Burnley must have had about a good 80% of the possession on Saturday yet failed even to score a single goal despite that, really frustrating to watch.

Other than the Turf it was the first ground I ever saw us win at. That was in the FA Cup 6th round in 1962. There have only been two wins there since.

I knew we didn't win there that much, and having been at off top of my head the FA Cup game 2-2, a 3-2 win there and a 3-3 draw I would never have guessed it was that bad.

Also a great 0-2 win in August 1973, our first game of the season on our return to the First Division. A very smart away kit, a brilliant performance and a team spirit probably as good as anything I've ever witnessed in over 65 years of watching us. Heady times.

Yeah he was excellent that day. Sheffield is a decent day out too and a better standard of residents that the other major city in Yorkshire.

You’re comparing a league of 46 games vs Championship opposition against 38 against Premier League opposition, which are miles above Championship.

The fact we were only 10 points better than them was probably a clear indication we weren’t as good as we thought we were, actually.

But also it wasn’t really our team given 30% of our outfield players were loans.

Almost certainly the lowest standard 'top flight' game you'll ever see, and I'm 100% there for it. Get it first on MOTD. Backpasses getting sliced into the crowd, three consecutive passes getting 'oles', hapless defending. Genuinely looking forward to it.. proper lower league football but in the biggest league in the world.

it's going to be interesting to see how the promoted teams get on next season, I'm where you are with it at this moment in time. Saints conceding 3 at Birmingham, Leicester losing at home to QPR, Leeds not winning away at Huddersfield who had 10 men for a half doesn't smack of teams that will do well in the PL. I might of course be very wrong.

I must have seen one of them when I guess we were both at Uni in the early 70s. Peter Noble was unplayable and his heading incredible.
