Passing It On
Passing It On
Having rushed home from work on Wednesday evening, i was stood at the front of the queue for a taxi at the local station (a queue of two). After 5-10 minutes a single taxi finally arrived. The bloke behind me in the queue asked where i was going and whether I'd be happy to share, given there were no other taxis in sight. As we were heading roughly in the same direction, I agreed and we set off to drop me home first (being the closest).
The fella was adamant he was paying for my portion of the taxi (about £20), i had no cash on me and he wouldn't accept a bank transfer. All he asked was that i pass on the favour.
A very long winded way of saying that i have two tickets for the match tomorrow which i can't use, one adult, one kid, which i would love to give to someone who can't afford to go to the game. The understanding being that the taker "passes it on", as a favour to another. Hopefully someone well deserving can make use of them.

Well done Circa86 that’s a very nice gesture. Let’s hope that you can find someone as you mentioned that’s otherwise perhaps couldn’t afford to go.

If only everyone did this, life would be much sweeter. Good on you and him!!!
Sadly the very model of society and in some instances economic principles, make this difficult for many.
We should all try to do this as often as we can.

When I was on holiday I saw a lady take a massive tumble. She was shaken up and I went to help her, sat with her and made sure she could contact someone.
Sone time after I took a massive fall coming out of Turf Moor. Nobody helped and two lads even laughed.
Be nice if more were like the OP.

Re: Passing It On
When I was a barista a guy asked me the best way to pay for the next 20 people’s drinks. I told him to buy a gift card, load what ever he wanted on it, I’d keep it at the register and would just keep scanning it til the money ran out. He put $200 on it! And then when I told some people their drinks had already been paid for, they’re like “oh great, add this to the card as well”.
It went on all day

Re: Passing It On
Due to my wife having a very serious illness I haven't been able to get to many games this season. I have a season ticket in the Jimmy mac lower and would happily let any claret use it for free when I can't go. I'm dubious about using the ticket exchange as a lot of returns seem to be falling into the hands of away supporters.

Very generous 3561, the kind of stuff that helps the world go round. Anyone who fancies taking their daughter/son/niece/nephew, drop me your email and I’ll flick the tickets over.

Re: Passing It On
Unfortunately there's not going to be a recovery and as I'm in Gloucester I can't be away for long hence the offer
Thanks for the kind words much appreciated.

Re: Passing It On
Didn’t expect it to be tough to give tickets away. I have found a home for them, hoping that the goodwill continues to pass forward.
Thinking of you and your family 3561. Take care and UTC!
