Trafford 3 times up. Can’t possibly start next week
Assignon 8
O Shea 7
Esteve 7
Delcroix 7
Ramsey 4
Berge 7
Brownhill 4
Odobert 5 can’t afford to have him in the team against good sides because we have….
Amdouni 3 effort nowhere to been seen again apart from a five minute spell in the first half.
Forfana6

Subs:
Vitinho na
Massengo na
Bruun Larsen na

The game had gone by the time they were made but Kompany’s substitutions were baffling yet again.

I think it was a half decent performance, but I find myself not caring anymore. They say it’s the best league in the world. I think it showcases everything that’s wrong in modern football.

Trafford - 4 - some good saves but you simply can't give goals away like that at this level

Assignon - 7 - looks a good signing
O'Shea - 7 - our most improved player since the start of the season
Esteve - 7* - looks a really good signing, looks a leader to me
Delcroix - 7 - thought he played well both at full back and cb

Brownhill - 4 - Poor again, and zero leadership skills
Berge - 6 - ok
Ramsey - 4 - Poor again. Probably should have got a foul on their second goal but that shouldn't detract from his first touch being awful

Amdouni - 4 - a bright 10 minutes followed by a nothing performance and a huge assist for their second goal
Fofana - 6 - frustrating. Got to score. Twice. But - he gives us something different. Promising
Odobert - 5 - some good, some not so good

Some positives, but the soft goals they just keep on coming.

Trafford 4 - boring now
Assignon 7 - shame we didn't have him from summer
O'Shea 8 - superb header
Esteve 7 - like the look of Max Steve a lot
Delcroix 7 - I quite like Delcroix
Ramsey 6 - so so
Brownhill 5 - swap for JBG pls
Berge 7 - some superb stuff in the first half
Odobert 5 - inconsistent but a huge talent
Fofana 6 - should have done better with the chances but worked hard
Amdouni 4 - the fifteen minute man

O’Shea 7 inc 1 for goal
Esteve 8 good pace
Delcroix 7 underrated
Ramsey 6 much better today
Brownhill 4 looks dispirited
Berge 8 quality player Feel sorry for him
Odobert 5 missed chance and tired in second half
Amdouni 5 two big misses although one was great save
Fofana 4 two huge misses that Foster would have buried

Trafford - 4 The lads got to be taken out the firing line. He just doesn’t cut it and that’s not being unfair on him
Assignon - 6 Thought he did ok. A couple of wayward passes but he’s a new lad trying to integrate
O’Shea - 7 Solid game and great header. Stupid yellow card though so early in the game
Esteve - 6 Started a little shaky which is understandable but defo grew into the game. Hopefully his withdrawal was precautionary
Delcroix - 6 Not his favoured position but did a good job. Think Charlie will be back in though if fit next Saturday
Ramsay - 5 Not his worst game but still pretty anonymous. Should have rolled around like a cry baby for the 2nd Liverpool goal
Berge - 7 Our best midfielder by a long shot. Very dynamic in both boxes when played in his best position but keeps getting dropped back
Brownhill - 4 Would have been a 3 but for his assist for our goal. Was shown by our previous sorties into the Premier that his out of his depth. Not a captain. Not a Premier League player
Odobert - 6 Generally a threat and caused them problems. Should have buried that chance
Amdouni - 4 Went downhill for him after his 1st minute shot on target. I know he can produce magic but that happens few and far between. Can’t afford to carry him
Fofana - 5 Dropped him a mark because he should have scored at least one today. Poor finishing but he looks a threat and causes problems for teams

Vitinho - 4 Why??
Massengo - 5 Gave a silly pass away but I’m excited to see more of him

Another opportunity passes us by when we had a chance today of causing a real upset. Poor in both boxes and that is why we are going down. It doesn’t help that VK is naming some very strange line ups and even more bizarre substitutions.

From tv
Trafford 4 a couple of decent stops but at fault for their first two goals. Vinny, it’s getting embarrassing now, please take the young man out of the firing line.
Assignon 7 a proper right back at last.
O’Shea 8 his best game in a Burnley shirt for me.
Esteve 7 very good again. He could develop into a very important player for us.
Delacroix 6 he looked like a centre back playing at full back. He has got potential though.
Ramsey 5 I’ve given him below par, but I’m not sure what par is for him. He’s been poor so far.
Brownhill 4 played like a man who is shortly out of contract and is wondering where his next club is.
Berge 7 again our best midfielder by far.
Amdouni 4 after a bright start to the season he seems to be running in ever decreasing circles.
Fofana 6 decent all round game but he should have scored
Odobert 6 good in bits

Not a bad performance but our weaknesses and naivety are so clear to see. When I saw the starting line-up with Ramsey, Amdouni and Lecroix at left back I didn’t expect a lot , but I was so frustrated again to see us commit school boy errors to give the game away. We have a serious problem with the goalkeeper, I’m afraid young Trafford is a liability. He needs a rest urgently.

Trafford - 5 Absolute howler for the first goal and started the rot for the 2nd.
Assignon - 7 A defender who looks assured!
O'Shea - 8 Made some good tackles and the goal was a peach. Silly booking but didn't affect him.
Esteve - 7 Another defender who looks assured!
Delcroix - 7 Yet another defender who looks assured!
Ramsey - 4 Much improvement needed as we have better players sat down.
Brownhill - 5 Yellow meant he wasn't combative enough today
Berge - 6 Hard for him being at both ends of the pitch
Odobert - 5 Spurned a chance by panicking.
Fofana - 5 Two glorious chances but look a decent player.
Amdouni - 4 Has become an extravagent luxury and is frustrating to watch because technically he has something.

Trafford 4 - like starting one goal down every game. Needs to be taken out for a spell
Assignon 7 - looks good
O Shea 7 - great goal
Esteve 7 - looks a proper defender
Delcroix 7 - like him
Brownhill 5 - under par today
Berge 7 - if only he had a decent partner. Although I thought Massengo looked promising
Ramsey 4 - can’t tackle, can’t beat a man, can’t shoot. Can’t even go down when fouled. Pointless.
Amdouni 5- so frustrating
Odobert 6 - no doubt will end up a top player. Just too hit and miss for us right now
Fofana 7 - I’m not going to mark him down for the 2 misses because he ran the line well on his own.

Trafford 5 - He did 99% of everything pretty well, but…
Assignon 7 - Good player this lad. Shame we won’t be able to sign him permanently
Delcroix 6 - Solid enough and gave us a bit of physicality
O’Shea 8 - Did well and a fantastic header for the goal
Esteve 7 - Slightly unconventional at times, but that’s an impressive full debut against difficult opponents
Berge 7 - Coped well against quality opposition and got us into don’t good positions with his driving runs and distribution
Brownhill 5 - Sloppy with the ball and a passenger at times
Odobert 6 - In and out of the game, but troubled them at times first half. Should have scored.
Ramsey 6 - Faded, but thought he did well first half. The shift he put in with Assignon first half to shore up the right hand side will probably go unnoticed on here
Amounting 6 - Again he faded, but put together a pretty effective first half. Should have scored.
Fofana 6 - Got in the right positions and his movement posed a threat, but should have scored x 2

In isolation that’s a pretty creditable effort away at one of the best sides in the league. Once again we’re left to rue a couple of soft goals and an inability to take chances. The latter is more frustrating today. We’ve had 3-4 glorious opportunities at times when we’re well in the game.

Trafford- 5. Such a weird player sometimes. At fault for the first, causes the initial error leading to the (should've been overturned) 2nd. Makes a couple of great saves to deny other goals. Flaps at other balls and shocking in possession. I just can't make sense of how he can be such a good shot stopper yet make a meal of so much else.

Assignon- 6. Mixed bag at times but I like the look of him overall. Against weaker sides I think he'll be very useful.
O'Shea- 8. Even ignoring the goal he was a unit today. Big change from the first couple months of the season where he looked hapless, has improved a lot now that he's a bit more 'basics first' defender than trying to play it out.
Esteve- 7. Like this lad. Like him a lot.
Delacroix- 6. Solid, unspectacular but solid enough. Growing on me. He reminds me a bit of a Brownhill but for the defence- no oustanding attributes but nothing he's dire at.

Ramsay- 5. He was there I guess. First half he was unthreatening (spurned a great play by Odobert) but solid. Second half a touch quieter. Don't like histrionics from tackles but had he done what some done, their 2nd might have been disallowed when he got kicked.
Brownhill- 5. Also was there. Bit sloppy in the pass and the tackle, nothing egregious but isn't quite up to this level, plus we were outnumbered n the middle.
Berge-6. Solid enough but again we were 2v3 in the middle and he could only do so much.
Odobert- 5. First half he was bright but he really faded. Some good attacking play but none of it came to anything, missed an empty goal where I thought he had time to turn it onto his right, couple of hopeful but wasteful shots, couple of hopeful but unproductive runs, got it played off him for a goalkick a bit too much.
Amdouni- 5. Opening 10 minutes looked sharp, opening 10 of the second half looked okay, fashioned a decent chance for Fofana and was unlucky with a couple, but lightweight carelessness for the 2nd goal. Very talented but frustrating player.
Fofana- 4. Was really excited to see him in the team sheet today but he's getting a 4 for the same reason I named him MOTM vs Fulham. Against Fulham, his 2 chances get us the point. Today, his 2 spurned chances cost us as much as Trafford's errors, but at least Trafford made a couple good saves to keep it from being worse. I like him, I'd still start him next week ideally alongside Foster if fit, but needs to do better than today.

Kompany's substitutions back to leaving me lost though after last week's effective subs. When you're 2-1 down, with 20 to go, have shown you CAN bloody their nose just need to make something stick, and have a guy on the bench who's proven his ability repeatedly to conjure goals from nothing off the bench, why on Earth would you ready a double defensive sub, rather than go for the goal. 0 points is 0 points we're not going down on goal difference at this rate. And then as he readies the sub it ticks to 3-1, and still on come the defensive backups. Just makes no sense to me at all, cannot get my head round it. Show some hunger to chase the game and grab something from it, we may as well ship another at that point but at least you'd feel we wanted to get something back.

Trafford 3 - one good save but put us behind twice, unacceptable that we persist with somebody no where near ready.
Assignon- 7
Delcroix - 7
O'Shea - 7 good game today
Esteve - 7
Berge - 7
Brownhill - 7
Odabert - 5 quiet largely and missed a sitter
Amdouni - 5 couple of glimpses but we are carrying him
Ramsey - 3 once again did absolutely naff all
Fofana - 5 ran his socks off if he scores those two he's MOM

Strange how the 'impartial' media rate Trafford as either our best or 2nd best player today. For the 1st goal he was blocked out of it by O'Shea, if he hadn't come he would have been just as roundly criticised on here. Just watched the Sky highlights video and they don't blame Trafford at all.

Wasn't there so I can't score but so much antipathy towards our own players is shocking. We were away at the League leaders not playing a nothing team!

If he hadn't come out there's a possibility he would have certainly been in a better position to save it instead of flapping so he wouldn't have been criticised. People aren't criticising him because they've got nothing better to do people are criticising him because he's making silly mistakes & keeps on repeating them. It's strange how it's perceived that he keeps getting blocked off, first it was adebayor & now his own team mate "o'shea" a stronger goalkeeper by hook or crook claims both balls.

Had that been in the early weeks of the season I think we'd have been encouraged. We need points of course and that's another game we haven't taken points from, but we were competitive.

Trafford- 5 - generally I thought he did fine. But the misjudgement for the first goal is awful, and the period.of pressure leading up to the second goal was a result of a poor short pass.

Assignon - 6 - thought he had a very good first half and a shakier second, but he's got the tools.

Delcroix - 7 - occasionally we missed an attacking dimension from left back but he was defensively very assured.

O'Shea - 8 - not flawless but defensively very strong and took the goal well. He looks assured at this level now.

Esteve - 7 - showed good pace and physicality even if he is still getting his bearings and looks less comfortable in possession than other Kompany centre backs, and I thought he should have done more to stop the cross for the second goal.

Berge - 7 - thought he generally had a strong and commanding game but not for the first time he was a little passive in being beaten by Nunez for thr third goal.

Brownhill - 6 - ratted well and got about the park, even if he was occasionally untidy.

Ramsey - 6 - diligent enough defensively and much better positionally than he was in that position last week, which suggests he's spent some time belatedly learning it in training. Whilst probably fouled, not for the first time his heavy touch resulted in us coughing up possession and conceding the second goal- has to be tighter in those areas.

Odobert - 6 - bright in the first half and carried a threat, but he was quieter in the second and wasteful at times - most obviously when he thrashed at a golden chance to equalise that was just as pivotal as Trafford's error.

Amdouni- 6 - the first half was his best showing for some time, and whilst he was quieter after the break he still created our best chance with a lovely flick to Fofana. Don't think criticism of him for the second goal is fair because he was under real pressure when the ball came to him.

Fofana - 6 - neat and tidy link play was particularly effective in the first half, and he carried a threat with his pace behind - but will know he has to score at least one of those chances.

Plenty of positives here, or there would be if we weren't stuck on 13 points in February. We played some delightful stuff in the first half and thoroughly deserved to be level. The second half was tougher going bu we showed plenty of enterprise and generally defended pretty well. But poor finishing and soft errors let us down in key moments. A familiar tale.

You can score, half the ones that do aren't at the game and clearly state they've watched it on TV

Trafford 5 - Awful error for the first and completely misjudged the trajectory of the cross. Again.
Assignon 7 - Set piece marking suspect but looks a PL fullback.
O’Shea 8 - Easily his best game and capped it with a goal.
Estève 7 - Bit of a baptism of fire but did well in the main against liVARpools front line.
Delcroix 6 - still looks slow for me and equally suspect at set pieces.
Ramsey 4 - epitomises where we are short as a team. Lightweight and missing the PL nous when required
Berge 6 - Probably the best of the midfield
Brownhill 5 - Finally scored from one of his corners before he resumed his normal standard of delivery.
Odobert 6 - keep attacking his fullback but guilty of a waste with his chance.
Amdouni 4 - lost the ball and then his man for the second. Also missed a decent chance although he did well to create it.
Fofana 5 - left his shooting boots at Turf Moor. Still threatened going forwards.

Amdouni- 6 - Don't think criticism of him for the second goal is fair because he was under real pressure when the ball came to him.

I think you're being extraordinarily generous there.

In most circumstances, I’d say Amdouni should have been dropped after last week. However, the potential this guy is got is unbelievable.

Watch that first touch that takes him past VVD for a one on one with Kelleher. It’s no exaggeration to say not many in world football have managed that over the last few years.

Trafford 5 - The first goal is a mess, doesn’t cover himself in glory for the second either. Couple of good blocks, didn’t really have a lot to do.
Assignon 6 Good going forward, positionally particularly defensively is something to improve on.
O’Shea 7 - Solid, scored a great header, played well silly booking though.
Estève 7 - Looks good, has pace, strong, distribution a bit squirrely at times
Delcroix 6 - not the quickest, but ok, positionally looks a bit unsure particularly on set pieces
Ramsey 4 - young player learning the game but shouldn’t be learning it at this level
Berge 6 - if he had two players around him who were at his level we would be fine
Brownhill 5 - A goal from a corner before normal service resumed.
Odobert 7 - a positive performance perhaps only blighted by that miss.
Amdouni 5 couple of good chances, always seems to get on early doors as well, doesn’t hold the ball well enough and is guilty of over carrying the ball.
Fofana 6 looks a threat gets in good positions and put a shift in, those two chances at such a critical time in the game, damn.

A positive performance where we created good chances. To many mistakes at this level cost us the game. Which sadly has been the story of the season.

Makes a change as I've generally been one of Amdouni's harsher critics.

On this occasion i don't think he does much wrong. The ball from Ramsey is spinning (possibly bevause MacAllister got a feather on it) and he has to adjust his body position to receive the ball, and is under lots of pressure from Endo (who plays the bsll almost exactly as Amdouni does) and one other player. I'm not sure the big clearance was necessarily on as a result.

It was terrible play from Amdouni that. A simple ball back inside to Ramsey and we are away. Instead he turns to his blind side and it’s a mess.

If the ball had rolled through to him cleanly, I'd agree. Once he had to reposition himself so he was facing our own goal, that was harder/impractical I think.

Amdouni is generally a bit lightweight and once the bsll into feet and time to think about what comes next. Its been a problem all season. The second goal yesterday isn't a great example for me though.

Trafford 5 Worlds best shot stopper dose not make a good goalkeeper. At fault with two goals today, admittedly the second should also have been cleared from left back and the defence should have stepped up to leave Liverpool offside.
Assignon 6 made some good forward runs and was solid enough
O'Shea 8 MOM has come on leaps and bounds the season. I think more to do with him playing his natural game more.
Esteve 6 Looks ok but that's about all
Delcroix 5 He is not a full back, he looks much better as a left Central defender, so did OK for someone playing out of position
Ramsey 3 I know it is early days yet but he is not nor does he ever look like making it as a premier league plyer
Brownhill4 Simply overwhelmed by better players in the Liverpool mid field
Berge 6 Asked to do too much , he does not have the ability to defend and run midfield against one of the best teams in Europe with litlel or no support.
Odobert 5 Never seems to have the finished product ready : looks dangerous but somehow never really is
Fofana 8 -2 =6 The minus two is obvious , however he gets into dangerous positions that we have not exploited since Tella left. With match sharpness I hope his finishing will improve.
Amdouni 3 Nice little flicks, delicate lay offs but no work rate, he is a luxury we cannot afford.

VK 3 Baffling substitutions again, starting line up retaining last weeks worst two players, set piece defending poor, set piece attacking poor, defending for the second goal was diabolical, what do they do in training all week?
