Really sad news, made great programmes and enjoyed their cookbooks/recipes too. I thought he looked well from what I've seen of the recent programme.

Re: RIP Dave Myers
That's a shame, he's well known around our village for having taken an interest in the pubs, the food they offer and the sourcing of the ingredients.
Seemed a really nice chap.
He has a place a mile or two from here up near St George's Park.

Re: RIP Dave Myers
Sad news indeed, easy to watch programmes from the two of them. No doubt Si will be devastated as they seemed so close.
As with others here I thought he was in remission and was looking healthier recently.

Re: RIP Dave Myers
Genuinely sad news , he was a very popular guy and one of the few cooking shows I ever watched . He was really popular in the lakes , I remember him at the Keswick/Coniston to Barrow finish yrs ago , he hadn’t competed but was doing something at the event and was literally swarmed with people wanting to shake his hand etc .
RIP

The story he tells of being locked in a bank on Christmas Eve on 'Would I lie to you?' is a classic!

Really sad News.
Re: RIP Dave Myers
I can’t cook but have managed a couple of hairy bikers simple recipes and surprised my wife.
One is an excellent chicken and chorizo tray bake. Superb. Even made a cook out of me.
Rest in Peace Dave and thanks for the recipes.

RIP Dave. Loved the Hairy Bikers TV programmes and have a few of their books; recipes were always reliable.
They also had a Sunday morning programme on Planet Rock, which combined great music and cooking tips.

An interesting bit of trivia about Dave Myers, he worked as a make-up artist for a while and was responsible for creating and applying the facial strips to Adam Ant. RIP to a nice guy.

RIP Dave Myers ... I once met them in the Lake District when I used to have a Bike ... on a road trip in a pub up near Keswick ... I hadn`t a clue who they were then and when I saw them on TV I was totally gobsmacked

Oddly enough the mrs made this on Monday evening, we've never done one of their recipes before - it was top drawer.
RIP Dave, seemed a really decent chap.

I do their sausage casserole, but leave out the brown sugar. You get enough natural sweetness from the tinned tomatoes and smoked paprika.
Re: RIP Dave Myers
RIP Dave, loved watching their programmes. It’s 2024 and still the super powers of this world would rather fight and squabble than come together and find a cure for this shocking disease.

Re: RIP Dave Myers
So sad to hear this news. Hairy Bikers is great TV. 2 really nice blokes, touring around, showing really interesting items, and then of course- the food. I’ve done a few of their recipes, but the Beef Bourgingnon, with a full bottle of red wine in the gravy, is a family favourite. Hits the spot every time.
RIP Dave, a genuinely nice bloke.

Very sad, always came across as a really nice fella. Saw them at the mechanics a few years ago… very good together, I bet Si is absolutely gutted. RIP
Re: RIP Dave Myers
Just looking at a few newspaper website front page headlines this morning. Looked at the Mail- Their headline is the size of Dave' Myers estate.
How low can this news website go in what they consider to be headline news. Despicable.

Re: RIP Dave Myers
Lovely couple of guys, Si will feel he has lost an arm they were such a close unit. Sadly his features suggested he was not over the cancer despite their recent tour. Very brave of him to work again after his treatment. Not sure what the Mail have posted and if it isnt a celebration of Dave (and Si's) contribution to cooking and biking I dont want to know. RIP Dave you were a very brave man and I really feel sadness for Si as well as Dave's family and other friends. Taken far too soon.
