Best All English XI of Premier League era
According to The Athletic…
Pope; Trippier, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Blake, Cork, Westwood, McNeil; Barnes, Ings
Not too far wrong?

For us, Vokes was better than Barnes.
Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
Heaton was better than Pope, also.
Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
Defour was better than the lot of them.

Which makes him more foreign than Defour.

We've had some bloody good lads over the last 15 years or so.

Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
If we're talking purely whilst they were with us, then you'd have to think about Wood seeing as he is our top Premier League goalscorer. Obviously not all time top flight scorer as that's not what the post is about.

Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
I think we once played an all-English XI under Dyche. Possibly not the starting XI, but the XI on the pitch after some subs came on.

Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
I'd swap Westwood for Barton, and Barnes for Jay, who probably scored more Premier League goals than Ings to be fair

.........Heaton
Trippier..Tarkowski..Mee...Taylor
..............Cork........Barton
Eagles............Ings ...........Rodriguez/Mcneil

Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
Think George Boyd would have to be a sub, really underrated, but his energy was a big factor in the team.
Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
Barton was crap in the Premier League.
Re: Best All English XI of Premier League era
I'd have Boyd ahead of Blake in my team. Apart from the goal v Man United, Blake didn't really do much in the PL for Burnley.
