there are plenty on here that seemingly can't wait for us to lose so they can have a rant, they are more of a problem than anyone that says Blackburn played well.

Re: Name and Shame them.
I like to think that, even though I’m growing old disgracefully, I have gone beyond hating a football club. Rivalry is good and a bit of banter is great but I think I have now stopped hating any club. Sure I don’t want Rovers to win or do well but my days of wishing nothing but ill on them are well and truly over. I have a Rovers season ticket holding son in law and he’s a decent sweet guy who makes my daughter very happy (and she’s a Claret and goes to games with me). We have a laugh and a bit of a dig but hatred is dead and buried for me.
Life’s too short for hatred folks, no point wasting time hating.

No one said hatred? I don't 'hate' them personally, they are all human beings at the end of the day, but this a Burnley forum and people are getting massively carried away praising the horse fiddler's against a really poor Newcastle team.houseboy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:05 pmI like to think that, even though I’m growing old disgracefully, I have gone beyond hating a football club. Sorry you saw it like that ,it was supposed to be a bit of banter,I don’t wish them any harm ,but just want them as low down the food chain as possible after the arrogance we had to endure off them for too many years.houseboy wrote: ↑Tue Feb 27, 2024 11:05 pmI like to think that, even though I’m growing old disgracefully, I have gone beyond hating a football club. I'm one,my dad used to take me to both Burnley and Blackburn in the 60's when I was very young.some People did that in those days ..being a Nelson lad, when I was old enough to make my own way to the Turf I never set foot in Ewood Park again ,been a season ticket holder at Turf for 60 yrs ,not many can say that nowadays. I'm Burnley daft ,but even though i like to see rovers lose,i have never had the hatred for ******* rovers like you all have, only when we play them ..My hatred is fir The Manure of Man Utd. I'd rather have fans wanting rovers to win a one off cup game, against a premier league team, which has absolutely no bearing on us whatsoever, than the so called Burnley fans who spend every waking hour on here, slagging off the team, owners, and manager of the club they allegedly support.

Based on last nights performance I wouldn’t fancy us playing them (Rovers) at the moment.

It was a one off cup game, which as history shows the lower teams raise their games. Look at their league games, and league position and give it another thought.

They have lost 17 games in the Championship so far in just 1 season, can't comment on how they performed last night but it is a one off cup tie and football history is full of minnows raising their game in these games.

I think there's a lot of sensitivity apparent when other teams are doing reasonably well it's almost natural for some people to find fault to deflect away from our shortcomings.

I've friends who are Blackburn fans, I don't hate them, I hate Blackburn Rovers though, can't stand that club and everything it stands for ie benefactor football.

I think anyone who allows local football rivalry, to spill over into hate, is obviously projecting something else that's not quite right in their life. Banter, pisstaking and wanting them to lose etc, is all fine and well, but hate? I wouldn't waste my energy.

And that is why I question the view that we will walk the championship next season: I think we are in for a decade of reality: that we are a mid-table championship side

Currently mid table in the championship are teams like Plymouth, Cardiff & Bristol City. Is that what you think is our level ?

Give it a rest, newcastle were poor and made that lot look a lot better than they are!
As for next season, if we keep this squad more or less the same we will smash the championship next season, I seriously think we will go well oast last year's points total.

Re: Name and Shame them.
Unfortunately, my missus has a season ticket at Ewood, so it's only natural we take notice of the plight of each others clubs. I watch them when they're on TV, she does the same with Burnley.
I too have grown out of wishing ill will on them. A healthy rivalry is something that is missed when we're in different leagues, and the atmosphere when we play each other is often tense, but I'm now at an age where I wouldn't want it to spill over into hatred and people behaving like neanderthals, as this impacts the normal fan further down the line with ticket and travel restrictions.

2 sides on the same East Lancs coin. No Nay Never would I want tails(rovers) to win in a flip with heads (us), but against other opposition I have no issue with considering our "coin" to come out on top. That said, not at the expense of us in any way shape or form so not for league games - however as they're currently a lower league team in a cup game against a team in our league I have no issue with wishing them well.

It was when I was able to watch Burnley home and away I guess I dropped going to Ewood (bar the occasional visit) around the same time. Despite living in Sussex I still have my season ticket at the turf and now love to see Rovers lose.... I guess the plane finally did it. Last season I thought their behaviour re tickets was disgusting.

Re: Name and Shame them.
You actually make a good point, corporate prices are attractive if you are watching premiership clubs. A few years in the championship will diminish that revenue stream.
As I have stated before, very few of the people who attend in the box I am invited to know anything about football. They are usually there for the free booze and to do business deals. It is actually a pleasure to discuss the match with another clubs' supporter.
To be honest, I prefer sitting in the BL and listening to the buzz of quiet approval for VK's tactics.

Re: Name and Shame them.
Agree, but my point badly put is that Rovers managed to raise their game - something we seem incapable of doing.
Re: Name and Shame them.
Very impressed with Rovers gutsy performance last night. Particularly given the backdrop of our 2-0 defeat against Newcastle in late September.
With our recent results/gutless performances and insipid post match drivel from Vinnie, I'd imagine that we'd expect a 3-0 defeat in the return fixture.
Let's hope our players were watching last night's game. The effort displayed should offer more inspiration than VK's team talks.

Now we’ve got people on here praising 16th placed Championship minnows Rovers for losing in an FA Cup game, just to dig at Burnley.
Some of you have seriously lost the plot.

Maybe means Tony Parkes. They had a good team at that time, in fact they have had a few good teams over the years. In the team of that oarticular era of course was the colne lad Kevin Hird - a good player.

Both sides were pxxxpoor and Newcastle will probably ditch Eddie as his Saudi masters expected a top four finish with all the cash he's had.Personally,Newcastle are a top 10 side with recent form Rovers without Gallagher and Cameron Diaz look toothless .
Re: Name and Shame them.
They certainly didn’t have a good team late 60s early 70s they were relegated into Division 3
