Leverkusen V Munich
Leverkusen 2-0 up after 50 mins. Tella started and is having a good game. He just played a great ball to assist for the second. What a couple of years he’s having.
Re: Leverkusen V Munich
Amazing game this.
Hard to believe watching this game that we decided Tresor, Ramsey, and Amdouni were worth a combined £40m (and that's being conservative) but we wouldn't pay up for Tella. Incredible. Absolutely incredible.

Incredible that we spent money on Tresor and Amdouni instead of Tella.

Well I suppose who would have known. Not like Tella was brilliant last season or anything....CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 6:54 pmChuck in Traff and Ramsey and that's 60 mill ish.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
I’d bet that Amdouni has already got more goals for his country and in the UEFA cups than Tella will have over his whole career.
I love Tella and wish we’d forked out for him, but Southampton were trying it on with us and Amdouni, who already has 4 league goals for is, doesn’t deserve “supporters” with an agenda slating him on a thread unrelated to Burnley.

Ashley Barnes has more PL goals than Messi. What’s your point?CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:00 pmI’d bet that Amdouni has already got more goals for his country and in the UEFA cups than Tella will have over his whole career.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
The first Bayer goal scorer is on loan from Bayern.
I think our FA or Premier League outlawed that a decade or so ago - can't remember the player but I think it involved a newcastle striker scoring the winner against them whilst on loan for someone else.

Do you remember David Williams having the game of his life against us for Rochdale?distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:12 pmThe first Bayer goal scorer is on loan from Bayern.

Any supporter who pays their money to watch us play deserves players who give their absolute all for the shirt, as Tella undoubtedly did.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:00 pmAmdouni, who already has 4 league goals for is, doesn’t deserve “supporters” with an agenda slating him on a thread unrelated to Burnley.
That's also why this thread is, in fact, related to Burnley.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
So you think Amdouni is better than Tella because he has more goals for Basel and Switzerland? Tella is currently top of the Bundesliga.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:00 pmI’d bet that Amdouni has already got more goals for his country and in the UEFA cups than Tella will have over his whole career.

Bizarre argument.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
Is Harry Kane ever going to win anything ?
Bayern won the league for the last 11 years he would have thought a league title was a certain but it looks like it could well be Leverkusen that win it.
Some team Leverkusen under Alsonso, Xhaka is so important for them, he’s a top player who iv always rated.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
Quite so. Could feasibly end up with Nathan Tella having more club honours than Harry Kane by the seasons end. That's almost as daft as Nathan Dyer having a Premier League winners medal.ClaretsPadiham wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:29 pmIs Harry Kane ever going to win anything ?

I'm sure 20 million would have done the job. Instead we expected to pick him up on the cheap and had Pace's daughter putting out stupid videos on Instagram that just aggravated Southampton even more.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:00 pmI’d bet that Amdouni has already got more goals for his country and in the UEFA cups than Tella will have over his whole career.

Lua-Lua on loan at Portsmouth scored a winner against Newcastle.distortiondave wrote: ↑Sat Feb 10, 2024 7:12 pmThe first Bayer goal scorer is on loan from Bayern.

Edit - also in the season Derby had Lampard in charge they had Tomori on loan from Chelsea, who played against Chelsea in League Cup and scored the "winning" own goal to send Chelsea through.

Yes, that's right. I'm sure(ish) that the powers that be brought in a law to prevent loanees playing against their parent club because of that Lua Lua goal.

Same thing happened with Gary Lineker. Everton won the league, signed Lineker to improve them and won nothing, sold him and won the league again.

Alonso will probably be living in Southport again come the summer.

Re: Leverkusen V Munich
It probably makes sense for Alonso to leave this summer. Any club that dares to compete with Bayern generally loses their best player or two to them. If he could win the league and the Europa would be perfect time to go.
