Re: V.K.'s press conference.
We’ve reached the point where some people are determined to take exception to all things BFC.
I even saw a “missing” flyer on Twitterclarets yesterday for a player who had been injured since Christmas. I know he’s been injured since Christmas because VK says so in his weekly press conferences.

I’ve never listened to one to be honest, I’m only interested with what happens on the pitch, unfortunately this season very little I’m afraid.
Re: V.K.'s press conference.
He looks very dispirited to me and that must rub off on the players. Very much hero to zero at the moment

I think some on here are stuck in a loop where they are permanently auditioning for a role in Groundhog Day Part II.agreenwood wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 11:47 amWe’ve reached the point where some people are determined to take exception to all things BFC.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
There's nowt a manager can say in this position that will do anything for the fans. Not really sure from our perspective what the benefit of doing a press conference before each match actually is.

Completely agree,no injury information given, bog standard meaningless answers.I gave up with them when Dyche was manager, lots of words but say nothingdaveisaclaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 12:07 pmThere's nowt a manager can say in this position that will do anything for the fans. Press conferences are for the gullible.
For all clubs, not just ours.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
Press conferences are an obligation. We used to get press conferences when there was a big announcement, the rest of the time it was for the journalists to make the phone calls. Being dragged out before every match is not something managers want to do. Why give advance warning to opponents? Therefore managers are careful what they say… which is usually pretty much nothing. They are generally a waste of time but give Sky News and the press cheap air/column filling content, which is their main purpose.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
Having just listened to that I'd ask some of you to get off VK's back.
Support the club by dropping your agendas.
Negativity can only breed failure.
And I agree, pre-match press conferences are a pointless (but contractural) feature of the game.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
Whilst I agree that there’s little a manager can say after the season we’ve had that’ll sway any opinions of the job he’s doing, I’m not sure you can accuse him of giving “bog standard meaningless answers” yesterday.
He talked about his father again and how his upbringing fuels his work ethic and he also gave an insight into why we overhauled the squad in the summer.
People may disagree with his explanations, but meaningless they weren’t.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
The only use I get from a pre match conference is an update on players that may or may not be fit, and even this is not given at times. The rest is just the usual claptrap about how they have trained well and looking forward to the game,...blah blah blah.

"One thing we won't lack is fire in the belly, that's in the Burnley DNA" Must admit I laughed at that.
Unlike the poster further back I thought he seemed very upbeat and was relaxed and laughing, which is great.
The only time he looked downbeat was when the name Tresor was brought up.

What has BFC become these days. Some fans cannot wait to hammer the club at every opportunity. BFC fans of old got behind the team no matter what.

They’ve become meaningless. Don’t know why anyone bothers with them.

BFC fans of old never saw us have 13 points from 25 games.
It's hardly surprising that people are fed up, is it?

Rather see us trying to compete in the premier league, than trying to stay in the football league.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 8:16 pmBFC fans of old never saw us have 13 points from 25 games.

Talk about claret tinted specs.
Really? I must have imagined the likes of Laws and Waddles teams being
roundly booed for the garbage they were dishing up.
Think VKs got off pretty lightly so far.

He certainly gets off lightly at these pressers.
I stopped listening to these weeks ago now.
Re: V.K.'s press conference.
Laws and Waddle didn’t win the championship with a club record points total. The fans got the team over the line in the Waddle season.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2024 8:41 pmTalk about claret tinted specs.

I always had in the back of my mind that anything short of immediate success would bring a load of anti -Kompany people out of the woodwork.

In twelve of the past sixteen matches the performance was good - we just didn't get the result.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
I think only one person has nailed it when it came to defending a poor team.
John Pullin,England rugby, in Dublin 1973, when Wales and Scotland refused to travel because of the IRA threat.
"We might be rubbish but at least we turn up".
Standing ovation.
Nothing VK can say that is meanigful.

Re: V.K.'s press conference.
Vk’s error was to think his tippy tappy style of football would be enough to survive in the PL.
We added no steel or experience to our squad, but only young players with technical nous. We lack strength and height in our own box.
One thing that has also re-emerged is his stubbornness to persist in his ideas even when they clearly are not working.
This season we are doomed, no doubt about it.
We will however have a young and gifted nucleus that will give us a good shot next season. Let’s hope the lesson is learned by then.
