Should have won' - did we? That's the difference; teams with that extra bit in them WOULD win that game.
Dyche referred to it many a time - almost as though you can 'smell' it on them.
We are a shadow. I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone cannot see that.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
I've been on the Muric side of the debate since pre season, been 100% convinced there's nothing to be lost by swapping keepers since late October. This is a disgraceful sentiment. No surprise coming from you given you were never satisified under Dyche, you and StayingDown4Ever seem to always need to have a boo boy to hurl abuse upon however things are going, for you it was Dyche, for him it used to be Foster.
Trafford is miles off the Prem. He's overexposed, he's on a hiding to nothing he's blatantly not good enough. But you never, ever, boo or jeer your own. Even if you think they're crap. Even if you think they're lazy- they're not likely to be motivated to try harder by booing, it's for the manager to give them a bollocking.
The reality is, us cheering or booing players will never influence Kompany's thinking. Hes not swayed, he doesn't care, he's working on his own logic that isn't even considering performances on the pitch so certainly won't consider what we think. The guy gets paid in a week more than some of us get in two years, he's never gonna give one toss what we think.
All we can do as fans is vent opinions & frustrations appropriately, and get behind the players as best we can. It's practically a weekly humilation for Trafford at this point as it is, he doesn't deserve his own fans compounding it, the guy isn't good enough but neither are a bunch of them- Jay is miles below the level needed and would never be booed. If Andy Payton dusted off his boots he'd be an embarrassment but he wouldn't warrant booing. It serves nothing, and it blatantly achieves nothing - Kompany is never, ever, going to be swayed. He's far beyond Dyche for stubbornness.
Call for Kompany Out if you want, call for Trafford to be dropped, but don't boo the lad.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
I don’t remember many players getting boo’d when their name was announced in the starting lineup.
The chanting for Muric (after one misplaced pass where no outfield player made space) was pretty unique.
Regardless. If you wish to justify the abuse of your own player, crack on.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
I'm not justifying anything, just asking the question. I arrived very late today, just as the players were coming out. I didn't pay much attention to the line up. I heard a small amount of Muric chanting but it was clearly a minority. As I've said previously, it's all on VK anyway and I suspect the abuse is aimed more at him than Trafford. It's not good for the kid though.Darthlaw wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 6:23 pmI don’t remember many players getting boo’d when their name was announced in the starting lineup.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
You’d have to be a massive muppet to want to play a keeper that has conceded 60 goals in 27 games even if the whole team is shite as most of you say they are.
Only player not changed this season, come on, its absolutely stupid whichever way you cut it.
If fans are frustrated in seeing him every week you can’t blame them. Do you just want them to clap like mutes or something. Bizarre.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
That’s fair, although abuse in game shortly after a misplaced pass from Trafford is never going to be constructive/motivational is it?jlup1980 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 6:28 pmI'm not justifying anything, just asking the question. Interestingly, I’ve never used the ‘foe’ function previously, but adding 4-5 prominent members on this thread particularly has made this board so much more tolerable again.
Regardless, I don’t think you’ll find anyone sane who’ll suggest Trafford has had an amazing season. Similarly I don’t think you’ll find one with an IQ greater than their shoe size who will believe abuse of one of our own is useful.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
If people had an "agenda" to criticise the performance of the team or the manager this season, they would hardly have to make anything up to do so.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
Stop making things up, you call out others for it....He misplaced a simple pass straight to a Bournemouth - not condoning the booing but don't make out it wasn't a dreadful error that could have cost us.

Sure…
The one he knocked out of play was ‘straight to a Bournemouth’. Even then ‘that could have cost us’.
You keep justifying that abuse

I thought it should’ve been about 4-1 to Bournemouth - they missed some glorious chances.
We huffed and we puffed but we’d still be puffing now trying to blow their house down.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
Obviously not any of the kicks to touch, but you know that. I'm talking about the pass directly to one of the Bournemouth players in the first half that led to booing from the crowd.
And can you not read where I said " not condoning the booing"
People have a legitimate view of Trafford's shortcomings but you don't even accept that. Stop it, you're making yourself look silly.

I have no problem people criticising players or manager if its factually correct, but StayingDown4Ever rant at half time was just 100% false, made up, lies, call it what you want.
Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
You're seeing what you want to see. I can't comprehend how someone could watch the game today and conclude Bournemouth should have won 4-1

I haven’t defended Trafford in a long time but point out the abuse he receives.
I realise not persecuting the lad for every error the team makes is not a popular view but it’s a hill I’m prepared to die on. If that makes me look silly then fair enough.
Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
Well they scored two and missed at least one sitter and one glorious chance in the second half.
Vitinho should’ve scored for us.
Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
Disagree with this. We were good first 10 and had a lot of the ball throughout the game, but other than the free kick don’t remember us creating any chances or working their keeper.
In contrast, Bournemouth created 3/4 great chances second half and it could have easily been more for them.
Agree that first half the one error was the difference between the sides at half time but we didn’t create anything of note in response.
Didn’t think Trafford was at fault for either goal, but even Bournemouth fans were enjoying him getting the ball.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
The number of times he was out of his box with his foot on the ball thinking what to do with the ball was unreal.
Some will argue there was no movement in front of him but I feel it's more than that. My take on it is that he doesn't know what to do with the ball

There were a lot of worse performances on that field than Trafford today.
Try looking at the defenders who gave him two unstoppable goals.

Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
I don't boo Trafford so I can't speak for them, but I don't imagine they're trying to achieve anything other than venting their understandable frustration.
Re: TRAFFORD (AGAIN)
I think (hope) you are wrong, there, Nori.
The lad dies his best and makes some saves. Not a booing offence.
I think it is the same as cheating and chatting for Manuel Benson. Trafford is already on the pitch, against crowd will, so booj g is to send a message to Kimpaby, to do the right thing and change him out.

If he kicks it straight out of play for no reason then in theory he is passing to a Bournemouth player because they regain possession which actually happened more than three timesNori1958 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 5:40 pmMaking things up again....
