Alan Pace
Has he gone AWOL? Haven’t seen him holding hands with his wife and sitting next to his teddy bear for weeks now.
Re: Alan Pace
dont think he's going anywhere soon
i've heard he's started integrating more and more of his family and friends into the club in various roles - some with no football or burnley knowledge
specifically marketing and commercial

Don’t want Burnley managed by hedge funds in the background so he can go as soon as he likes.

He's busy trying to get an injunction blocking "Mission to Burnley 2"! Apparently he's heard off camera in it saying "FFS Kompany"!! But that might be just a rumour!

Re: Alan Pace
Yes a hedge fund is a pool of money that is invested in stocks and other assets. Hedge funds are generally more aggressive, riskier, and more exclusive than mutual funds. Their managers have freer rein to invest in a wide variety of assets and to use bolder strategies in pursuit of higher profits, and are rewarded with much higher fees than mutual funds charge.
I repeat I don’t Burnley managed by them.

Using your definition how could we possibly be “managed by hedge funds in the background”.
Infact what does that even mean ?

A hedge fund holds liquid assets. If you don’t know what they are, look them up. A football club is illiquid.
So the good news is that we’re not managed by them. Stop embarrassing yourself.

Re: Alan Pace
Let's be honest. Pace backed his man with plenty of cash (unlike Garlic) and his man blew it. Not Pace's fault (imo), but the guy who chucked the money away on poor buys (at this level!)Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 5:21 pmBit harsh to blame Pace, he's backed VK, who's made poor signings and decisions.

What we really needed was another thread about pace.dermotdermot wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 4:49 pmHas he gone AWOL? Haven’t seen him holding hands with his wife and sitting next to his teddy bear for weeks now.
To make any reference to him sitting next to his wife and ‘teddy bear’ (not actually sure what that’s referring to) is weird as feck.
Good news is, I’d rather have Pace than the Venkys any day and Rovers are going down too
Re: Alan Pace
He’s not going to let Vinny see the season out, is he?

Painful point to make, but at least the Venky's dug into their own pocketsNewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 03, 2024 6:06 pmWhat we really needed was another thread about pace.

Pace has backed the manager to the tune of 120 million, he is the last one to be having a dig at. He’s going what we all asked the last regime to do.

There's something between the lines here.
Something cold and accepting of relegation.

Hopefully that’ll put an end to the “where’s Pace” thread for a while.
Good notes, says everything you’d expect bar maybe his reflections on what’s gone wrong this year which I hope we hear more on at the end of the season.

"Looking back on the history of Burnley Football Club, we’ve faced difficult times before and shown real resilience. Week in, week out we need to be showing that resilience again now, in unity.
Elsewhere, it’s been a busy week at the Club. We announced the news that TravisMathew are a new Leisure & Lifestyle Partner, a relationship we’ve been working on for some time.
It’s an exciting development and a chance to team up with a globally recognised brand as we expand our offering in this area."

The AP programme(Bournemouth) were just standard B****cks what else were people expecting him to say. He really has no idea about the history of Burnley FC or the town of Burnley, people tell him this and tell him that so he thinks knows what Burnley is all about. People use their very hard earned cash to follow the clarets H & A. He said he understands how fans felt at CP he doesn’t understand fans have been suffering all season fans are actually fighting amongst themselves at matches. Under his “watch” we have gone from a club everyone was talking about to a club that are likely to go down as one the worst teams to ever play in the Premier League. No football knowledge if he had surely he wouldn’t have let an inexperienced manager spend so much money on bunch of young inexperienced unknowns. VK should take most of the criticism but the chairman is also culpable

Re: Alan Pace
I actually like AP, not the way he bought Burnley, the way he manages Burnley.
If Burnley is successful, he is successful and vice versa.
At the moment we are going down the pan, he can see it just the same as VK and the fans.
He isn't daft, he will be taking educated advice on why it isn't working.
He won't wait and see, he will do something to change it.

That is true of all the Chairmen of the club. I don't think I've encountered one that can be thought of as successful if the club is not...!Nonayforever wrote: ↑Mon Mar 04, 2024 9:01 amI actually like AP, not the way he bought Burnley, the way he manages Burnley.

Arguably, Alan Pace has less at stake than the other because he bought it using the club's money.
And I'm not sure how much educated advice you can take when you gamble on a group of unknown players in the hope they succeed in the best league in the world.
I suspect if he was prone to taking advice he would have been a bit more cautious.
