Re: Today's Football
How's he not given a red in real time?
Awful refereeing for a truly awful tackle by Holgate.
This is where the powers that be say VAR is brilliant without calling out the ref for getting it so wrong in the first place.

That's got to be one of the clearest, most blatent red cards ever. A horrendous tackle by Holgate.

Re: Today's Football
Given Sheff have had 4 points given to them by VAR and we’ve had 6 taken off us it’s no surprise they look a lot worse than us. They are incredibly fortunate to be level on points.
Re: Today's Football
Just playing devils advocate here. It was a definite red, and it was very reckless
BUT I do think it's one of those that looks a lot worse than it really was

Think he's gone to muller the ball, but Mitoma nicks it as he's swinging and his follow through catches him.

Re: Today's Football
When did this deliberate action nonsense enter the rules? It comes off a Brighton player and that is the only time it goes forward whilst Osborn is in an offside position. Absolutely ridiculous.

Re: Today's Football
Atwell is the supply teacher of referees, the prime example was the end of the half where he keeps blowing his whistle, while the players completely ignore him, he has no authority.
If he does his job and makes the correct call then Holgate should have been having a shower well before he was.

A ball doesn't have to go forward for an offside offence to be committed.Somethingfishy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 2:51 pmWhen did this deliberate action nonsense enter the rules? The problem with VAR isn't the concept. It is the absolute clowns that are using it.

Re: Today's Football
Nevertheless it came off a Brighton player. Not long ago that would have mattered...and now because he didn't mean it it doesn't count. Another ridiculous rule that is open to subjectivity.

General Melchett: If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.

Re: Today's Football
Just watching Brighton playing their way out of trouble then, how they strike the ball with purpose.
We are now playing the safe pass and quite often play our way into trouble, under hit passes that leave us vulnerable to being dispossessed.
