Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
I've just seen on twitter he will be leaving the BBC radio
show he has.
Not sure the circumstances but the BBC are ruthless when they want you gone.
No time for sentiment.
He was a big character and always seemed to mention Burnley.

Re: Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
Sounds like he's maybe going to Capital Breakfast to replace Roman Kemp. Jamie Laing as Jordan's replacement is an odd one.

Doesn’t sound an amicable one. Pretty terse statement and leaving with immediate effect. You can only imagine he’s been talking to other stations, most likely the Capital breakfast show. Great gig for him if he has got that.

Re: Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
If you listen to past DJs who have worked for the BBC, they all say they haven't been able to leave on their terms, despite long service.
The BBC have announced this, not Jordan North. Which is why I said it looks like.

These past DJs sound a bit deluded then.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 8:15 pmIf you listen to past DJs who have worked for the BBC, they all say they haven't been able to leave on their terms, despite long service.

Who gets to leave the company they work for on their own terms ?
Bearing in mind that that the vast majority of these are set up as limited companies and they are presumably given pretty short contracts guess it’s all down to ratings and viewing / listener numbers.
They earn a lot of money whilst there and must understand it can be short lived (take a look at the kind of salaries the radio 2 presenters earn for example).
They should still be treated respectfully though - but we do only hear one side of the story from the DJs who will not have thought twice themselves when leaving other radio stations to join the BBC.

Doesn’t sound great treatment but presumably they are contractually allowed to do that.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2024 9:22 pmHere's Chris Moyles on his sacking.

They are like zero hour contracted people but instead of earning minimum wage they make millions….and walk into another job.
It’s a ruthless highly remunerated industry and as said these DJs were happy to take the jobs when the prior incumbent was sacked.
Re: Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
Never heard one of his shows being an old fart and all that, but whenever I have seen him.on tv he always comes across as an a really decent popular bloke.
Re: Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
I like him for the good publicity he gives Burnley, and he seems like a genuinely good lad, but I’ve always thought he was a pretty terrible DJ, even going back to his Rock FM days.

Re: Jordan North to leave BBC Radio
What kind of question is that?
Why wouldn’t he still support Burnley?

He mentions Burnley on pretty much every show.
His message on Instagram seems to allude to the fact he has something lined up.

My wife still listens to it, whenever i have it on it's aimed at pre-18year olds i'm sure. Scott Mills was one of the worst, can't believe the radio 2 crowd will have taken to him! 50 year old, Dick and Dom level of entertainment shouting 'bogies'
