This is what happens when you read the Daily Mail, and don't check other sources.
QPR issued a statement - reported in other papers - which said that the legal process was not complete, and that he was eligible to continue playing.
The first part of the statement is clearly true, otherwise he'd be in jail, and one has to assume that their legal team checked his eligibility with the footballing authorities. It will mean a significant points deduction if they've made an error.
