Trafford 4 distribution even worse.
Assignon 5
O’Shea 4 huge error for first
Esteve 4 not good enough
Taylor 7 worked so hard
Vitinho 4
Berge 6 not at his best
Cullen 9. Light years ahead.
Odobert 3 some massive misses cost us
BL 5. Better than Amdouni ( just)
Fofana 3 clueless today

Amdouni 3 VK couldn’t resist
Benson 4 Didn’t really look like he was up for it

We had plenty of effort first half but second was the usual stuff. Ref was clearly biased as shown by lack of red cards and yellow for O’Shea in first minute ( correct) followed by 3 instances of no yellows for them fir same offense

That was a much better performance in the first half with a bit more tempo, but unfortunately we just didn’t have the cutting edge needed to get back in the game. Desperately missing Foster.

The goalkeeper looks absolutely shot from a confidence point of view but he wasn’t helped by his team mates who continually failed to offer the pass Cullen’s movement was creating. Fans then get annoyed because he’s keeping it too long and not trying to make things happen. He was further not helped by O’Shea on numerous occasions making some very strange decisions in his distribution.

Some players put a serious shift in - Cullen and Vitinho in particular stand out.

I also thought Esteve had a positive game, up against Solanke who barely had a sniff all afternoon.

There’s enough to be critical of at the moment but there were at least a couple of green shoots to come out of that. In my opinion anyway!

Trafford 5 decent save , pitifully slow and poor distribution

Assignon 6 got forward ok

O’Shea 3 wouldn’t expect a pub standard defender to dive in like that and heading it out of someone s hands on a first minute throw is indefensible , needs fining.

Esteve 5

Taylor 6 did ok

Odo 5 quite poor today

Cullen 6 tried

Vitinho 6 good runs no end product, couple of wild shots

Berge 6 played far too deep

JBL 5 doesn’t look fit to me

Fofana 5 no service from midfield on his own up top it seemed

Amdouni 3 stealing a wage couldn’t tell he was playing

Benson 5 too late coming on

Jay Rod & JBG pointless subs in last minute

A lot of false promise against an average to poor Cherries side that really didn't have to do too much at all to take the points.
We've a set of players ( not a team )getting sent out, week after week, to do stuff they're clearly not able to do. And probably never will be.
This is completely down to the manager.
Positives today, Cullen playing football, & Berger not having to play CB.
A good game from Charlie too. He fizzed a few good crosses over that deserved better use.
The rest varies from meh to dire.
We just aren't a team any more.

Trafford 5 - no chance with the goals but hesitant throughout and gave it away several times
Assignon 6 - good energy and desire, no end product today
O’Shea 3 - a shocker from the opening bell which cost us the game, stupidly booked, to blame for both goals, terrible, terrible performance
Esteve 6 - ok in large parts and good effort getting forward
Taylor 6 - good in parts but wasteful in others, brilliant challenge in his own box
Vitinho 7 MOM - my biggest criticism of VK before the game, biggest praise after it, did superbly and set up a couple of chances
Cullen 6 - did well and added class but the runners cripple him as he can’t live with them
Berge 7 - looked a class above the likes of Cook for them
Odobert 5 - a 7 for general play, suited the position, 3 for finishing
Bruun Larsen 6 - extra point for a wonderful free kick but not convinced he offers more than other left options
Fofana 4 - a lot of effort and running but no end quality and it hurt us, this is our problem, not effort or desire which some wrongly attest

Amdouni 4 - not entirely his fault but the game died when he came on, that may have been the harsh disallowed goal though

Same old, played really well in parts but without either the cutting edge to create a 0.75xG to use the modern parlence, or the deadly finishing to score a 0.20xG. That then exposes us at the other end, where to be frank worse defenders than other teams have (apart from Sheffield and Luton) then get ruthlessly punished. We have scored 4 goals at home to last year’s EPL teams since Sept 2nd.

That’s why we are going down.

The Nottingham guy Coote didn’t help by disallowing that goal after denying us a leveller at Bournmouth when VAR for the handball. He could also have sent off one of theirs, arguably should. Subconscious bias, being from Nottingham, as I have long suggested, same with Atwell. Whether we would be good enough without this impact is debatable.

Trafford 5 no chance goals
Assignon 5 ok I guess but nothing of note
O’Shea 5 started badly dodgy improve
Esteve 5- hard to say if he’s “ pretty good” or gash the way he plays.
Taylor 7 grafted very hard and a few tidy crosses, Suberin defending stopped their “ 1st” goal too
Berge 6 good 1st half bit faded
Cullen 7 never stopped super effort
Vitinho 7 full effort but he’s just not good enough this level
Odobert 5 some weak finishing on multi occasions
Bruun Larsen 5 lively 1st half but struggles to really get involved
Fofana 4- push and run all he did really

Amdouni 3 fell over

Dominated massively in 1st half against a truly awful Bournemouth , not as good 2nd and they inched back into it . No lack of effort from us , just simply out of our depth in most departments.

I’m staggered at just how little Bournemouth had to come and do to go away with a 2-0 victory.

The crowd have almost certainly lost patience as well. Borrowed time now.

Trafford 5-looked scared and delays the game dreadfully. Dont know why he persists in just hanging on to the ball
Assignon 5-give me a motivated Roberts any day
Esteve 6. Not as good as last week
O Shea 5. Dreadful defending
Taylor 6-one of our better players but apart from one cross he was poor at getting the ball into the box
Vitinho 6-lively and could have scored twice
Cullen 7-been wanting him back and he had a tidy game.Hope he starts ahead of Brownhill next game
Odobert 6. Should have done better with two chances
Berge 6-played too deep
Forfana 4-his worst game, with dreadful control
JBL-good free kick but apart from that did little that was memorable
Amdouini 5-very little contribution
Benson 6-one of the few good crosses put in

Trafford 4 - did the basics ok but his distribution was utterly appalling. It got to the point where they didn't even press him to release the ball quickly. They knew it was better for them for him to keep the ball as he'd likely give it back to them anyway. The lad is not a Premier League keeper, not by a million miles. He might be in 5 years, but that's no good to us now.
Assignon 6 - looks a decent player this lad, shame he's not going to be around next season.
Taylor 6 - worked really hard and looked dejected after the 2nd goal. Feel for him, he's a proper pro.
O’Shea 3 - where do you start? The ridiculous yellow card or the calamity for the 1st goal... never mind the 2nd. Woeful.
Esteve 5 - not as bad as some are suggesting but you can tell he's still adapting, plus anyone playing alongside O'Shea today would have struggled.
Cullen 7 - used the ball well and did everything Brownhill hasn't been doing for the last couple of months. Terrific in the 1st half.
Berge 6 - one of his better performances of late.
Vitinho 4 - I want to score him higher but his end product is so poor. He showed everyone why he's not a winger. Simply doesn't have a clue in the final third.
JBL 6 - worked hard, did ok in general. On another day the free kick goes in and he gets the assist for the winner. He wasn't amazing but the game ended when he was hooked so maybe he was more influential than I thought.
Odobert 6 - looked dangerous in the central role, but as with many others he looked lacking confidence in the final third. At least he doesn't hid from the ball though.
Fofana 3 - like watching Chris Wood on a bad day.

Amdouni 3 - totally ineffective. We were still dominating the ball when he came on as both JBL and Odobert were showing for the ball. Another disappearing act by Houdini.
Benson 4 - really disappointing after the reception he got. I wanted him to try and make something happen but he took the easy option time and again. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt given how little game time he's had this season.

VK 3 - set us up to fail by starting Trafford and Vitinho. If these guys are genuinely better than Muric and Benson I'll show my backside on the town hall steps. All Bournemouth had to do was be solid. They did a Dyche job on us by allowing us to have the ball, knowing full well that we would do nothing with it, and then hit us on the break. We could, and probably should, have conceded 4 or 5. Yes we can argue that we had chances but they had the better chances and fluffed their lines. The first substitution ended the game for us from an attacking point of view. A tactical genius he is not.

Trafford 6 cruel putting him out there with no confidence and defence no confidence in him.
Vithinho 6 would be a 7 if he could shoot.
O Shea 4 poor game for him.
Esteve 7 one of his better games.
Taylor 6
Cullen 7* should be starting again next week.
Odobert 6 needs a goal for confidence
Fofana 3 awful, nothing stuck couldn't pass.
Assignon 5 fell over too easily.
Berge 6 shot shy.
Bruun Larsen 6 unlucky with the free kick some nice play.

Subs
Benson 5
Amdouni 4 J Rod should have replaced Fofana not Amduouni and keep Bruun Larsen on.

Trafford 6 (no mistakes, but no urgency when we're losing!)
Assignon 6
O'Shea 5 (very poor for their first goal which meant we were always behind the 8 ball)
Esteve 7
Taylor 6
Cullen 8
Berge 8 (mom)
Oderbert 5
Vitihno 8
JBL 6
Fofana 6

Amdouni 3

Played pretty well and lots of good football from us, but no end product, no cutting edge and a defence which gives up a soft goal basically every game making us play catch up when we should be leading. Bournemouth were really not very good and yet they've walked away with the points. Utterly criminal from us. Berge was excellent until he tired, Cullen was outstanding and unlike others I thought Vitihno was really good and threatened them constantly showing clearly that he's a dangerous winger whilst never, ever a full back. I can't wait for the season to end unfortunately and I've no idea what the summer and the championship will bring, but crikey, it can't be any worse than this!
PS. I clapped VK off at the end. I've absolutely no idea why tbf, except maybe I'm still thanking him for last season, despite the fact that this season he's looking like he's way, way out of his depth!

First time I’ve seen Assignon and thought he played well, only from TV though.

A basically good performance undermined by a couple of poor lapses defensively, a lack of confidence around the opposition box and some understandable but unhelpful and in some cases unfair impatience from the crowd.

Trafford- 7 - thought he showed character today. One good save, no chance with either goal. Generally dealt with ball well enough in the face of a barracking presumably designed to further undermine go's confidence. It certainly wasn't going to help him.

Assignon - 6 - got up and down ok but a bit unconvincing defensively.

Taylor - 7 - very positive in the first half but leas tidy after the game.

O'Shea - 6 thought he did OK, overall. Might have done better on both goals but on both occasions he was exposed by his centre back partner being caught out of position.

Esteve - 5 - out of position for both goals and looked uncomfortable at times.

Cullen - 8 - terrific in the first half before understandably fading in the second half.

Berge- 6 - another to have a good first half but fade after the break and his confidence looks even more fragile than most.

Vitinho- 6 - added plenty of energy, physicality and decent movement down the right, but the end product wasn't there.

Brunn Larsen- 5 - some nice touches and desperately unlucky with his free kick, but a bit powderpuff at times and another to fade.

Odobert - 7 - a lively presence and showed impressive movement and strength in the 10 position but missed the 2 golden chances that came his way.

Fofana - 5 - plenty of effort but with a couple of eye catching exceptions this was an untidy afternoon and it was a surprise he wasn't replaced.

Amdouni- 5 - unable to replicate Odobert's impact in the 10 role.

Benson- 5 - no great threat.

Whilst Bournemouth clearly weren't great, this was a much improved performance and on another day, with a break or two, we'd have taken points from that game.
The first half was arguably the best 45 minutes if the season, greatly improved by Cullen’s prompting, showing decent fluidity and movement but let down by a hesitancy or lack of composure in the final third (which is confidence) and a defensive horror show to gift an opening goal (which is about competence but mainly from Esteve who was caught out of position). After that we had decent chances to get back level but just couldn't take them.

After half time, we weren't as good and what confidence we had ebbed away rapidly from both players and supporters alike, creating a flat environment so far removed from that last season. Against that backdrop it was a surprise that Kompany left substitutions so long, and ignored the experience of JBG and Rodriguez when they did finally come. In the end, whilst we might have been a touch unlucky to have a goal disallowed and Bournemouth were certainly fortunate to have 11 men on the pitch, a second goal for Bournemouth had become more likely than a Burnley equaliser. Belief in our ability to win, and support for what we were trying to do, had all buy vanished by the end. It is a sad and dispiriting state of affairs.

Trafford 4 it’s getting cruel now. Serious mismanagement to keep him in.
Vitinho 6
O Shea 3 absolute stinker from the ludicrous first minute.
Esteve 7
Taylor 6
Assignon 6
Berge 8
Cullen 7
Odobert 6
Fofana 5
Bruun Larsen 6

Subs:
Amdouni 3
As per a previous poster, can't disagree, can't be bothered to adjust my scores.

Trafford 4 please end it for his own sake and ours.
Assignon 6 tried hard
Taylor 5 thought he looked off it today. The floating cross into the keepers arms in 2nd half summed his day up.
Esteve 5 he looks raw
O’Shea 5 nowhere near this level like a few others.
Cullen 8 add to the long list of baffling decisions Kompany has made this season in having him on the bench.
Berge 6 carried it well but no end product
Vithinio 6 tried hard but zero quality when it matters the most.
Oddobert 5 poor again
Forfona 5 struggled

Thought today summed up the season bit of effort which has been lacking in recent weeks but ultimately we have a large bunch of individuals who are nowhere near this level. Last seasons team would beat them every time. Also Kompany once again too late with his subs and looked totally lost on the touchline and yet again persists with the same formation.
Heard a few stories of dressing room disharmony which comes as no shock hard to see how he sees the season out.

I think the biggest argument for dropping Trafford is reflected by the scores he's now getting for a perfectly fine performance in which he played to instructions. He's becoming a lightening rod for the teams failings.

Undone by poor finishing, poor defending, and zero luck. We look doomed, but we all knew that already. Good first half, meh second half. They could have had a couple of reds, not our day yet again on that front.

Trafford 5 - A good save in the second half, but looked shakey with his feet yet again
Assignon 5 - One of the few who tries
Taylor 5 - rusty
O’Shea 4 - Back to his average form
Esteve 4 - Not sure about this guy yet
Cullen 7 - One of the few positives, great to see him back
Vitinho 7 - Thought he was one of our best players. Worked his socks off
JBL 5 - Too quiet
Odobert 5 - Flatters to deceive. Did ok I suppose. Didn't take key chances
Berge 7 - Him and Cullen should be our must keep axis to build from next season
Fofana 3 - Awful

Amdouni 3 - The ghost strikes again, no coincidence that our shape fell apart as soon as he came on, I've seen enough now, get shot in the summer please.
Benson - 5 Good to see him on the pitch, looked rusty but got a fair few crosses in.

Lack of goals has cost us this season, as well as playing a schoolboy in goals, and too much chopping and changing at the back. Tella was a great fit for this system. When you catch lightning in a bottle, you'd better be sure to keep it at all costs.

One final note, if JBL hanging at the back post is a foul, why wasn't the block on Trafford given as a foul against Luton? We've not had much luck this season have we?

Muric gives us drive and purpose with the ball at his feet, Trafford doesn’t. He’s simply not up to it at the moment - who knows he may be in a few years.

Your comments on Trafford and O’Shea baffle me - but it’s all opinions.

Plus even the away fans know that he is the weak link with the constant **** taking when we passed it back to him

Indeed it is. I thought O'Shea today was exposed by Esteve alongside him, but i accept that that is a view others may disagree with. But Trafford didn't do much wrong today beyond doing what the manager clearly asks of him. He's a young keeper, and the wrong keeper for us to have signed (as I've said many times). But he's not getting much help from the stands now - and other teams are feeding on that.

As for Muric- I was one of his biggest defenders last season and whilst he had some particular ability as a ball player, I'm old enough to recall him getting plenty of criticism- at a lower level - for slowing things down at times and for making ill-judged passes at times. I thought then that he was often getting criticised for the fact the rest of the team weren't able to to carry out the manager's game plan, just as I do now. The difference was that that team ultimately was able to adjust to Kompany’s demands at the level it was playing at. This team, unfortunately, won't.

Trafford 4 causes panic
Assignon 6
Taylor 6
Esteve 5
O'Shea 5 massive error
Berge 7
Cullen 8
Odobert 6 missed big chances
JBL 7
Vitinho 6 couple of decent turns and ran about but doesn't do much with the ball
Fofana 5

Benson 5 not on long enough
Amdouni 4 no point bringing him on

VK 3 knew a defeat was on the cards before I'd even entered the ground once I saw the lineup, it's becoming tiresome getting that feeling when the lineups are announced
