Richard Lewis RIP

Post by TheFamilyCat » Wed Feb 28, 2024 9:04 pm

The actor and comedian, best known in recent years for playing himself in Curb Your Enthusiasm has died, aged 76.

His legacy, of course is the phrase " the [blank] from hell".

He's been looking I'll for sometime. He was great in Curb.

I think I'll watch Men In Tights tonight. That was my introduction to him many years ago.

Was on the train from Cardiff today and I was watching Curb on my way home. Superb show with the best episodes including RL.

RIP.

So good in Curb.
One of the best and funniest shows ever made.
Fitting that this series is the last one.
In the 3rd episode of the last series he is talking to Larry about including him in his will and Larry is saying he doesn’t want to be !

RIP

Had great chemistry with Larry David in Curb. Always think of the scene(might even be the first ever episode) where Larry is trying his hand as a car salesman and Lewis walks in and completely screws up a potential sale for him

I'll be honest, I'd not heard of him until I got into 'Curb' a few years ago, but he played his part brilliantly. Really sad news.

The episode where him and Larry are fighting over the bracelet still makes me laugh!

There's many a time I read a RIP for somebody that is unfamiliar to me. I find it interesting to see who they were, what they did etc. "Never heard of him" is a crass, disrespectful thing to say. As if they're passing means nothing simply because they were never on your radar.

curb is one of those shows that has never jumped the shark and richard was hilarious with his bickering with larry.

Always baffles me when people jump on threads like this with “never heard of him”.

Strange.

Tells you something about the posters who do it though.

Classic Richard Lewis scene in Curb.
