Bosscat

Post by IanMcL » Sun Mar 03, 2024 8:09 pm

As I left home very early and made good time, I took the scenic route to Burnley, via Long Preston.

I saw the Maypole and the Whore's Bed pubs but not any residence with a plaque saying Chez Bosscat!

Nor did I catch sight of LP Peggy and her drummer boys!

Then I watched Burnley!

Maypole is a good pub (or certainly used to be, but I haven't visited in a while!)

My blue plaque property not on the main road Ian πŸ˜‰ To avoid all the hordes of adoring fans (and those who wish to chuck stuff πŸ˜‰) The Boars (Whores Bed) Head has just been sold and is in the hands of a developer (probably not to re-open as a pub but turned into housing/ flats) LP Peggy was a Rathmell lass (t'ther side o t'valley)

Still is Dark C but must admit the beer could be improved ... Craig is stocking "Moorhouses Premier" but we would prefer "Taylors Boltmaker" hey ho πŸ˜‰

Used to drop into The Maypole on the way back from weekends in The Dales. Used to have a Gorf machine in there (or maybe Defender). Long time ago

I should have known you would have been in an exclusive part, Bosscat. Had to take my litter with me!

Pity about the pub loss.

As for LP Peggy, Rathmell Peggy doesn't have the same ring to it!

Always next time! I'll keep an eye out for the plaque. ;)
