Looks to me as though Trossard flicked out his left foot to make contact when he was almost past defender. Then, having made the contact he takes a step then falls to the ground.

I can't see any "intent" other than trying to get a touch on the ball. Hard to see if there was any contact with the ball, maybe or maybe just misses.

Exactly how it looks to me. Classic 'leave a trailing leg and hope for a brush' ******** that's ruined the game. The intent was from Trossard to get touched, not from Assignon to take him.
But refs aren't biased to the big sides, honest.

I'm still camp 'In' for now, but my patience is starting to run out with him due to the sheer lack of learning on the pitch, waning effort levels from players, and lack of willingness to try players who he's seemingly written off/fallen out with for whatever reason, when there's literally nothing to lose given our form of late.
That said, I wouldn't sack him, I'd give him til the November international break in the Championship. BUT, if we're not in the automatic places then, given the resources he's had relative to other teams (and even with departures, you'd expect to retain a strong squad or refresh with 'good enough' to top us up), if we're not in automatics then I'd probably want rid. Last year's glory only gets you so far for so long, as Dyche found out at a higher level.
