So when we got promoted to the PL why did he spend so much money on players who clearly weren't ready for that level
Being really pragmatic about staying up, more experienced players were obviously required
"but he's a winner and he'll get it right - whether that's this season or next in the championship".
He certainly hasn't been proved to be right this season
And given the obvious squad trimming we are going to have to do this summer nothing is certain for next season either unfortunately
No need to apologise

Then that would be 1 terrible PL game against the many of Trafford’s. If Muric had started the season as he should have done and been dropped due to poor performances then there would be no complaints. There’s either something else at play here or just plain stubbornness.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Mar 01, 2024 8:33 pmBut what if VK is right all along, and Muric has a terrible game resulting in us getting battered again?

It's not the club modelIpreferaflan wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 1:03 pmI think he's following the club model of bringing in young players and giving them a chance, so that we can sell on for profit. Don't be naive enough to think that he wouldn't prefer to take experienced, established PL players with quality.
It's his model that he sold to the Board, and helped him convince Pace to spend circa £100m this summer on kids
Not sure how many we actually signed this summer for £100m but that figure would have brought some reasonable experience into the side if Kompany had decided that was what was needed

It's the Board's model too.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 3:11 pmIt's not the club model

The effort was there today. Unfortunately, the ideas were not.

How do you know? Its clearly the only viable model for the club moving forward. Kompany is obviously in agreement but it was clearly the intention before he came in.jojomk1 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 3:11 pmIt's not the club model
