Re: Today’s games
I’ve obviously missed something, but why isn’t Dyche in the dugout today?
Re: Today’s games
Just think Pep sees wrong things sometimes
De Brunye and Silva on the bench and Akanji in midfield
Everton coping reasonably well - City with no shots on target in first half

Re: Today’s games
Masterclass by Dyche despite his ban. Showing exactly how to play City although they have looked flat. Haaland looks way off his best. Hope VK is watching

Re: Today’s games
Has good as 45 minutes of defensive play I have seen this season, City still to get a shot on goal. Tarks & Braithwaite are immense, as unlike most other teams, SD just not tinker with his centre half pairing and its showing. Could of course all change in next 45 minutes
Re: Today’s games
How Tarks doesn’t play for a top 4 club I’d baffling.
Re: Today’s games
Tarks is a very solid defender with the occasional headed goal from set pieces in his locker but he doesn't have 'all rounds' skills demanded at the very top. I always thought his distribution was lacking.

I reckon Everton have been excellent.Mansfield claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 1:36 pmI think it's more city being poor than anything Everton are doing
Even if they lose this to a late(ish) goal, no way will they be going down with more performances like this.

Re: Today’s games
Pep’s record against Dyche will show he’s pretty clueless when it comes to playing City. But then again, the same can be said of most managers.

Re: Today’s games
City have had this problem for years. Every so often they throw in a game where they insist on walking the ball into the net.Mansfield claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 1:36 pmI think it's more city being poor than anything Everton are doing
67% possession and no shots on target is truly awful, yet they never seem to learn the lesson from these blips. I just wish they'd save one of these for us.
And as I write they score

Cracking 2nd goal for Haarland.
Re: Today’s games
Haaland is so strong!
Re: Today’s games
2-0.
But they won't go down. Whatever people might say, the stats show SD has steadied that ship (unfortunately).

Everton don’t look too bad but 3 points from 21 suggests it is anything but a “steady ship”.

Re: Today’s games
Sadly, their games get much easier from here in.
Only really Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal (the two former ones not being in the best of form) of any note. The rest look very winnable for them.
Although I have thought for a while they don’t look like scoring from open play. Their set plays are obviously fantastic though.

I am trying to post why can’t I do it?

Forest equalise.
Re: Today’s games
20 million for Tella is starting to look a bargain when you look at what we blew elsewhere, Tresor springs to mind.

Re: Today’s games
Just said the same in another post-just watching todays results. Sheff Utd 3 chances, 3 goals. And just seen the electric break by Forest for the equaliser. Malanga's finish deadly. We forget how ponderous we are at attacking and taking chances, instead we hang our players to dry every week
Re: Today’s games
It just felt like we never went all out for Tella. Expected Southampton to sell him on the cheap then the idiotic social media video by Pace's daughter killed off any hope of signing him.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 6:11 pmJust said the same in another post-just watching todays results. Re: Today’s games
2-0 Leverkusen, Tella assist. The decision not to get him looks increasingly bad (and I was one that thought 20 million was too much for him)

Re: Today’s games
He’s hardly played for them up until after the winter break. Due to injuries (and Afcon maybe?) he’s come in and made an instant impact, in fact he’s been sensational.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 6:49 pm2-0 Leverkusen, Tella assist.
