No worse of an idea than playing a right footed cb at left back or bringing on cm to play rb/rw
Well yes. That's not a good idea either.

Best to play players in their best positions, don't you think?

He's still playing Dyche negative football.

Massengo needs a chance in his place. Brownhill is not our future
Er, the totally untried Massengo in the heart of a Premier League midfield? Give me strength

Brownhill wasn't at his best today (he hasn't been for a few weeks), but some context. He can be more composed but he and Berge competed very well today despite being outnumbered in that central areas throughout. He covered well, won second balls and helped us squeeze the game for periods, particularly first half.

He got abused by a kid behind me today for taking a corner that was headed out and being offside "cos he didn't get back quickly enough" despite Ramsey (?)knowing where the Liverpool line was before playing the ball to him..

Tbf to him it was a good corner for o Shea’s goal ( which was very good!) I think that’s the first Brownhill corner that has ever gone directly onto someone’s head in around 7 years!

Not sure why he’s been taking free kicks and corners for years, absolutely useless at both.

I too thought Ramsey had a quiet but effective game.

How is Ramsey supposed to know where the Liverpool line is from a central position?

The one man who should’ve knew where the Liverpool line was, was the man outwide directly in line with the Liverpool line and that was Brownhill.

Very lazy to be offside there.

What have we got to lose at this point? We’re playing a totally untried keeper, so why not Massengo?

Very lazy yes, but he wasn't asking for the ball. Poor from any team to give the ball back to a corner taker.

Absolute bunkum. You see very regularly the ball get recycled back out wide to the guy who took the corner. The difference being the guy who takes corners is usually aware enough to get out as the defence pushes out. Brownhill made a poor effort to do that yesterday or he just didn't have the awareness. Whichever one it was it was poor from him.

He’s no captain. Let alone a premier league one . He’s a top /mid table championship player at best. Trafford is a decent league 1 keeper. The sooner Vk sees it the better but sadly he won’t as he seems a tad stubborn .

Would that be the same totally untried Massengo, who last May was playing in the French Liguue 1, against a PSG team containing Ramos, Mbappe and Messi ?

This? “Totally untried “ who had a full season at Bristol City, a full season in France, and in the 40 odd Prem minutes he’s had looks streets ahead of Brownhill. And I say that being (somewhat) a Brownhill fan

I personally rate Brownhill, but he's not played that well this season. I am not going to go as far as some have to say he's only Championship quality as i don't agree, but he definitely needs to be taken off set pieces.

Not really. Only stating that they aren’t premier league standard players. It’s a comparison. I don’t want to have to but sadly it’s clear for everyone to see they are way out of their depth. It’s an opinion that’s all. Don’t get so touchy

Brownhil was a key component in the central midfield unit that saw us relegated in 2022 and looks likely to repeat that feat in 2024. Doesn't offer pace, power, skill to beat a man or the ability to beat either the wall or the first man from free kicks or corners. Apart from the ability to run up and down and make 5 yard backwards or sideways passes, I am not sure what he offers. A central midfielder was one of the key requirements in the summer and our failure to sign an upgrade on Brownhill is a key factor in one of the most disappointing seasons we have had in the past decade.

We need to show greater ruthlessness in moving players off our books in May-I think Alan Pace will push for it. We used to be great and getting good money for players past their best, but now there appears to be less focus in trying to generate income rather than putting them out on loan.I find it bizarre that Weghorse has been allowed to go out on 3-4 loans, having played less than half a season, when we should have got rid. Some will be going as they end their contract but in total , but in total the following need to simply go-Cork, Rodriguez, Josh, Taylor, Bastian, Egan Riley,Peacock Farrell, JBG ,Muric,McNally,Obefomi. Thats a sizeable reduction in wages that can be reinvested
You cannot sell players if the buying club will not match the players current wages, you then have to loan them to get some of the wasted wage off the books. You then go on to free all of our remaining experience and on and off the pitch know how… naivety abounds as it is this season, hardly the answer IMO…

I thought he was awful last week but managed to outdo it today.

I’m amazed he’s picked in the squad recently let alone as captain.

He’s not the brightest lad and he’s never in a million years captain material.

Must admit, when VK came in and was raving about Brownhill I thought, wow, he must see something I don’t and he was being held back in the last system.
I like Brownhill, I think he’s a good squad player in the premier league, but he’s not good enough to be starting week in, week out

Brownhill has been very poor of recent and looks like a player that knows he isn't going to be at the club next season. I wouldn't have him in the team now, at least not in a midfield two.

Palace next week brownhill and Amdouni out for Cullen and JBG, proper midfield 3 of Cullen Berge JBG and then either benson or Larsen on the right, preferably benson

Browny really fooled em with that twice taken free kick early in the 2nd half. He held his arms up, then dummied to take, and ran over the ball, allowing JBG to take it. Literally, a re-run of 10 secs before. Jesus wept!!!
