This would be his 17th different club as a manager I think- he's managed at least a couple of those twice too.

I've got to admire his work ethic. he's a year older than me and I've been (happily) retired for 13 years now. He must really love being involved in football, seems like an addiction almost.

Can't knock him if he's still got the fire in his belly to be having a do he must be bored with retirement.

Colin’s last couple of great escapes with Hudds and Rotherham were superb efforts . He knows how to shake things up ,motivate players and instill a real backs to the wall mentality. Could probs even keep us up !

I thought somebody on here yesterday saying we should go for Jose M was the daftest thing I'd read about managers for our club, then this comes along

Pittodrie is next to the North Sea and the coldest ground I've ever been on including the Turf on a snowy February mid week ;when even several Bene and Hots can't penatrate the permafrost in my feet.

He has a house in Scotland, not sure where, but he said he has always wanted to manage in Scotland so he has more time to play golf.

Seems a very odd appointment to me. You would have thought that they would be looking for someone more long-term. They aren't likely to get relegated this season, and I think they've had 3 managers in the past 3 years.
I would have expected a more long term plan and youth development rather than a "quick fix".

im afraid I have joined the love him brigade,I used to hate the clown. But I could listen to his stories all day real character. Also probably up there with the best managers of all time in the football league (not prem).

This is the reason for the Warnock appointment, they need someone temporary as the club have a full review of all football operations and prepare to hire a long term target in the summer, rumours they want Neil Lennon but he is currently interviewing for the Republic of Ireland job.

Hes crafted out a brilliant role for himself. 4 or 5 months of work a year with no need to do the long hours scouting or planning for the future etc
I suspect Big Sam is hoping for similar to end his career.

They can basically live off a new manager bounce for a living. Genius

He's got a house near Dunoon, which is a decent trek from Aberdeen with it being west of Glasgow, plus a hop on a boat.

What was the beef between him and Stan all about?

I vaguely recall it and seem to remember at the time thinking it was Stan who was being the jerk (but stand to be corrected on this).

Stan accused one of Warnock's staff of listening at the dressing room door during a game at Bramhall Lane. He ended up head butting Kevin Blackwell according to his book.

The feud went back long before that though. They just don't like each other.

True but if you pick your club intelligently then just getting a team well organised will give the temporary bounce they are after.

Neil Warnock, who stepped down after today's win over Kilmarnock: "I've told them they need to get a manager in to look at the squad because I think it needs quite an overhaul in the summer.

"If anything, I've contributed to making them realise and get a move on. They're very close down the line to get someone in now.

"I've met some great people. I'm just glad I got to a semi-final so the fans have something to look forward to. There's some keyboard warriors, but that's everywhere."

"I wanted to come up here and it has been a bit of a eye opener for me. I wish I had been here a year and had a couple of transfer windows."

He brought his old mate Junior Hoilett in on a free which I found hilarious.

Hope Colin's alright - a decent footballing bloke imo.

Although Stans book has plenty of fiction, I think this story is fact. I’ve heard more than one player confirm what went on that day in a few different podcasts. Warnock isn’t averse to gamesmanship, and stans not averse to nutting people.

They are both as bad, and good, as each other

It’s getting a bit of a circus now with Warnock. Done some cracking jobs but I think it’s time to bow out. He seems to be playing up to the ‘coming out of retirement’,’only works from February’ and ‘permission from the wife’ too much in interviews. That would have annoyed me if I was an Aberdeen fan.

I think he prefers the attention in the press conferences, to actually managing.

Did you see him taking the plaudits for his Horizon computer joke the other week?

He just gets his teams to do the basics and hopes that combined with his personality will give them a short term boost. It usually works.
Hes basjcally a specialist caretaker manager now. Im surprised Big Sam doesnt do it

I quite like Warnock. He's perhaps a "dinosaur" but he's a good old-school manager who doesn't BS.
