The pre match confidence before every game tells me we'll have learnt some lessons and we'll win today but then I think about the season and can see another daft team selections and poor performance.
I'd drop Amdouni today and go 3 in midfield, get Massengo or Cullen sat in behind Berge and Brownhill/JBG with Odabert left and Benson/JBL right with the freedom to push up and do their thing.
The season has to start today it's now or never Vinnie time to step up and show you've learnt these lessons you keep banging on about

Maybe the odd anomaly in results, but on the whole, the starting line up matters immensely.

I just hope, after him seeing how it just isn't working, he is finally prepared to make a number of changes to his starting line up. At this point it can't get much worse than it currently is.

Rest Trafford and play Muric, Give Benny a run on the right wing, put JBG where he was most effective, in the number 10 role. Bring Taylor back in. allow Berge to have a free role in the midfield, specifically to run with the ball and make things happen. Play Cullen to support that defence and just give the ball to Berge. etc etc

On what planet is cork match fit? When did he last play 90 min? 18 Months ago? Cullen, a bantam weight against a physical palace midfield? Brownhill is not a captain, but to be honest, I don't know anyone in that team who can provide leadership on the pitch? Our midfield lacks creativity and physical presence. Muric why? What difference will he make? The issue is how are defence is set up for free kicks and corners, not the keeper.
Our best strategy is hoof ball and bypass the midfield.

His sweeping abilities and passing abilities would have been ideal in this game. Palace aren't the quickest up top we could have pushed higher up and he'd have got us on the front foot. We'll end up sat deep now protecting Flappord

Prospects of Cork being match fit last year looked similar yet he came in and transformed a struggling team.

Cork and Cullen got on against that Palace midfield and we looked better when they did.

Muric, because he's the best GK i've ever seen woth the ball at his feet and that was key to us playing out from the back effectively last season. Trafford can't do it. Not a slight on Trafford, I can't name any GK that can do what Muric did for us last year. We've missed it badly.

Free kicks and corners were an issue for a lot of last season but Muric and the defence improved in that area. We've regressed so another reason to make the change.

My prediction is this:

First 20 mins on top completely dominating the game.

After 22 minutes and 27 seconds Trafford will flap at a cross, completely miss it - the ball will then hit the post and rebound onto the back of Amdouni's head into the path of Jefferey Schlupp who will pass it into the net.

We will then dominate again until half time and we will go into HT the better side and we will all optimistically look forward to the second half.

Palace will then come out and score immediately. We will retreat into our shells until the 70th minute but will then have a resurgence and start to dominate the game.

On the 80th minute VK will take off Fofana and Amdouni and replace them with two cleaning ladies Agnes and Loretta who will narrowly miss a couple of chances.
