Tbf this performance tonight puts any of our efforts recently to shame.
Absolutely. I'd sit our lot down tomorrow and make watch the fight Rovers put up.

Rovers have battled well.
I've watched both Newcastle & Bournemouth tonight and can't understand why we are are so far off them. Both haven't been good.

We’ll see in May won’t we. I expect we’ll get humiliated like we have been most of the season.
I am sure they will have recovered some form by then unfortunately, but Newcastle have been absymal tonight. People are acting like horse fiddler's have been world class tonight

Unlucky for Rovers. Played well.

2 of their leaders missed their pens. This game is punishing at times.

For those of us that don’t like rovers, that was the best possible outcome.

A gruelling 120 minutes of high-intensity football for Rovers that they’ll feel in their legs at the weekend and knocked out on the last pen

I don’t think anyone was saying they were world class, just saying it was refreshing seeing a side play a team they knew were better than them but showing some ******** unlike our cowardly displays.

Good cup tie but yet to win a game under Eustace. 120 minutes of football, away to Swansea at the weekend, four points above the drop zone…

Lap of honour by Rovers players at the end to make the most of the part timers turning up for their annual day out. Boycott to now start again.

Will take the local rivals to win over a team backed by dirty oil money from a state that denies basic human rights to its population

BobSykes said they are 'immeasurably' better than us. If it's completely off the charts that we can't possibly measure how much better they are than us, then surely it is close to world class.

Never felt refreshed watching Blackburn do well myself either

Perfect game. Losing after extra time, on the last penalty… with a big few games ahead of them this season; was about what I hoped for before kick off. They showed a lot more fight than we are at the moment though, sadly. Glad it wasn’t us playing them tonight tbh.

Worth watching the match for that alarming protest. Bet the Venky’s can’t sleep tonight seeing such passion on and off the pitch. Wonderful to see it go to the last penalty, although it will give them something to crow about… last thing they needed.

Don't see any way they get relegated now. Eustace looks to have them organised and there's definitely worse teams down the bottom of that league.

Thought Rovers turned up in what was their biggest game of the season, fair play. Delighted to see them lose and hopefully Gallagher and potentially Smodicz miss the next 3 or 4, they need a few wins as they've a very tough run in.

I think Newcastle were just shell shocked by the scale of the Bastards’ protest.

It must’ve knocked the stuffing out of them.

It appeared to me that most of the Newcastle team were "playing" to see the end of Eddie Howe. They didn't put a shift in for him at all, showed no commitment and seemed to throw in a lot of half-hearted casual passes / tackles.

Sounds like you’ve just described our players. I wonder if a few of them aren’t playing for Vincent now?
