Squad for next season, STAY OR GO

Post by KRBFC » Sun Mar 03, 2024 11:47 pm

I know some are out of contract so stay will be sign them to a new deal, I know some are on loan so stay is sign them/bring back on loan.

It’s who YOU want to keep, not who you think will stay/go:

GK:
Muric STAY
Trafford GO
Peacock Farrell STAY
Vigeroux STAY

Full Back:
Assignon STAY
Vitinho GO
Roberts STAY
Taylor GO

Central defenders:
Beyer STAY
Esteve STAY
Ekdal GO
AL Dakhil STAY
O’Shea GO
McNally GO
Delcroix GO
Egan Riley STAY

Central Midfielders:
Brownhill GO
Berge STAY
Cullen STAY
Ramsey STAY
Cork GO
Gudmundsson GO
Bastien GO
Massengo STAY
Twine STAY

Wide players:
Tresor STAY
Bruun Larsen GO
Odobert STAY
Koleosho STAY
Benson STAY
Zaroury STAY
Redmond GO
Churlinov GO
Costello GO

Strikers:
Foster STAY
Rodriguez GO
Fofana GO
Obafemi GO
Mellon STAY
Amdouni STAY
Weghorst STAY
Agyei STAY

Love to see Weghorst have a year in the Championship even though I can’t see it and Iv been disappointed with Tresor but I’ve not given up on him reviving his BFC career (although I expect him to go)

GK: Trafford and Muric STAY - Peacock-Farrell GO, Vigeroux - I know nothing about him except that he's a goalkeeper.

Full back: Vitinho, Taylor STAY - Roberts, Assignon GO

Central defenders: Beyer, Ekdal, Al Dakhil, O'Shea STAY - Delcroix, Egan Riley GO (isn't he a full back?) - esteve, McNally DON'T KNOW

Central Midfielders: Brownhill, Berge, Cullen STAY - Cork, Gudmundsson, Bastien GO - Massengo, Twine DON'T KNOW Ramsey - WE DON'T HAVE A CHOICE

Wide players: Odobert, Koleosho, Benson, Zaroury STAY Tresor, Brunn Larsen, Churlinov, Costelloe GO Redmond DON'T KNOW

Strikers: Foster, Fofana, Mellon STAY - Rodriguez, Obafemi, Amdouni, Weghorst GO Agyei DON'T KNOW

Even with the 18 staying, we're dangerously close to being top heavy when some of the don't knows and a few new signings are added. I think there will have to be a bigger clearout, if possible. No doubt some loans for the spare parts like this year?

For all of the hyperbole about how bad this team is, that side gets automatically promoted next season. That’s without us spending almost anything and with a ton in reserve. Just for a bit of perspective.,,

Yeah looks fine when laid out like that -

Think Leeds may take Roberts off our hands if promoted in all honesty but I'm more than happy with Vitinho at RB for a season in the Champ.

Be interesting to see what happens with Berge, Redmond... Think if either of them stay they'll have big years with us next year.

It’s astonishing how Kompany could have assembled this massive squad of Meh type players. And shelled out a fair few quid by Burnley standards in doing so.
In fact it’s more than astonishing, it’s quite frankly gross incompetence.

My reasoning is bothwho I think will do a job in the championship and also who we should keep for development purposes and who I think could cause dmage in the championship next season.

GK:
Muric STAY
Trafford GO
Peacock Farrell GO
Vigeroux STAY

Full Back:
Assignon STAY
Vitinho STAY
Roberts STAY
Taylor STAY

Central defenders:
Beyer STAY
Esteve STAY
Ekdal STAY
AL Dakhil STAY
O’Shea STAY
McNally GO
Delcroix GO
Egan Riley GO

Central Midfielders:
Brownhill GO
Berge STAY
Cullen STAY
Ramsey STAY
Cork STAY
Gudmundsson STAY
Bastien GO
Massengo STAY
Twine GO

Wide players:
Tresor STAY
Bruun Larsen STAY
Odobert STAY
Koleosho STAY
Benson STAY
Zaroury STAY
Redmond GO
Churlinov GO
Costello GO

Strikers:
Foster STAY
Rodriguez GO
Fofana GO
Obafemi GO
Mellon STAY
Amdouni GO
Weghorst GO
Agyei STAY

From this list it is quite clear that if it pans out this way, then the main areas we need to concentrate on are fullbacks, GK, and striker(s)
Almost like we should have done last season

The squad is frightening bloated as it is.

You could quite literally bin 10-15 players and we’d still have a big enough squad.

VK was a world class defender SD a journeyman midfielder/defender.
Who is the better at organising a team to defend and scrape wins and draws?
Why?
We all hailed last season and rightly so-far better then the recent promotion seasons but who wouldn't swop the two today.
I cant see us repeating last season's success next season, I just cant.

I know i am in the very small minority but i genuinely think Mike Tresor is going to be a beast next season in the championship, similar to the transformation of Lyle Foster this season from last.

tbf, we have been unlucky with some players this season.

Potentially (and it is potentially) we could have Foster, Tresor, Koleosho and Ramsey all fully fit and firing next season where they have all been off it or injured for most of this campaign.

He needs to be to justify the money we will be spunking on him at the end of this season. And yes I think you will be in a very very small minority thinking this.
Nothing wrong with a bit of optimism eh?

I'd have it somewhere around this.

GK:
Muric STAY
Trafford STAY
Peacock Farrell GO
Vigeroux STAY

Full Back:
Assignon STAY
Vitinho STAY
Roberts GO
Taylor STAY

Central defenders:
Beyer STAY
Esteve STAY
Ekdal STAY
AL Dakhil STAY
O’Shea GO
McNally STAY
Delcroix STAY
Egan Riley GO

Central Midfielders:
Brownhill STAY
Berge STAY
Cullen STAY
Ramsey STAY
Cork GO
Gudmundsson GO
Bastien GO
Massengo STAY
Twine STAY

Wide players:
Tresor STAY
Bruun Larsen STAY
Odobert STAY
Koleosho STAY
Benson STAY
Zaroury STAY
Redmond GO
Churlinov GO
Costello GO

Strikers:
Foster STAY
Rodriguez GO
Fofana STAY
Obafemi GO
Mellon STAY
Amdouni STAY
Weghorst GO
Agyei STAY

Muric would be back in at No1 and Trafford out on loan. Roberts can go. Taylor has done well again this season so should stay. O'Shea and Egan-Riley can go. Cork, JBG past it sadly, Bastien never got going. Redmond, Churlinov & Costello are wastes of a salary every week. J Rod past it sadly, not sure why we signed Obafemi and Weghorst can do one.

Weghorst can do one?
He is probably chuckling to himself right now looking at the state of our team of mis firing misfits.
If he was here now we might actually stand a chance of causing problems in the opposition box at corners.
Never mind, he is rubbish in the eyes of most on this board who would prefer us to keep playing our “sexy” football.

He has shown multiple times now he has no interest in playing for BFC. He showed more emotion upon leaving his loan spell at Man United as he was desperate to stay there, then he has ever done for us. He doesn't give a toss about BFC so time to get shut.

I’m not sure many of our current squad are that passionate about giving their all for BFC. I would get shut of the majority of them TBH, if only it were that simple. And they could take the waste of wages set piece coach with them also, who I see for a few minutes each match day coming out of the dug out muttering shite that none of them can hear and waving his tiny hands about.

Didn't even realise that we had a set piece coach, to be honest. Think he could be on the list to go as well judging on this seasons work.

KEBFC not far off, but the biggest question isnt who stays or goes, but who we get in to fill the obvious gaps on the pitch.

Without a leader these players could drop right through the championship. With leadership the could bounce straight back.

Quality players, looking very average, and getting worse each week. Very disappointed with VK that he can't instill any kind of confidence in these lads. He's killing them, and devaluing them in the process.

Yes he pops out from the dugout now and again in his black tracksuit. He has got the initials ET on his jacket/tracksuit top.
I now jokingly say the ET stands for Exceptional Tactician.
Just add him to the extensive list of poorly recruited personnel.

We really need to replace Brownhill, if we are fortunate enough to come back up our midfield is gonna be in the exact same position again.

I saw enough from Cullen yesterday to know that he will be effective again in the Championship. Should be first name on the team sheet again next season.

I know i am in the very small minority but i genuinely think Mike Tresor is going to be a beast next season in the championship, similar to the transformation of Lyle Foster this season from last.
Don’t worry I am also in that small parallel universe, I also think Amdouni would be a beast as well can’t see either staying but if 1 or both do I can see them being 1 of the best players in the league

It’s astonishing how Kompany could have assembled this massive squad of Meh type players. And shelled out a fair few quid by Burnley standards in doing so.
In fact it’s more than astonishing, it’s quite frankly gross incompetence.
To pay his old club Man City 19 million for Trafford I’m
Surprised the fraud squad not been called in yet ! 🤔

Why don’t we just keep this thread simple and name only six players who we would like to stay?
I’m hard pushed to find just six.

Its such a weird squad to judge. The only one i think is completely substandard is Vitinho. The rest all have ability and potential, its just very difficult to assess which ones will actually fullfill that potential at some point.

I think the absolute priority has to be to build a team with a strong mentality and a solid foundation, the goals will come regardless.
This is a strong core for Championship level to build from, theres no excuses next season. We need to be competitive immediately, if not then Kompany goes by October. We dont have time to be patient, promotion is vital

.......Beyer/O'Shea....Ekdal/Esteve/Delcroix

..................Cullen......Berge

.....................Foster

Esteve, Beyer, Assignon, Cullen, Berge and Koleosho.

I'd also keep Taylor, Brownhill, Foster, Benson, Tresor, Odobert, and Zaroury.

I'm always surprised and the lack of love for Vitinho. He works hard, he plays in various positions and he is a decent player.

What is the issue??

He’s a definite keeper for me.

He’s a better player than he’s given credit for both defensively and offensively and what he may lack in ability he makes up for in effort.
