relatively new manager and it is widely regarded as the best league in the world
What is unacceptable is what we are witnessing on this thread. Luckily its only a very small minority who are getting carried away in their own little world by discussing managerial replacements for him.

He’s not the type to sit around and he’d have plenty of offers I’m sure. As a young manager he needs to continue working to develop himself too.
