Away fans in Longside...again
Away fans were in the Longside yet again today. The club is totally failing to get a grip of the situation.
Once it was pointed out to the stewards they were painfully slow to react and remove them, it's embarrassing.

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
They were sat a few seats along from us. Stewards extremely slow to react. Think it took the cfs to sing ‘longside f**k them up’ for them to decide to kick them out. Lucky no trouble started as there were a number of fans riled by them as they just sat there smirking and taking photos of Arsenal players celebrating. One of them even had an old araenal away shirt on under his coat.

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
If these Arsenal fans sat there discreetly watching their team, why on earth is it a problem?

Nothing but as they weren’t being discreet then it’s a problemJohn Johnson 1605 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 6:10 pmIf these Arsenal fans sat there discreetly watching their team, why on earth is it a problem?

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
They were openly celebrating the first goal. If they were discreet we wouldn't know that away fans were in the home end.John Johnson 1605 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 6:10 pmIf these Arsenal fans sat there discreetly watching their team, why on earth is it a problem?

Always going to happen against the big boys. At least in the Championship it won't be an issue.

An accent check by the chaps carrying out the tiresome searches would have weeded them out
Re: Away fans in Longside...again
My mate took his lad on today and had a group of fully grown blokes harassing him until he cried because someone saw him videoing Saka's penalty. ******* embarrassing club at times us

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
Is it possible these “”Arsenal Fans” live in the area with Burnley accents and find it is easy to get tickets posted to their address
Re: Away fans in Longside...again
We had a couple of lads in front of us in the Bob Lord.
Re: Away fans in Longside...again
It was supposed to be a minimum of 30 loyalty points to get a ticket.

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
This annoys me because as a Burnley fan with more than 30 loyalty points I can't get 4 seats together.... I'm sure it'll be easier next season.

I hope this doesn’t become protocol. I’ll never get in the Turf againDown_Rover wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 6:41 pmAn accent check by the chaps carrying out the tiresome searches would have weeded them out

Burnley 1.0 Man Utd
Last minute I sorted a ticket in the home end for my Man United supporting friend - ticket would have gone to waste otherwise. This lad and his family have been lifelong Man United season ticket holders.
He came off that game more emotional than me, siting that "i could see how much it meant to everyone around me"
He reflects on it often as one of his favourite football memories.
Ive sat in many a home end when we've gone away and never had any trouble. Usually great experiences actually.
Just dont behave like a dick.

Not so sure after the performance yesterday, the fans and the fact our half time game doesn't work in the rainTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 8:32 amSurely "some knobhead fans" rather than "embarrassing club".

How do you work that out? I would have been denied admission with my season ticket using that logic…Down_Rover wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 6:41 pmAn accent check by the chaps carrying out the tiresome searches would have weeded them out

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
I was in with the home fans when we went 2-0 up at half time when Defour scored “that” free kick. I tried to be discreet but couldn’t help to smile and celebrate a little. The home fans around me were fine, and also consoled me at full time after Lingard’s equaliser in the dying moments.what_no_pies wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 12:57 amBurnley 1.0 Man Utd

It’s entirely possible to enjoy a match with the opposition fans as long as you’re not an idiot about it.

Not difficult. Just don’t mention apples pears or the boat race. Or the Queen Vic
I was born in Oxford but wouldn’t have a problem
Re: Away fans in Longside...again
The football world has segregated seating for a reason
The fact that very little has been done to improve stewarding after numerous incidents this season reflects very badly on My football club

Pathetic really that people can't just get on with each other because they support a different team.

Re: Away fans in Longside...again
By chance I met a family of 5 (father, mother, 2 boys, 1 girl) from Clermont Ferrand in the Park View. They were genuine football fans and think they were both Burnley and Arsenal fans. Very nice people and had seats in the JH Lower as far as I know. I was able to practise my rusty French !! They supported Clermont Ferrand so understood our position in the Premier League - see Ligue 1 !!

It's because that's how people are brought up in league football.AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 11:12 pmPathetic really that people can't just get on with each other because they support a different team.
A them and us scenario.
If they were brought up at cricket matches or non league, it wouldn't be a problem.
It no doubt creates a better atmosphere having all the away fans together in one big group though.
