Thomas Tuchel
Leaving Bayern at the end of the season, Liverpool could have a fight on their hands for Alonso now.
Re: Thomas Tuchel
Pretty straight forward decision. Be nuts to choose Bayern over Liverpool at the moment.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 6:11 pmLeaving Bayern at the end of the season, Liverpool could have a fight on their hands for Alonso now.

Re: Thomas Tuchel
Tuchel to Burnley?
Re: Thomas Tuchel
I don’t think Dyche will be feeling too sorry for him. Always seemed a bit of tension between the two in our meetings - similar to Klopp.

Re: Thomas Tuchel
What? I'd choose Bayern over Liverpool. Much more likely to win silverware.
Liverpool have a huge rebuild after klopp leaves. Bayern are pretty much ready to go with a new manager

Re: Thomas Tuchel
Why would Alonso come to the north of England when he can choose Munich or Barcelona?

Re: Thomas Tuchel
Come to think of it would Alonso actually go to Barcelona bearing in mind he is a Real Madrid legend? Hmmm, that just leaves Munich, but Bavaria would be a great place to live. Beats Merseyside i would imagine.

Re: Thomas Tuchel
Did really well at Chelsea all things considered - not done much else of note elsewhere.
That elite club merrygo round is a good gig if you can get it, isn't it?
Imagine potentially losing the Bundesligsa with Bayern then getting the Barça job, some gravy train.

Re: Thomas Tuchel
I’m pretty sure ‘elite’ managers have more important criteria than the general area they would live in when considering job opportunities. You could apply your reasoning to any Premier League club and then question why it’s the strongest league in the world.

Re: Thomas Tuchel
I was imagining myself as Alonso. I like the idea of less challenging job in an inferior league with the advantage of good weather and attractive surroundings. Perhaps not your typical motivations for an elite coach I admit.Rileybobs wrote: ↑Wed Feb 21, 2024 8:03 pmI’m pretty sure ‘elite’ managers have more important criteria than the general area they would live in when considering job opportunities. Re: Thomas Tuchel
He’ll be rich enough to sit on a beach in Barbados for the rest of his life so I doubt he’s motivated primarily by his surroundings.
Re: Thomas Tuchel
Best league challenging himself against the best managers. I dont see a big Liverpool rebuild either, Klopp has just done that. They will probably sell Salah for about 100 million as well so the new manager will probably get a big budget as well.
