We are ahead of where we should be!
We have Big Vinnie at the wheel!

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
I could get behind him if we were losing but there were positive signs, but incredibly despite how awful we have been this season, we have actually managed to get even worse.
He won't change the glaringly obvious problem and just can't adapt.
I can't see the benefits of keeping him. The players have clearly lost faith and now many of us fans. His reputation and pulling power will have been hugely depleted with this season and players wil be hesitant of joining him after seeing how some of our championship winning players have been treated.
I can't see the positives of holding onto him other than finances.

Before kick off today Burnley were priced up at 1/6 to be relegated but following another defeat are now 1/9.
Can Pace afford to sack Kompany given the parlous state of the club’s financial position?

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
"the project" is BS speak for the gullible. Anyone can say " trust the project or trust the process" without actually giving any detail or updates as to what the project actually is.
Do people think that our project remains the same as when it was 1st mentioned given our unexpected windfall, because if it does well........

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
Kompany has just been on Radio Lancs.
He said something on the lines of "There are millions who play football and do you know what the odds are on getting to the premier league"?!!!
Clueless!
The only Millions he should be talking about are the ones he's spunked up the wall!

If he said it in those words it worries me. Does he not realise we are already in the PL and accordingly expect to have a group of players that are drilled, well organised and a get stuck in.fidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2024 5:53 pmKompany has just been on Radio Lancs.

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
Well yes, you'd certainly hope so. Whatever the figure comes to, just pay it and let's have him out.
What worries me is that we're going to spend the next few years desperately trying to offload the absolute shite he's landed us with. Lots of loans to the Turkish League beckon.

Well the Project Manager should be answering some serious questions in the boardroom then, as this is now so far off being acceptable it's incredibly worrying..

If the COO has indeed said that VK has the safest job in the 92, he's probably given more away about our financial situation than anything else.

That's my prediction, so his assurances about the manager are going to be tested.

There's millions of people who play football and would love to play in the Premier League.
Thousands who'd love to play for Burnley specifically.
Then we turn up with this abject, lack of effort, lack of direction stuff. I'll defend Vitinho thick and thin through all his mistakes because at least he has some bottle and f***ing fight, yeah he's not up to it (certainly not as a leftback with a winger who does zero defensive support for him) but at least he looks like he cares. The majority of the team don't.
Millions of people would love to be in their spots. They earn more in a fortnight than most people earn in a year. And that's the best they muster effort wise.
I've said time and again, I was hoping for 17th this season, and can always accept a fighting relegation. This isn't fighting. This is a surrender every week.

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
No chance.
We nearly threw it away against 10 men and that would not have surprised me as the die has already been cast. I'm happy with the 3 points obviously and Kompany having the courage to admit he needed to change goalkeepers. Other than that we still have too much inexperience and mistakes waiting to happen.

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
4 points is a good return from the last two. We could and should have had 6, but equally we could have had 1. Ridiculously, as horrible as this season has been, we’re still only a couple of results over the whole season from having been in the mix, which shows what a wasted opportunity the season has been.thelifeofbrian wrote: ↑Sat Mar 16, 2024 6:18 pmdo you all still have faith after our 3 points today- can we do this?
As for can we do this. I’m afraid not and made peace with this some time ago so I’m happy to just enjoy a win. Even today, having been practically gifted the game after 9 minutes we still conspired to lose the game and it was a relief to hear the final whistle. Hopefully grinding the result out will give the players belief but it’s hard to see us picking up enough points to be close, even with a big points deduction for Forest.

Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
Looking at this side a month ago I wouldn’t have given them a cat in hells chance of getting into the Championship play offs next season, but the speed we played out from the back today was much better, and apart from the odd wobble late on when nerves came into play if they play like that next season I reckon we’d have a shout.
Re: Have Faith in the Project!!
Some nicer play today, but we still failed to really capitalise against another pretty poor side.
For all people bang on about the Premier League going up another level each season, there have been some pretty ordinary sides at the Turf.
Less scattergun recruitment, ensuring that we filled the key areas and we’d have been comfortably safe.
Hey ho, hopefully some valuable lessons learned and fingers crossed, next season will be another one to savour.
